Lower BMI
I am going through occ and dr Ortiz . I have a low bmi. I am 175 and 5'2. I'd like to lose about 40 lbs. I'm expecting it to come off slower but to come off.

Under 180Lbs And Getting Sleeved, Anyone Else?
I am 175# and being sleeved BEFORE it gets completely out of hand. I hate my weight and not being as active as I should be. I have been struggling with my weight since I can remember and Every year I weigh a little bit more than the previous year. I am getting done on April 15th at occ with dr Ortiz and can't wait! I know the results are going to be slow but there will be results an they will be forever

OCC & Dr. Ariel Ortiz - My Story
Do I need to have a spirometer like the paperwork says? And can you give me a list of what you took with you and if there was anything you should have taken?

Calling all April 2013 Sleevers going to Mexico!
Anyone that had been to occ and dr Ortiz...did you purchase a spirometer and take it with you? The paperwork says to do so but I am wondering if that is necessary. My surgery date is April 15th and I hope that the flight home is ok for me. It will be a long flight and I don't want to be in pain for the entire trip. I guess it's one of the prices you have to pay if your traveling to Mexico for the surgery.

Happy to hear you made it home. I live about 2 hours away from the Pittsburgh airport. Wondering what direction you are.

Gastric Sleeve Surgery Date Set.....low Bmi
People are so judge mental with what others do. I am doing this to save myself from getting even bigger. I have it in my genes and history has been proving it for the past several years. Why should I be criticized for wanting to remain healthy and active?! That's why only 2 people know of my surgery on April 15. Everyone else just thinks I'm going on a vacation.

Realistically.. what should I expect?
I am worried that I will quickly become discouraged if I don't lose regularly. Even though I am a low bmi

Gastric Sleeve Surgery Date Set.....low Bmi
That is how I am also. Lower BMI but I gain a bit of weight every year and my family is obese. I feel as if I am destined to be if I don't do something now. My bf doesn't really agree with this decision but he is supporting me in it by going along with me and helping me out. He would worry about me going all that way by myself. I received my pre-op vitamins and his passport today so it all seems very real to me now even though I am not scheduled till April 15th.

Gastric Sleeve Surgery Date Set.....low Bmi
This is making me so excited for my upcoming surgery scheduled for April 15th with dr Ortiz. With my low BMI I figured weight loss would be slow but there are so many great results in here! I love it!

Calling all April 2013 Sleevers going to Mexico!
I am confused with my pre op diet. I ordered the pre op package through OCC but that is for 15 days. I was under the understanding that I didn't have to diet for 15 days. Hmmm. Any suggestions on this. I have a low bMI

OCC & Dr. Ariel Ortiz - My Story
Thank you so much. I, like you, am craving information and details about OCC and Dr Ortiz. There are very few postings about him but everything that I have read has been positive. I was referred to him personally by a friends sister that had lap band there so I have felt secure about his facility and him. I have a low bmi and emailed asking about my pre op diet. Dr Miranda said to have three protein drinks for three days prior and not to gain any weight at all. I'm worried that I may have already gained weight since I filled out my paperwork. Yikes.

Looking for people that have had the surgery through dr ortiz at occ
Thanks everyone. Hoosiergirl...I read your blog and it was so helpful. And Bee, good luck and can't wait to hear from ya!

Concerns
That's a good idea. Ill start changing my evil ways now. It won't seem as suspicious after the surgery. I vacation in July with my sister and friends where it's a big party with alot of eating and drinking. By then I should be down some in weight and would rather not have to deal with it but I have already purchased my tickets. Oh well...ill look good anyway! Thanks!

Looking for people that have had the surgery through dr ortiz at occ
I am feeling so anxious about all of this and may feel better if I speak with someone that went through dr Ortiz at occ. anyone out there willing to help me out?? I'm a mess!
-
Concerns
Thank everyone. I wish I was surrounded by people that would understand and be supportive on my decision but I am not so this is the way it has to be.
-
Passport
When I applied for my passport they said it might be 6 weeks but I received it after three and a half.

Concerns
I am being sleeved in April and not telling anyone but my boyfriend and a close friend. So, for those of you out there that have kept this a secret, how do you explain the weight loss and different eating habits? And , although I am not concerned about not being able to drink alchoholic beverages anymore, I'm not sure how I explain that I won't be at social events. I'm concerned that there will be questions about the changes and family concerns over them.
