  1. When did everyone start to work out? I am 10 days out and I am feeling so tired all the time still. It totally bummed me out that on my post-op visit, I only lost 5 pounds from day of surgery. Carol
  2. My surgeon said at three weeks, I guess everyone's different. You might want to give a call just to be sure.
  3. Wow, what a tremendous weight loss. Congrats !! I am 8 days out and see my doctor for my one week post op chech today. I'll find out what my weight loss is then, but I have a feeling you'll be in the lead. Great Job! Have you started excercising yet? Carol
  4. Oh, yeah, I added some frozen fruit in there too. I forgot to tell you that.
  5. ok, here might be another option for you as a fellow Day 6'er. I have put in the blender some skim milk, some crushed ice, Protein powder then I added a packet of Hawiian Punch sf packets or you could use any kind, Mio, etc...give it a whirl, instant protein smoothie, Just remember not to use the straw, then pour some into small containers and put into the FREEZER. When I had my 4 oz one this afternoon, it was just like frozen yogurt. Good luck. I hope to be able to attack creamed Soups, we'll see on Tuesday when I go for my check-up. Carol
  6. Ooops, I meant to say that I was sleeved on 2/25/2013 and will stop Cobra in March.
  7. here's a question that I haven't seen addressed on the boards yet... My husband was laid off in Jan. 2013. We took Cobra so I could be sleeved on3.25.13, Everything went fine, we are going to cancel our Cobra coverage now because we can't afford 1667.00 for Cobra, plus pay the mortgage, buy food, utilities.... My doctor's admin. assistant told me that everything after the surgery is covered for 90 days. Fellow sleevers, didi you have many blood tests, nutritional visits etc... Thanks, Carol
  8. I have found that Aetna stinks. Finally got appoved, verbally, on Thursday proir to my Monday morning. Boy, I was a basket case that week of not knowing if I'm gonna have surgery or not.
  9. I was in for about an hour, hernia repair as well, recovery after 1-1.5 hours, and discharged 24 hours later. No complications and feeling good.
  10. Your son is adorable. My doctor said No Lifting over 10 lbs. for 4 weeks. I was just sleeved 2/25.
  11. All this jello talk, do you think that I can add a dollop of fat free sugar free cool whip on top for addidional flavor?
  12. Fantastic Job !!!! I'm impressed. How often do you hit the gym, or excercise? Way to go !!!
  13. Oh, I'm so sorry for your awful experience. Keep on sippin', it really does help.
  14. Try to get as much rest as you can, I was on day four as well, took 3 naps then slept for 10 hours. I think that you are on such a high from coming home, having surgery finally behind you, some meds still in you. Now, that has worn off, you begin to feel everything. I am having a hard time choking down the Protein shakes. sleep well....
  15. Wow, I consider myself lucky, my doctor didn't use staples or stitches. He used what he called super glue, so far nothing leaking or anything. I can shower when ever I want to, just with my back to the sprayer.
  16. Good news indeed. I was sleeved on Monday, and was out of the hospital after 28 hours. Boy, they sure don't let you sleep there. I feel good, over did walking on day 3, so I needed to take a dose of pain meds. Felt groggy after that, yesterday was good, but I find that I am having a hard time now choking down the Protein shakes. Any advice?
  17. Thanks to all. This has been such a trying week, with being approved only on Thursday to other things. This board has truly been a God send to me, good luck to all sleevers in the final week in February. Looking forward to seeing you all on the other side, losers bench, that is... Carol
  18. Thanks a lot everyone, now I'll know what to expect. Bag's almost packed and we'll be out the door at 6.45 tomorrow morning. Wishing well to all to the 2/25 sleevers out there. Carol
  19. You look terrific, you should be very proud of yourself !!!!!
  20. But, I just gotta ask, when everyone here says "gas" what are you referring to? Is is an inside tummy gas? A burpy from your mouth gas? A burpy from your behind kind of gas? I'm going to be sleeved Monday 2/25, just wanting to know what to expect. Ok, you can go back to your giggling now.... Thanks, Carol
  21. ZOINKS, you guys are freaking me out. I had one and only one food funeral and that was 1/2 of a submarine sandwich. I did it with my husband's blessing. I just hope it wasn't too close to surgery which is on Monday. Maybe the miralax will clean that all out. Carol
  22. Hey all, I'm the 25th sleever and FINALLY got insurance approval on Thursday afternoon. Talk about it coming under the wire. When I went for the final weigh in, I was given additional instrustructions. South Beach-Phase 1 for 6 days. I know that it could have been much worse. I take a capful of Miralax on Saturday, regular S.B. for the rest of the day. On Sunday, South Beach Breakfast, another capful of miralax at noon, then Clear liquids, jello, sf popsicles, Be at the hospital at 7.30 the next morning. I'll be with you all in spirit. Carol
  23. Good luck to you. Hopefully seeing you on the losers bench soon. Carol
  24. Our insurance is due to expire before my 6 month and 12 month check ups. At that time I will be a self pay. Has anyone gone through this? Have you skipped an appointment, what do they look for then? Any other self-payers willing to share would be awesome. Thanks in advance, Carol
  25. Hi, I am scheduled to be sleeved on the 25th as well in Buffalo, NY. I am still nervous because insurance hasn't approved yet... After that, I'll be in my glory.
