  1. Hey girls, congrats on all your success!

I, unfortunately, am a failure story. I lost 30 pounds in the first six weeks and haven't lost a pound since. (Actually, I've lost five or six more but that's it.) I have had frequent fills, cannot eat much, I feel like the surgery itself has done for me what it promised as far as restriction but there's something screwed up with my body that won't let me lose weight. So I feel like I'm just the biggest, fattest screw up in the universe.

I thought maybe if I posted that someone else might come out of the woodwork and let me know I'm not the only one who has had sucky results.

  2. taismommy, This is my first time back here in months and months because of depression. I feel your pain. *hug* I am still *barely* maintaining the 30 pound loss I had right after the surgery when I was on liquids. I have enough restriction now and I'm barely eating a thousand calories a day but something is really wrong with me. There is no way a normal human body can maintain 300 pounds on 1000 or 1500 (on a bad day) calories a day!

I canceled my appointment for November too because I didn't want to go in to my surgeon and come out crying again because he treats me like I'm a liar.

  3. hee hee hee

You girls are so funny. =)

Get this....I started low-carbing yesterday. Low-carbing is the only way I've ever dieted successfully in my almost 39 years on this planet. So, after ONE DAY of low-carbing, I woke up at 296 pounds. That's two pounds less than I've ever been from SEVEN MONTHS AFTER MY STINKIN' SURGERY!!!!!

SO, I'm happy and irritated at the same time. Now, this means if I lose 10 pounds before my appointment on the 11th he'll probably refuse to give me a fill again. That's why I'm going to carry lead in my pocket. =) (Seriously..)

    Take that, Dr. ASSHAT!!!!! =)

  4. Congratulations to all of you who are looking and feeling successful at this band thing! I'm so happy for you! (And yes, it is possible to be jealous and happy at the same time.) =)

Unfortunately, I can't post six-month progress pics because there has been no progress. Sassafrassin Q@)#&^#)(*&@#)*(&@#)(*@

I wish I could fire my asshat of a surgeon but unfortunately, he's the only one my insurance will cover. I really admire you for doing what you did Mac! I am going to act really, really ugly if he doesn't give me a fill when I go back on Sept. 11th. I was hoping this thread was chock-full of success stories because I wanted to print it and take it to him and say, "SEE??? You ultra-conservative on fills IDIOT. People with normal surgeons who give them fills are LOSING WEIGHT!!!!"

    Grrrrrrrrr.

So let's see some more progress pictures!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!

  5. As of June 25th, my 4 month Bandiversary, I have lost 24 stinkin' pounds. I have had 1 fill, 3ccs in a 10 cc band.

Ok girls, I need some moral support here. I want to impolitely stab my surgeon in the head with an ice pick about now. Yesterday I went, for what I assumed would be, my second fill and he wouldn't do it! He said I was losing around a pound a week, slow and steady wins the race, you're the tortoise not the hare, blah, blah, blah and I was honestly too stunned and defeated to argue with him about it. I did try to explain to him that the weight I've lost was all in the first 6 weeks and I've been GAINING weight for the last three but he wouldn't even listen to me. He just kept going by the average and said when people coerce him into fills they always come back begging to have saline removed in a couple of days.

:tt2::thumbup::cool2::tt2::mad2::thumbup::mellow: I also told him that I can eat anything now, with no restriction whatsoever and he said, "Well, you come back in two months and if you've lost less than eight pounds I will CONSIDER a fill." At the rate I'm going, I will have gained all of my weight back by then! I am so freakin' depressed that I could give up.

  6. I know that most of us have had our four month band anniversaries in June (mine will be June 25th) and I was wondering if you would be kind enough to tell us how much you've lost as of your 4 month anniversary. Edited to add, could you tell us how many fills you've had? I will have only had one by my 4 month and I think I'll be encouraged if the biggest losers have had a lot more fills than I have had. Thanks so much!

Mine will look like this on Wednesday...

As of June 25th, my 4 month Bandiversary, I have lost ______ pounds. I have had 1 fill, 3ccs in a 10 cc band.

I was hoping to get an idea of how everyone is doing and how I fall along the continuum.

Thank you girls and guys!!!! =)

  7. Thank you sweethearts! I do love it here. =)

I'm trying to catch up on posts now. I'm trying to be really good today since I've been having a bad week/month/total experience?

I'm going to have to start immersing myself in the success stories here so I can get my motivation back.

I do love you girls! *hug*

  8. Hey girls! Believe it or not I'm ready to try exercising again. (Lord help me!) Today is the first of June so my goal is to do SOMETHING at least 50 out of the next 61 days (June and July). I plan to ride my stationary bike, do Walk Away the Pounds, do some light weight lifting, and possibly walk. We'll see how it goes.

I'm proud of all you movers and shakers!
