Yes, most Drs do highly suggest waiting for at least a year. -

Okay, My date is March 4th! I just found out that my surgeon has done LESS THAN 100 sleeve surgeries. I knew that his specialty was the Band, but I didn't want to switch surgeons & prolong the process. I was just a little shocked to find that it was less than 100. Yikes. I sincerely solicite the PRAYERS OF THE SAINTS & ALL BELIEVERS. Thank you! -

Not yet, hopefully I will soon. I called insurance yesterday to check on the status & got the call today from the lady I'd spoken with yesterday. I was really happy that I heard so soon, cause she had told me to check back on Friday of this wk. I then called my surgeon's office & they said that they would try to get the approval letter faxed to them instead of just mailed so that I can schedule my date. I told her (in so many words), lol, "Let's get this crackin'!" hahaha... -
Thank u so much everyone!

Hello all! What are the TOP 3 THINGS that you've "reeped", experienced, enjoyed, after your WLS that you DID NOT even think about pre-op? For example, you may say for #1 that "I can now bend my legs behind my head & I never thought I'd want to do that". (I couldn't think of a better example, sorry! lol!) The challenge here will be to only list 3 things, but if you just can't hold it in...go for it & list away! I can't wait to see what the responses will be. :-)

Bored with food choices
mysleevemylife replied to Traci J.'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm still pre-op & waiting for approval, but it sounds like creativity will be the key here. Utilize google to find recipes & play with them as well as experiment to find different varieties of each dish that you find you like, join support groups such as this & do just as you are doing now to get great suggestions/ideas/recipes, look for facebook pages that support VSG also & you will prob find great info there as well. Try to think outside the box as much as possible & think of all of the things you liked to eat pre-op & see if there is a way to redo it so that it's VSG appropriate. Hope this helps. Just dig deep & research. You will find what works & tastes great in time. -
congrats! I'm also waiting on approval.

LOL, I have two of those in my closet that I'd purchased last year while I was on yet another diet. I was feeling sooo good when I'd bought them. I was like "I'll be in these in no time!" Then, I eventually fell off the "wagon" & there they still hang....lonely....and deserted! lol..Yes, I look forward to getting rid of my BIG clothes for good. I day dream about being in a size 9/10 & feeling sexy (which I haven't in a looooong time). I'm so ready for this. God please bless me to get approved. -

I'm right where you are as far as so-called being "selfish". I've told myself that in some ways I am & I'm not appologetic either. Now it's MY TIME TO SHINE. I deserve it.
