  1. I know of someone that used him and was very pleased. Where are you from? I'm in Corinth.
  2. I started my preop diet July 15th and was sleeved July 31st. As of this morning I have lost 103 lbs! I am so proud of me!! :-) Im not yet half way there, but I WILL reach my goal. I am so thankful for my new lease on life.
  3. I started my prep diet on July 15th. I weighed 418. Surgery was July 31st. As of this morning I have lost 103 lbs. The best advise I can give you is make sure you are all in. But also remember, this is a marathon, not a sprint. There will be hard times, times you will feel discouraged, but attitude is so very important! You HAVE THIS!
  4. That is so awesome! Congrats!
  5. I was on Clear Liquids only for the first week. And have been on full liquids after that. So about a month and half. Counting preop. A month since surgery.
  6. July 31st for me. Lost 29 during the preop liquid and 23 since surgery. Total of 52 lbs. :-). I'm still on full liquids. Will advance to soft food Sept 5th.
  7. My hubs bought me a crusher similar to the one pictured above at Walgreens. Just put the pill in and twist the top on and pill crushed! I have to crush mine for 3 months so it was a good investment.
  8. All policies are different, but mine started covering the sleeve in 2011. I would call and speak to someone at BCBS. Best of luck to you!
  9. Mine was also clear liquids only. For 2.5 weeks. I did not cheat at all. I was to afraid to! I lost 29.7 lbs during mine. My surgeon was very proud of me. That was the best reward.
  10. Never trust a fart. So true. I call them "Sharts"....
  11. I also have to crush mine. Maybe you could do that.
  12. I was on it 2.5 weeks. I was pretty proud of my progress. :-).
  13. Surgery was yesterday. I just got home. :-). Everything went really well! Lost 29.7 lbs on the liquid diet. My dr said had not been so faithful on the diet, he would not have been able to do the surgery as my liver was still enlarged! He had to make a couple extra cuts, I have 8. But the only pain medication I had was for the 2 hr trip home. I had to walk 20 laps (which equaled 2 miles) before I could go home. I'm also an a clear liquid diet till my follow up with him a week from today. So thankful for all of your prayers and encouragement! So glad to be on the losers bench!!
  14. Awesome!! Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers! My day is Wed!
  15. You can do this. Mine is also strict. Today is day 15 for me. Surgery is Wed. Just reminding yourself why you are doing this!!
  16. It gets easier! After day 3, you're good. Just keep you head up and eye on the prize.
  17. I had to go to each of my Drs and sign a release form.
  18. You got this. I'm on day 11. It really does get easier. Just keep your eye on the prize!
  19. Luckily I don't mind them. Chocolate fudge is my fave out of them. He is truly a caring dr. And it shows. He also wants you to follow up with him once a year from now on. Something else I really liked.
  20. Today is day 10 for me. I can honestly say, I have no real cravings any more. Mine is clear liquids with 1-3 protein drinks. I usually only have 1 or 2. Love my jello tho. Lol. Just keep your eye on the prize!
  21. That is all he had on the sheet. I would ask him. Im sure there is another one he would allow.
  22. I'm preop, but I plan on tracking. I feel it's my way of being accountable. My most successful diet attempts, I tracked faithfully. I would start gaining back when I stopped.
  23. He will do an EGD. They will schedule that at your first appt. Sounds like your all set! The first visit is him going over the surgery and the risks. After my EGD I had a follow up visit. I already had my surgery date, so we also talked about the preop diet. Whatever your copay for surgery is, you will pay that 2 weeks before your surgery date. The hospital also. His preop diet is strict. Clear, sugar free liquids only with 1-3 AdvantEDGE protein drinks a day for 2 weeks, but he said if he gets in there and the liver is to large, then he will close up and make me do It for 4-6 weeks.....that's all he had to say. Lol. I started mine last Monday. After day 3, it gets much easier.
  24. A psych eval. I have a super high BMI, so he wanted me to have a cardio and pulmonary eval. If you call and speak to Angie, she will walk you they what you will need for them. It will all depend on your BMI and insurance. I worked with Angie since feb. she is awesome and thanks to her, I had everything done before my insurance mandatory 6 month diet was over.
