    I Need Everyones Opinion....

Hi Mandi Jo, To be honest, since it seems you have been following you pre-op diet well, it would probably be fine for you to have a couple drinks just for this one night...not to the point of being drunk, of course, but just to take the edge off. I don't want to be a bad influence or anything, but the again, my surgeon didn't press the alcohol issue very much. Regardless, you should do what you think is best for you. I wouldn't stress abt the party much tho, b/c you are abt to have a life-changing experience, so be excited!!

    Its been a while...

Congratulations on your weight loss so far!! I went through a period where I didn't lose either (my restriction seems to fluctuate) but I'm finally abt 25 pounds from my goal weight! My suggestion is to set a goal for the summer and stick with it. That's what I'm doing. I'm going to try to lose at least 20 pounds (hopefully 25!) this summer by working out and cutting greasy foods...at least during the week- I might treat myself a little on the weekends. Working out can get old quick, but if you have access to a pool, you could maybe mix it up a little by swimming instead of working out some days. Hope this helps some. Good luck!

    Flying with the Band

Hi, I am from Alabama, and I had my lap-band surgery done in San Antonio, TX. I actually flew there, had it done, and then flew back home to finish recovering. I've had to fly back there twice since then and haven't noticed any complications or changes in my restriction (I might just be lucky) I actually remember eating on the plane on the way back from a fill, heh. It really just comes down to the fact that the band has different effects on different people's bodies, so you can't really know what to expect until you have experienced it yourself, but I wouldn't worry too much abt it. Hope this helps ^.^
  7. Glad to hear that everything was ok. It can be scary sometimes. I have weird things happen with mine every once in a while, but it is usually caused by spasms in my esophagus due to irritation. Good luck with your weight loss! ~Brooke

    Alabama bandster

Hey, everybody! I'm Brooke from florence, Alabama. I was banded in San Antonio, TX at the SA Weightloss Center May 15,2007. Having my band done out of state was a great decision. I didn't have to do any waiting list, I got financing from capital one, and the cost of my procedure was only 12,000. My Dr. was Jorge Rincon. If any of you Alabamians want to chat or have questions, let me know!! Good luck to you all!

    LapBand Food Stages Lists Suggestions

Hey, everybody! I just had my band put in last week by Dr. Jorge Rincon (San Antonio)! I've lost 8 pounds in 9 days! I feel pretty good! Anyways, I'm in stage 2 now and I've made a Soup recipe that's pretty good to be a full liquid: cream of chicken soup chicken broth salt hot sauce or other seasoning ~Put these ingredients in the blender, then in the microwave for about a minute, and it takes pretty much like a real meal!
