  1. It's so difficult in groups so large to grasp when others say they have lost 70 lbs in 8 weeks when that is more than I need to lose total. I need to lose 60 lbs to be "normal weight" and I sure as heck know that won't happen in 8 weeks. So realistically, how much did you lose in 4 weeks? I had surgery Friday May 17 and am down 6.7 pounds already (31 if you count my supervised 3-month diet and liquid Protein diet).

Any Los Angeles sleevers? I am looking to be sleeved I'm May. Am currently going through the per-op program at Cedars Sinai in Beverly Hills.
  3. I keep reading how everyone is loving their sleeve but so far I'm not. I will only say that I am only a week and a 1/2 out from surgery and still on full liquids. My weight loss has slowed down to a snail crawl...I have gone from losing a pound a day to .6 ounces to .4 ounces and now .2 ounces, and I'm not even 2 weeks in yet....smh...I know I shouldn't be discouraged but it's hard. I get in 75-85 grams of protein a day plus a minimum of 48 ounces of water. I am walking between 8,5000-10,000 steps a day. I am concerned that when I move on to purées it will completely stop and it's too soon to be stalling. It's a little disheartening considering I just cut 80% of my stomach out. I probably could have made just as much progress on weight watchers.

So far, not loving my sleeve

Thank you ballermom, I am trying not to get discouraged, I mean, even I wanted to now u can't quit, my stomach is already gone and I am stuck sipping liquids for life. But it is a little disheartening. I ran Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. Yesterday was my rest day and I lost the 1.4 lbs I had gained. Now I am afraid to run again. Eeeeek, not sure what to do.

Oh and it seems like I stall far more than I lose. This is just ridiculous.

So far, not loving my sleeve

Well at my 1 month surgery date (June 17) I was down 18 lbs, not too shabby but nowhere near 30 lbs+ everyone boasts about. Since June 17, I HAD (past tense) lost 3 more pounds but I started running last week and since I am up 1.4 lbs. I am so afraid/frustrated that by July 17 (just 2 weeks from today) I will only be down 5 lbs overall if that. I eat like a bird (yes I do get in all of my calories and Protein, keep my carbs under control as well as fat and sodium) an work out 4-5 days a week, keep my daily steps above 10,000. This far I have not had a day where I didn't think my sleeve was pointless. There is no way on a normal diet program (Lindora, weight watchers, etc) eating the way I do and working out the way I do a 1.6 lb loss in 2 weeks would not be considered a failure. I am also not losing a crazy amount of inches. I have been in the same size since May 27 when I lost the first 10 lbs post-op.

    May 20th

I was sleeved may 17 and am averaging 70-80 g of protein per day.
  12. I had a psych eval, past it with flying colors, 18 days post-op and posted sometime last week that I'm still not "in love" with my sleeve like most people are. I have lost 11 lbs post-op, all within 10 days and have been in a 7 day stall. I have often had feelings of "maybe this is just not going to work for me like its supposed to". I walk about 5 miles a day, stay under 750 calories, get in all of my protein and water and still no improvement. If I was just dieting the same way I'm sure I would have lost as much by now.
  13. Weigh myself every morning when I wake up and evening before bed, but frankly it's depressing me to see down .2 ounces at a time or worse yet, up .2 ounces. I promised myself I will hide my scale tomorrow and wait until next Friday to weigh again since my surgery was 2 Fridays ago.
  14. Have formals in sizes 14, 16, 18, and 20. Let me know if you are interested in seeing pics.

So far, not loving my sleeve

Thanks everyone, I know patience is definitely not one of my virtues. I know emotionally maybe it's just buyers remorse and it doesn't help that I feel sub-human because I drink all of my meals. Have decided to hide my scale and check again on June 17, my 1 month mark. For now, get ready to start chewing my purées tomorrow
  17. Thanks ladies. I'm 1 week out and lost 8.3 the first 6 days but gained back .6 on day 7, this while all still on clear liquids mind you. I can see the scale is going to make me crazy.

Oooops, is six days post op too soon?

Sleeved May 15 and Regretting it

Rainbow, I was sleeved may 17 and it has been tough when the family sits down to eat and I am sipping my broth alone upstairs so that I don't have to look at their food. At this point I would even kill for a salad. But alas, broth it is. I would suggest you don't out yourself in a situation that will only depress you more, like sitting in panera this early on. We will enjoy food one day, just decent portions of it. I am eager to get to the chopped foods phase so I can chew my food rather than sip it again.

    May 20th

I was sleeved Friday may 17, feeling much better today. Liquids going down nicely as long as I stay away from lactose bases shakes. This far I'm down 5 lbs since surgery and I fully expected to be up coming home from the hospital. Woo-hoo!

    Sleeved today 5-13-13

Eeeek!!! I get sleeved Friday. Thanks for posting, makes me less apprehensive.
  24. I am almost 2 months into my pre-op journey and I have only lost 13 lbs thus far. I have completely changed my eating habits and have been working out (cardio) 3-4 days a week, which is more than I have ever done before. I'm so scared that post-op my progress will be equally slow.
