  1. Thanks faith, I will be sure and mention it to my surgeon. I haven't even had my first appointment with him yet. HOWEVER, today my general physician faxed over the paperwork so I hope to get the ball rolling soon. lee, I would be furious if I were you. You can be eating very small and healthy portions and not necessarily be low-carbing and lose. I hope you can find a more understanding doctor to give you your fills soon!
  2. Thank you faith! I hope my doctor is using this by the time I have my band placed! =)
  3. faithmd, I have to ask, what's a small ap? I thought I'd read every stinking thread on this site but evidently not! =) losingjusme and maziemommy, I keep praying that Extreme Makeover comes back on TV so I can get an all over body redo for free! =) Hi Trystelle!
  4. I can't believe I read the whole thing! *faints* But I did!!! I hope this thread gets hoppin' soon because I've really enjoyed reading everyone's posts. I'm a few months away from my banding but learning all I can learn here. I have a BMI of 52% so I'm with ya!

    Leg cramps - super painful!!

What your body probably needs is water soluble magnesium. I used to have horrible leg cramps and my chiropractor gave me a bottle of the water soluble magnesium for spasms in my lower back and it almost immediately stopped leg cramps, spasms, and even menstrual cramps. Please, please give it a shot because I've convinced dozens of my friends to take it daily and they thank me for it constantly! Good luck!
  6. Hmmm. Now that I've discovered this product, I think I'll take Alli after all! Oops I crapped my pants
  7. I just thought I'd warn you all that you'll probably be sick of me by the time I have my surgery in six months or so! =) I went to my first informational seminar last night with Dr. Blaine Nease from Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV and I really liked him a lot. He was a down to earth guy with a great sense of humor, no arrogance at all (which I abhor in people!) I am so excited!! I was sitting there all cocky like, "Yeah, I knew that, learned it at lapbandtalk. Yep, knew that. Check, knew that too!" ha ha ha I really appreciate all of the great information I'm gleaning from this site. Thanks for making me feel welcome everyone! P.S. I'm a female. I think the name might be throwing people a little. =)
  8. Good for you for being tenacious! My family makes fun of me all the time because I always write places or call 800 numbers if I have questions. Unless I win the lottery, I'm pretty sure I won't have an opportunity to try an infrared sauna anytime soon but if I DO I'll be ready for it! =)

Did your insurance cover your lap-band?

I have Humana and it will cover lap band surgery after a six month, medically supervised and documented attempt at weight loss. I'm hoping for a surgery date in December.

  12. <----------- Do you think this will work? Or is it too crude? =)
  13. Thanks Sweety! I'm a 37 year old woman from Kentucky!
  14. Thanks for the advice, Terri! I'd already considered that since someone PM'ed me after I posted on her thread and when I replied and told her I was a female she couldn't even mask her disappointment when she PMed me back!
  15. I thought I should add that I have a BMI of 52% and weigh 330 pounds. My insurance does pay for lap band surgery but I'm in the six month waiting period now. I'm hoping (and praying) that I'll be able to have the surgery during Christmas break because I'm a teacher and it would be great not to use my sick days for recovery. I really believe this is going to work for me. I'm hopeful for the first time in years! My goal is to lose about 40 pounds before the surgery and start some sort of exercise regimen before the operation so I can be a little more fit to help my recovery. I know that won't be easy, but I am committed to making this work for me!

    I need some friends!!!

I'm new here too and while I don't have any "friends" yet, everyone appears to be super friendly. I will be your friend, though. I like you already! Do you want to know what I like most about you already? Your modesty!
