    Newbie here!

    WELCOME!! :-)
  4. I was super queezy to my stomach & they say I vomited, but I don't remember. They pumped me with meds asap & all was well. I actually rested soooo well in the hospital. My incisions were sore but only one really bothered me. It wasn't very bad & they all healed properly.

    Getting my hair did!

I, too know how it feels to be getting my hair done & be thinking, "Wow...look how big you've let yourself get. ugh!" I don't feel like that anymore. I'm happy about my pregress. I'm excited about more to come!!

    Hello! I'm new.

My current struggles would be not letting the scale control my mood if I see something that I don't "like". It takes patience. I don't let the scale get me "down" at all but it can get frustrating. Realize that if you work out, the scale may go up b/c it could be muscle gain. In this case, the scale can go up but the inches come down! :-) Now, getting in enough Protein is a task at times. OH, & getting in enough Water as well. It takes being mindful of the clock, planning, and being creative also. Be patient with this journey. It's awesome, in my opinion. You'll be fine if you don't quit! :-)

    Hello! I'm new.

WELCOME!!!! I was "sleeved" March 6, 2013. I love it. I feel in control of my body & I've not had this feeling of control & accomplishment health-wise in a loooong time. I thank God for this opportunity & for the strength that he gives me to make good choices every day. This is a great community with a lot of help/support & good info. There are many personalitites here but they all mean well, I believe. I'm also 30. Feel free to inbox me if you need a WLS Buddy! Best Wishes!

My love affair with food is FINALLY over!

Okay, well I totally understand that. I imagine it would be hard. You're a social worker, so I'm preaching to the choir, LOL! But, hey, I have an idea...might sound cheezy, but it works. Start keeping a journal of your journey & when you & hubby have quiet time together, share with him some of your entries. That way, you can capture how you feel when he's not there, but you will still be able to share it with him & discuss it while in bed, over dinner, chillin' on the couch...whatever you prefer! Best Wishes!
  9. LOL, I see I'm not the only Crunchy Taco fan. :-)

My love affair with food is FINALLY over!

Hi, I will pray for you & I also wish you the best. Don't be afraid to speak with a professional (Dr, counselor, pastor) to get the support/help that you need. If it is truly depression, please don't ignore it. Now, you may have meant this loosely, but in case you are serious, I just know it can get you down if unattended to. Inbox me if needed. Best wishes!
  12. I'll be 6wks out tomorrow. :-) I tried a half cup of iceberg lettuce with french dressing on it approx 1 wk ago & it went down just fine...no issues at all. My fav is Wendy's small ceasar salad with pomgranate (spelling??) dressing. I can eat the entire thing! The dressing is sweet & satisfying to me. I also enjoy the grilled leg from KFC with a side of small mashed potatoes & I KEEP THE SKIN ON! Haha...my nut said to take skin off all chicken & I though "No, I'm gonna try this & it's not gonna make me gain. I know it." & I was right. I had no issue at all with the skin. Let's see, I like Taco bell crunchy tacos also. They go down great. Inbox me if I can be of any help
  13. OH, MEANT TO SAY I WAS SLEEVED MARCH 6TH. :-)
  14. I eat ground turkey, Wendy's chili, chicken strips/tenders, yogurt, eggs, cheese, Mission Brand low carb small tortillas from which I've made pizza & also mexican pizza, let's see, canned Beans, salad with both iceberg & spinach, sausage links cut up (hot kind, yikes!! too spicey, lol), ummm...string cheese, oh I said cheese, green beans, baked beans, Soup, including potato soup, KFC grilled leg & I KEEP THE SKIN ON!! :-) with small serving of mashed potoes NO GRAVY....OH, & I've eaten fresh fruit including, blueberries, strawberries, grapes, melon, & also pineapple (had to spit out the tough parts though). That's all I can think of right off. Grilled Tilapia came back up, but I will try it again in near future. Oh, & also cottage cheese too. I like cottage cheese with a little bit of Splenda in it. I like sweet stuff, lol

Great progress! Keep up the great work!
  18. Also, good luck!!! Have fun & shine bright! God bless...
  19. My opinion would be to just mention that you recently had surgery. I would not go into what kind or anything specific. Tell him that & also that your doctor has you on a special "diet" right now until you heal. Then tell him that b/c of this, you may not be eating very heavy. I would definitely tell him this before you go out so that he will not possibly be frustrated or you for that matter. Even if you decide to "see him again" you have the choice, by not divulging it all at once, to tell him specifics when & if he deserves to know. But anyway, I'm still pre-op, not sure what to suggest other than soup or mashed potatoes if you can eat that. Sorry about the lack of suggestions.

    Why Lie?!?!

Well, I've told a few co-workers, and only three family members so far. Not sure how the rest will play out after surgery. I'll just see...
