You may be feeling some effects of dehydration. It an cause your heart to beat faster and/or harder. It should go away as you get better about hydration and just as you heal! Always check with your doc but I'd bet money you're fine. Good luck!

I'm not anti Protein bars by any means. I keep them at work, in my kit bag for work when I'm on the road and at home.
I do think that they're relatively high in calories for volume. I think they're great for an emergency, so you don't get caught out without a healthy option to eat.
So I have them and try to mix in other Protein Snacks during the day. For instance I'll take a boiled egg in its shell to work and have it as an afternoon snack, 70 cals. tuna in spring Water and crackers. Jerky. There are loads of stuff to mix in with bars.
I eat bars, but I don't have them everyday. Plus I'm trying to form up my eating in the future, and I'd rather get a routine with real food happening.
    My two cents.
    Cheers,
    Deano

courtoomp got a reaction from Carol Watts in fluids help please
My dr and nut say count half of the Protein Shakes as liquid. I like that compromise. So a 12 ounce shake counts 6 ounces towards Fluid goal.

Oh, and track dehydration easily by looking at your pee. As long as it's still clear you're fine. Worry about dehydration if you are getting dizzy when standing, feel extremely weak, dizzy when go for a walk, delirium. An try some warm broths as those felt better for me

Everyone close to me knows. My surgery is a test for them, not me. Do they have enough brains to grasp what I did? Do they have enough character to be tolerant of what they don't understand and do research to educate themselves? Do they love me enough to wish me well without jealousy? If not, they are free to situate themselves where I ain't.
I have absolutely no guilt about doing this, I am proud of it and myself for doing it, it took guts. It is not an act of weakness. I took charge, had faith, and I'm aggressively pursuing health. What's to be ashamed of?

I have kept the surgery to myself too. My husband knows as do 2 of much children (my other lives out of state). I am so glad to have kept this secret in part because I have had to work hard to get the weight off. Many people misunderstand weight loss surgery and think the only reason for your success is the surgery. But, I am the one maintaining the diet of 600 - 800 calories per day, I am the one at the gym 6 days a week working out for an hour, I am the one making this surgery work and I don't want to have that hard worked dismissed because I had surgery so my stomach is smaller.
