  1. I think walk with what you are comfortable. I did one short lap the first time. about every 1.5 to 2 hours built it up. Ended up with 7 full laps before I went to bed that night. It felt good for me. The first day I was home I was wiped out. Just walked enough to get the gas out. Now that I am 8 days out, I am walking about a mile twice a day with the dog. Taking almost an hour, can't go fast otherwise my big incision gets to feeling "tight". But the weather has been beautiful here in the Dallas area so that has been a big help.

    Surgery date of March sixth

I was sleeved March 6th and I am cold all the time too. I use my heated throw all the time! I'm sure it's just our bodies recovering. I have had sleep issues for years so I can't really speak to that one. Hope you are doing well and getting around!

    1 day post op

Welcome home and congrats! You are doing great! Yes! The heating pad will be your best friend! I have a heated throw and I am wearing it out. Funny, I am a week out and I have been cold since the surgery. Sit under that heated throw every time I sit down! My little dog just snuggles right up against me and off he goes! i guess Charlie Brown was right. "Happiness is a warm puppy"

    Dumping .....

Holy smokes! I am a week out too and my diets expanded to creamy Soups. I had a few spoons of watered down tomato a bit ago. So far so good but damn, I was just about to take the dog for a walk and now you have me afraid I'm gonna lose it and my dog will have to pick up after me! Guess I'll take extra bags!
  10. First of all, good luck with your surgery and speedy recovery! Is your doctor negative on the fact that you are having the surgery in the first place or because you are going to Mexico for it? If he/she is negative on the surgery, maybe it's time to change your PCP. If it's because of you going to Mexico, that is probably just his/her perception of Mexico. There are a lot of folks in this forum that are negative on Mexico but positive of the procedure itself. I guess that is a difference of opinion. I would look at your policy or call them. There are some policies that will not cover any care relating to non emergency procedures done outside of the US. It would be worth looking into and knowing what the risks are with it. That being said, the overwhelming majority of people that have this procedure in the states or in Mexico don't have any complications and if they are they are minor. I think your Doctor just has an issue with Mexico.

    Two Days Post Op

Great! Glad it is going well! Keep walking, sipping, walking sipping. It gets better every day!
  12. It's hard to do at first, but with practice it becomes easier. Then when people realize you are serious, they stop asking something that may be personal. Good luck!
  13. People are nosy because they think they can get away with it. They do it to people who feel like if someone asks a question you are required to answer it. You are not. Plain and simple. You can say this topic not up for discussion, or why would you ask such a personal question? Or I would rather not discuss this but thank you for your concern. You can only be taken advantage of if you allow it.

    Please be honest

1 week post op here. Pain was not bad. After I got back to my room I slept for about 3 hours then the nurse came and said I should walk. Getting up was very painful but i also knew from my 2 c-sections that once up, it feels so good go walk. I walked than went and sat in a chair the rest of the afternoon and evening. Got up and walked every time i felt gas and it went right away. My biggest fear by far was nausea. I was almost in a panic over it. The nurse said the dr. left orders for several meds and I just need to ask. Ask I did. I asked for the anti nausea every 4 hours. I had the morphine pump but didn't really use it much. The more you walk the less pain you will have. Don't be afraid to ask for meds. Thats what they are there for. I personally think the stress and anticipation of what the surgery and recovery would be like was way worse than the actual procedure and recovery. It's perfectly normal to have these feelings. Wish I would have asked my dr. for a couple of Xanax the day before. Best wishes to you, you will do great!

    2days post op

Try to start getting some Protein. Isopure is considered clear liquid and counts as Water. You wont get any energy till you start to get some protein in your body. It will also help you to heal better. Sip,sip, sip every sip helps. If Jello is on your protocal, not one mine week one you can make it with unflavored protein. I use unjury and use it in sugarfree black cherry jello. Can't taste it and its chalk full of the coveted protein. Good luck, it gets better. I'll be a week post op tomorrow and am managing about 80 grams of protein and I do feel great.
  16. I understand what you are saying but those who keep our personal lives personal has nothing do with women judging women. It simply has to do with privacy in this subject and for that matter all aspects of our lives. Suppose someone does ask you about your weight loss? If you are a person who feels comfortable talking about it because that's who you are then that is great. That being said, there are a lot of people who don't feel compelled to answer every question asked. One could say a lot of hard work. It's the absolute and complete truth. No matter how one does it, it's not easy. Period. There are a lot of what ifs out there but feeling responsible for someone giving someone else a hard time because you didn't spit everything out seems like a lot of unneeded guilt to me. The fact is, that person is going to give the person struggling with their weight a hard time no matter what. That's how those type of people operate. It's sad but it's true. What ever people chose to reveal to folks or not, we just need to support one another.

    Post op march sleevers

Don't get in a bath. You can shower but not a bath until the all the incisions heal, they say about 4 weeks.
  18. newat52

    Any March Sleevers?

Good luck to all of you tomorrow! I will be one week post op tomorrow and I have to say the relief of having it done and looking forward to the future and even the healing is SO much easier than the anticipation of the surgery it's self! Speedy recovery!
  19. ROTFLMAO!! Good thing I'm 6 days post op now and it doesn't hurt to laugh! Hang in there!
  20. newat52

Damn I don't know what to do!

Indeed. You are so right. We all make the decision that is right for us in the end and it should be done without pressure.

    liquor

Wow! I do love my wine but have decided to give up cheap white wine and when I get to the point when I can enjoy a glass again I have vowed to only drink good red wines and enjoy a glass once a week or so.

    Coloring hair

When I get my hair colored it usually makes it look thicker. I did mine the week before and will again in another 5 weeks or so. Every little bit will help me since my hair is on the thin side anyway.
  23. newat52

    Coloring hair

No. Gray hair is caused by children and husbands.

    Finally sleeved!(:

Congrats! Keep walking, sipping, walking sipping!
