  1. I'm most nervous about the preop diet! Lol. Which I'm starting today. I will not allow myself to cheat. I'm excited about getting my life back! We got this!
  2. I start mine wed. My diet is clear liquids, SF jello, SF Popsicles and 1-3 advantage protein drinks. That's it. :-(. More nervous about the preop than the surgery itself! Lol
  3. I have BCBS of AL thru Lowes. They started the review on my case July 1st and it was approved the 8th. I did weight watchers as my diet, but I also went to the dr every month to cover my bases. My paper work was actually mailed in on June 21st. I was told my BCBS that when it is received, it is assigned to someone. Then it is processed in the order in which it was received. I called about every other day till I was approved to check the status. :-). They mailed my approval letter today. My surgery date is July 31st! Hope you hear good news soon!
  4. I have my date! July 31st. I'm excited, and as of now, not nervous! I start my 2 week clear liquid diet (I can have 1-3 protein drinks a day) wed the 17th. I'm more nervous about that! Lol.
  5. Had my EGD with Dr King today, got my verbal approval from BCBS yesterday, and have my surgery date! Been a exciting couple days! Dr King will be performing my Sleeve on July 31st! Start the 2 week diet a week from wed! Sooo happy!
  6. Was approved and have a date for my sleeve! July 31st! I'm so excited!!
  7. I'm also waiting. It was entered into BCBS system 7/1. I was told to allow them 30 days, but it generally takes 1-2 weeks. So I'm hoping to hear very soon. I'm in MS with BCBS of AL. (lowes).
  8. Still waiting for approval...When I talked to the insurance yesterday, I was told nothing will be entered into the computer until some type of decision is made, so I wont even know if its pending, or even being looked at yet. Im usually a very patient person, but not with this!
  9. You are NOT alone!! I am still pre-op, waiting on insurance to approve me. I started at my heaviest, 424. I was 407 yesterday. My Dr recommended the sleeve. He prefers it over the other options. Good luck to you! WE CAN do this!!
  10. I had my first consult with him. Loved him and his staff. Especially Micki! She is so awesome. Angie submitted my paperwork Monday. Just waiting now.
  11. Welcome! I'm from Corinth waiting for insurance approval! I'm using Dr King in Oxford. :-).
  12. Wow! 100% would be awesome! I have to pay my out of pocket max, which is 4k. But due to all the preop stuff so far, its down to 2900. I followed Weight watchers and had monthly dr visits. They only required 3 during the 6 months if WW, but I wanted to leave no stone unturned!
  13. I also had to do a six month diet. I can honestly say, time passed very quickly! I hope you get approved!
  14. My paperwork was suppose to be submitted Monday. The patient coordinator said she was going to actually mail it because of issues in the past with faxing. I'm going to call BC Monday to see if its been received. I followed there guidelines to the letter, so hopefully I will get a fast approval! Anyone else have experience with them?
  15. I also have BCBS of AL. My patient coordinator said she has had good luck with them in the past, so Im praying I will not have any issues. I did the six month diet, and had over 350 pages of documentation from my Drs over the last 5 yrs. I have most of the co-morbilities, so they will have to stretch to find a reason to deny me. The only thing is I did NOT lose any weight during the 6 month diet. I had to be put on steriods a couple of times for severe sinus issues, so that jacked it all up. They submitted yesterday, so my waiting begins....
  16. I am addicted to my CPAP. My sleep apnea is severe. So much so, that without my CPAP, my O2 stats plummet to around 47 while sleeping. So, for me, it isn't a wise thing to not use it. I do hope that I will not have to use it later.
  17. I know how you feel. I have about 250ish to shed. It totally overwhelms me. Completely. But I feel this is the right decision for me. I tried to do it on my own and have failed. Miserably. Best of luck to you.
  18. I meant to add that I have started protein shakes for lunch as well. I did this to help lose as much as possible beforehand first visit with him. Then in June I will be replacing breakfast and lunch just to try and make the preop diet a little easier. I've been having to many food funerals, but I have taken control back and am making better choices. My hubs is taking me out for Mother's Day/birthday dinner, and I will eat whatever I want that night, but that is it. I know this is a lifestyle change and I want to start now.
  19. I go see Dr King in June for the initial consult and scope. I've been keeping touch with Angie since Feb. :-). I will be done with my 6 month diet the first of July. I have already had my psych evaluation. And because of my high BMI I had to get clearance from a cardiologist and pulmonologist. That's done as well. From what I've been told, my insurance responds fairly quickly, so I'm hoping to happens before the end of August. I can not wait to get this over with!
  20. Dr Kings 2 wk pre op diet is clear liquids only correct?? That is gonna be the hardest part!
  21. Corinth here. And I'm using Dr King! Hoping for July date.
  22. He basically wanted to make sure I knew this was a tool, not a quick and easy fix. Make sure there was no underlying reason you will fail. At least that was my experience. I was worried, but it went well.
