  1. I have surgery tomorrow, I was nervous, uneasy, but a sense of calm has come over me. I am proud of forging ahead into something that scares the hell out of me for a chance at a better quality of life and not letting my fears and insecurities deny me the opportunity. I feel like a have a chance at a new life. I am really appreciative of that. Blessings, j
  2. Heres wishing you do well, mine is in less than 48 and I am having lots of different emotions about it too but I think we will be just fine.
  3. Thanks I have pretty much got to the root of my biggest fear with this surgery, and that is that I will be strarving all the time with a stomach the size of a ball point pen. Cant think of a worse way to go..
  4. The NUT said that we wouldnt be hungry at all after surgery for the first couple weeks...after reading some of your posts Im wondering how true that really is..I know their is head hunger and you have to seperate that from real hunger I am wondering if its the rule or the exception to feel hungry and deprived after surgery. I will be honest Im being sleeved in 48 hours and I and I want to know what to expect.
  5. I have been preparing for surgery Wednesday bought all my Vitamins, Protein drinks etc. And then I went through my closet and drawers. I threw away everything I hated and had to wear becuase it would fit. I threw away most of the black, stretchy, anything that wasnt my style but comprimised to wear because it fit. Feels so liberating! It is mentally preparing me for success and the good road ahead. I actually got rid of 2 large trash bags. I have been raising kids and accepting the fact that I am a mom and everyone else is first, I have been sleep deprived for 17 years..lol I dont really buy my self anything nice to wear, instead I find my enjoyment in shopping for my family, making sure they have the nice things. I used to take such pride in my appearance and now I just want to be invisible. Hence the no pic on my profile. Not anymore.
  6. Chaparra, totally forgot about taco truck tacos! ..lol you can add those to my list too.
  7. I had surgery last year (partial hysterectomy) and was given morphine it only seemed to work for 20-45 minutes then wore off, the nurses seemed surprised and asked me if I did drugs recreationally...uh.... NO I do not. lol Also the oxycontin doesent really do to much to me either. They gave me something in place of the morphine that really worked like I believe it should have but I cant remember the name of it I want to say Toradol. But I looked that up and its just an anti inflamatory. Has anyone taken Toradol in place of morphine? I want to talk to the Dr about this before my surgery so that I am not worried she will give me morphine and then I will just suffer. Any ideas of alternatives? I have the unfortunate problem of having a low tolerance for pain and a high tolerance to supposed powerful pain meds...just my luck
  8. I am being sleeved in 3 days, I think I am going to miss my morning toast the most. It is english muffin bread with real butter and it is my biggest treat all day. I will not miss wearing black, feeling invisible, being envious of the skinny girls, seeing my profile in the mirror or feeling like I want to curl up and die every time I leave a dressing room at the mall.
  9. I have been told by the np, constipation is from pain meds. I was also told to take colace ( you can buy that otc) to prevent constipation
  10. Hmm was getting a little concerned about one day liquid diet of Only liquids the day before surgery did anyone else only have to do liquids on only the day before? I see alot of ppl out their struggling with 2 weeks of only liquids feeling a bit guilty. My surgery is on Wednesday so I am just going to go all liquids from today til then. I know its too shrink the liver or make it softer.
  11. This is just what I needed THANKYOU! So motivating~
  12. I will be the next day the 27th, I am also nervous and cant wait to get my new body started! I have been getting my "groceries" and meds in order, my house sanitized, work stuff pre done. Looking at before and after pics on here to keep myself motivated, and thinking about going thru my old clothes for motivation. We can do this!!
  13. all of the above! and surgery this Wednesday, but most of all, I am afraid of not facing my fears and using them as an excuse to run right out of the hospital, seriously I would probably stop at Wendys drive thru on my way home to "self medicate" my anxiety. That's what I am afraid of. But I am not going to do that. I am going to use my big girl strength and courage and I am going to push my self through this, with no expectation of it being simple, easy, pain free or not challenging and incredibly emotional. I need it to be all of those things so I appreciate it and not take it for granted.
  14. PS I love gingerale too!!!
  15. Great video, you rocked your "on point " outfits my surgery is on Wed wish me luck.
  16. askinnierme..did you go get your preperation stuff for surgery? I did today I got liquid vitamans d and b, 2 big packs of vanilla and chocolate premier protein shakes, gas x strips, carmex, dulcolax and some really comfy pjs. I still need propel and some cream soups and sugar free popsicles. I am ready for this. I am scared of the pain the first few days, I am scared of being hungry but trapped because I cant eat because my stomache is only as big around as a bic pen. and I am going to miss bread. ALOT. I may have to have a mock funeral for it...sign a divorce decree or some other relationship severing act..lol...lets keep in touch so we can compare symptoms and moniter are progress by hearing the others.
  17. I agree this post was just what I needed. Thanks. Feeling better about my surgery on Wednesday.
  18. I am being sleeved Feb 27th and hoping to find others that are going in that day so we can compare notes. Getting nervous bought my Gas X strips today because apparently horrible gas is the numero uno complaint Scared Excited feel like Im about to go cliff diving when I have never even been on a roller coaster..lol
  19. sassieme85 I was told by the NUT that the Slimfast had too little amount of protein and since you can pysically only get so much in you want to take advantage of the most protein in everytime you consume. And also the more protein the better the weight loss numbers are..
  20. I am getting ready for surgery next week and I am trying to gather a iist of the most popular drinks for the next 2 weeks, Premier Protein Shakes, propel or g2 gatorade etc..all this isopure and unjury is starting to confuse me any ideas?
  21. KIKi my surgery is on the 27th of Feb Im scared too. Lets keep in touch with each others progress
  22. Awesome. SMO I was worried that I would be needing to be nurtured by food after going thru surgery and being in pain becuase that is how I would have handled it, with a pair of nicely buttered english muffins to be exact..lol
