    Caffeine withdrawl

Going cold turkey is rough. I weened off caffeine over a period of a couple of weeks. Sorry you are having a rough time. Not that I would recommend going against your pre op diet maybe have a cup of half caf to take the edge off.

    Bacon?

I was cleared for anything after 6 weeks but it was a couple months before I tried it. Went down fine. I have not an adverse reaction to anything and I am almost 7 months out.
  3. Uh oh, this might actually belong in the dirty secrets thread! lol! Feel better!
  4. I kind of chuckled too ....sorry, I did it softly so it doesn't add to your headache. Things can be very different..I can get buzzed on a glass of wine. My husband and I love wine and enjoy trying different ones on the weekend so I have a few sips and then let that go to my head for a few minutes. After that I'm fine. If I go out for happy hour with my friends, I can only have one glass and I will sit for at least an hour and half after that with lots of Water. That was not the case pre sleeve. Feel better sweetie and don't beat yourself up. Hydrate up and that will help.
  5. You may want to judge me from a distance or on the day when my socks are on day one.
  6. Ok, total truth is sometimes, I actually wear them 3 times. Seriously.
  7. Sassy, Really, just take a chill pill. To attack someone looking for information is just rude. You don't understand their path and to assume you know it, well...you should know better. Sorry if you think you wasted your time but everyone's journey is different. Please don't judge, it's not pretty.

    Support person

Wonder what the hippa laws are concerning that? Does the insurance company give the primary insured the right to know? Anyone have insight to that? Good luck to you, sounds like you are taking great control of your life! And yes, this place can be the best support!

    Cocktail Shaker

A good well shaken fresh margarita sounds like a better use for it. Just saying... Seriously, thats a great idea!
  11. I wear my socks to the gym twice before washing them. And they stink.

    Cash Payers (in the USA)

I'm sure everyone has different ways, I'm guessing some use the credit care, a medical loan, some probably use credit cards or a combination of credit and savings. Some, like me just paid cash. Good luck to you.

    Ladies HELP!

The LBD is great! I love the fit on you and you look fantastic! As a few posts say, a great necklace. Since it's fall, I also like the the shrug idea. Not a sweater but a shrug, possible colors, white or red would look stunning! Make sure he is worthy of your time and yes, we do want a report back! You go girl!
  14. I used the weight that I was at my initial consultation. That is 11 lbs lower than my highest weight a few years ago when I did Medifast.
  15. Good luck and a speedy recovery! Check in when you can!
  16. Hi Lauren, I can feel for you. I had researched for some time then when I had decided the sleeve was what i needed to do for me, found out my insurance excluded WLS in any way, shape or form. Bam! I am lucky to live in a place where we apparently have tons of fatties as the Dallas/Fort Worth area is full to top notch centers of excellence surgeons that do the sleeve for a reasonable cash price. I did it and it was the best thing I did for myself in my 50's. Being self pay puts you to the front of the line. No hoops. For me, it was so worth it. My surgeon is at a center of excellence and in all honesty the cash I put out was a bargain at twice the price. The $12,200 has been the best money I have spent on my health. My live has changed for the amazing in the last 7 months.
  17. I actually gave mine away. I just couldn't get past the only having it luke warm.

    Struggling with enough water

Wow! That is wonderful! Congratulations on your success! I am still 27 pounds from my goal as I have been in a pretty stubborn stall for the last 2 months but I have lost a few inches during this time so I know that things are still moving in the right direction. Yes, I would take it everywhere, even meetings, I'm sure people bring bottled Water in to meetings. I just like my Tervis Tumbler because it helps me see how much I am taking in. I am much more aware of not forgetting my tumbler as opposed to a bottle of water. I guess I really am that attached to it, for me it's kind of like a reminder that I am working everyday to make the most of this awesome opportunity that I've been given! Congrats again on your success, hope to be there myself in a few months!

    Struggling with enough water

Sip, sip, sip! That is the best advice I can give. I have a Tervis Tumbler with a lid, and take it with me everywhere, I sip it all day long, you would be surprised how much you can consume by sipping. Mine is the big one so it holds about 20 oz. Three of those per day and I've go it. I've gown so attached to it that when I travel and don't have it, I don't get as much Water and I really just miss it. I think it has become my security blanket. LOL! And yes, I use a straw, I get way less air with a straw as just drinking. When you look at trying to get in your two liters it can look overwhelming but a sip at a time adds up quickly. Good luck to you, are you nearing your goal weight at 9 months?

Weight Loss Stall at 2 weeks Post-op

Perfectly normal. Do a search on 3 week stall, you will find literally thousands of threads on them.
  21. I hear what you are saying. Yes, I am with you, I did not get sleeved to eat chicken and veggies for every meal for the rest of my life. I think what you are seeing is that during the losing phase, a lot of surgeons and NUTS have their patients on strict diets so thats why you are seeing a lot of that. While for the most part, people are trying hard to make the best or at least better choices, most of us will splurge from time to time, which is how people should be eating, sleeved or not. I am over 7 months out and yes, Chipotle is on the menu. Have had it several times. It can be a great meal. Their barbacoa (sp?) is to die for, with some Beans and cheese and.....don't get me craving it!

The girls are sad and deflated!

Ahhh...yes...that has happened to many a pair of girls post sleeve. While my girls used to converse with my belly button they are now getting to know my kness.......sigh..... I try to stay positive about them and wake up every morning and rolls those little girls up and place them in my bra and they don't move for the day. The upshot is the weight is coming off and I dream of getting those girls lifted and perky although I probably won't. Keep up the great work and good luck with the girls!
  23. I used Dr. Nicholson too. Excellent surgeon and very happy with my experience. That said, Dr. Davidson has about the same reputation. I don't think you can go wrong with either. Good luck!

  25. I had my surgery on March 6th. I am started at 220 and am at 157 currently. I am 5'2" and was in a 18-20. Now 10's are comfortable. Things have slowed down but I know they will keep going in the right direction. I feel amazing and am SO glad I took this step. I watch what I eat and nothing has bothered me. I have chosen to avoid breads, refined sugar and simple carbs till the end of the year. I am so happy! Good luck to you, you will love your sleeve!
