  1. I work in HR and HIPAA applies to employers as well as health providers. What your boss did is not right and I would definitely talk with your HR rep. Any information regarding personal information should not be shared. I don't know about lawsuit implications, but where I work, I would bet that legal would be concerned! I am really debating telling my boss. I am only taking off 5 days at most and worry that if I look like I just had surgery, LOL, people will wonder what's up! I don't want people saying that I took the easy way out. Good luck on Monday! Linda
  2. I am a believer once again! I will be able to conquer hunger! Thanks for everyone's testimonials!
  3. I have the same fear! I think it won't work and I will constantly be hungry. I'm already preparing for gastric bypass if this doesn't work! I am about a month away from surgery. I think I'm just scared of making a huge change. Thank for voicing your fear. I'm not alone! LOL!
  4. They knowingly added salt and sugar to make the food more addictive. What a great reason to eat fresh produce and non processed foods. There are a couple food documentaries on Netflix, Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead and another called Hungry for Change. After watching them, it's clear that processed foods are the enemy and fruits and veggies are our hope of living healthier.

    FREAKING OUT

So glad you are doing better! The worst part is behind you, and it sounds like you had excellent care. And it's really important to follow pre- op instructions! Thank you for sharing your story, it helps me to prepare, for when its my time! I will start taking Salsa lessons so I can be prepared for my home visit with Dr Kelly! LOL, actually, that does sound fun. Maybe I can put that on the list of things I can when I'm smaller and more agile! So glad you are doing better!

    The Standard Inagural Post

I thought one of my relatives was getting sleeved when I read Fahn by 40! My maiden name is Fahn. So, that's why my user name is Fawn, so people know how to pronounce it. Fahn is my nick name. I love your definition of Fahn! And you will be Fahn By 40!
  8. Amber, thanks for sharing your story in such detail! Like Skgirl27, I'm seeing Dr Kelly but in early April. When I get scared and have doubts, I read your story, and again, I'm convinced its the right decision with the right surgeon! Thank you again for sharing your story. I pray that you heal quickly and the mental hunger loses its charm . Linda
  9. Well stated! I like the analogy about food commercials. You are so right! Love your soap box!
  10. Every step adds up! I needed to find my pedometer!

Exactly the reason why I picked Dr. Kelly! I feel safe in his hands. I love the way his patients speak so highly about his bed side manner and skill. Wishing you safe travels and successful surgery! Linda

    Very confused!

Jesser, I feel exactly like you! I haven't said anything to my mother because she is so negative about everything, I just don't want to hear it. I am struggling on a decision about Tijuana surgeons. The one that I really want is $5,500. I just learned last night that his former asst surgeon has opened his own practice and is charging $4,000. But, I can hardly find any information about any of his patients. Is this good because he performed 1,000 surgerys with my preferred doctor? If I helped someone 1,000 times, I think I would be really good at it, so why do I question the junior surgeons experience?? My husband is very supportive, thankfully! However, he just closed his business as it was costing more to keep the doors open than not. So, $1,500 seems much more important. Then I feel like I'm so crazy for wanting this surgery! I picture my self wearing a gown and being wheeled into surgery, and I start flipping out! I'm such a mess! I don't want to tell any of my 2 Friends that know, as I don't want anyone knowing these crazy range of emotions that I'm going through. Don't want anyone to have ammunition to talk me out of it. I have enough cash to pick the better surgeon. I should stay with who I feel comfortable and in the long run, $1,500 extra in my pocket won't really change things. Maybe I just talked myself into going with the surgeon where I would trust my life in his hands I guess you have to do what you are doing....weighing your comfort level with the cost. I wish the best in your decision! Fawn
  15. Effexor was the hardest drug to withdraw. I don't think you would experience withdraw symptoms its just a couple days. But quitting cold turkey was difficult. So don't go too long without it.
