aquitenonnymouse got a reaction from Pinkgirl1234 in 5.5month update with pictures!
I was looking through old photos today and hadn't realized how different I look!
    I was sleeved on November 16, 2012.
This picture was taken in March or early April, but I'll post another soon.
First photo is probably from March 2012. One year apart, I was startled by the difference! There are very few pictures of my whole body from the last several years.
    Highest known weight 330
    Surgery weight 310
    Now- 233
Time of the second picture, probably 245lbs

Same here. I've never regretted having my sleeve. I have wished (plenty) that I could eat more of something tasty. BUT my sleeve helped me not over-do it, also... That craving goes away. It is tough sometimes, though.

People seem nicer to me than they used to be.
I'm not hiding my surgery. I don't introduce myself with it, but if someone asks how I'm loosing weight, or what I'm doing, I tell them. For me, honesty is the best policy.
I'm not sure about jealousy. I haven't really run into it, so I don't know that I can help there. I will say, that if she is lashing out at you, it's going to be because she feels insecure, or feels like a failure, not because she is a bad person or because she wants to hurt you. You have an opportunity to give her support.

    Nice job!
I always told people that I just 'wasn't a coat person' and I just wore a big sweater and then hat, scarf, gloves, etc.
The truth- I was ashamed that the clothing companies that my family would have tried to buy me something from... nothing would have fit me. My belly and hips was bigger than their largest plus size coats would fit.
But NOW, I'm always cold, and this winter, I'm getting a COAT! And a ladies large will fit, thankyouverymuch.

Stalls are totally normal! Try maybe weighing once a week instead of every day for a little bit, or write down your weight every Sunday morning (pick a day) so you can see your progress more clearly. You won't see it day-to-day. You don't loose weight every day, you loose it in chunks.

aquitenonnymouse got a reaction from SheWins1 in surgery in 24 hours, what do I pack?
I brought lots of stuff that I didn't use.
    I USED:
    -hair ties
    -chapstick
    -breath strips
    -wisps (waterless tooth brush things)
-ear phones (the sound for the TV was in my bed, so you plugged earphones into the bed
    -borrowed kindle (for reading/games)
    -nightgown
    -loose undies
the surgery group provides everyone with a butterfly shaped abdominal support pillow. It REALLY helped for coughing, changing positions, etc.

aquitenonnymouse got a reaction from LMFAO575 in mf vs wls
In my experience, and according to a lot of research, diets do not work for the majority of people.
In a study my surgeon told me about, 2% of morbidly obese people trying to loose weight are able to keep the weight off with diets and exercise. The other 98% gain it back. Many gain it back, plus more.

aquitenonnymouse got a reaction from miss_cee85 in shoe size
    I'm 6.5 months out, and I went from 12 to 10.
Not only are you loosing fat in your foot (some- there's not actually a huge difference in length between sizes next to each other), but you're also putting less compression on your foot. The bones in your foot spread out when you stand. It's why your foot looks bigger when you are standing up than where there is no weight on it. You will probably find that your arch is higher after loosing weight.

I started chewing trident occasionally about 3-4 months out from surgery. My surgeon said it was alright as long as I didn't have a habit of swallowing gum, which I never have.

I had superglue-type stuff on most of my incisions, but no stitches or glue on my drain site. It healed fine- such a small incision.

aquitenonnymouse got a reaction from thesmilos in Do your feet really shrink?
In addition to loosing fat in your feet/ankles, as you become lighter you are not compressing the bones in your feet as much. You may find you have a higher arch as you loose weight from your foot not flattening as much.

aquitenonnymouse got a reaction from allthatjazz4u in November 2012 sleevers- 6 months out. How are you doing?
Hi November sleevers! It's been ~6 months for us! How are all of you doing?
I am 5'10", started at 330, was 310 at surgery, and am now 330.5 (SO CLOSE to 100 lbs from last year!) I was sleeved November 16,2012, so this is my 6 month anniversary.
I had some serious month 3 depression, but that thankfully got better and went away. I've had some hairloss, but it could be so much worse, I'm sure.
I'm exercising and feeling positive. My weight loss has definitely slowed down a LOT, and some weeks the scale doesn't move, but I'm in such a better place than last year.
