I had my 3 month appt (2 weeks early) with my surgeon. He said I'm doing really well, happy with my loss and I'm textbook! And that was literally it! Whilst I'm happy with this it was such a waste of time so I know how you feel Misty! On a better note I got these really good exercises while waiting.

That's fantastic news misty. 83kg that's awesome! My 3 month is next week and I'm pretty much expecting the same thing from my surgeon too. So if you're a cynic so am I!

I was banded 3 years ago and have since had it removed and sleeved due to many complications with the adjustments. I did not lose ANY weight with the band. In fact I gained 10kg as my body went into starvation mode. I was so unhappy. When I discussed the option of the sleeve with my surgeon, he admitted to me that he jumped on the lap band band wagon and if I actually walked in now (pre any WLS) that he would suggest the sleeve. I was appreciative of his honesty. From personal experience I cannot bang on about the sleeve enough. I can actually eat and feel satisfied. If your surgeon is open to other surgeries then maybe you need to question why and educate yourself before meeting with them?!?!

Hahaha thanks! At least there will be 2 members! -
Hi yes he was my surgeon for the lap band and the sleeve. I think the team are great. Are you considering surgery? I've been trying to find other people who went to ray too!

The Good, the Bad, but Mostly, the UGLY

Post op when you wake up you will feel sooooo nauseated and not feel like anything. Then when they take you off the morphine you start to feel better but realize you are constipated from the morphine for about a week. Then you have to get through the liquid and purred phases before anything that remotely looks like food can hit your mouth. And then when your on solids you get the joy of experimenting with real foods again. But beware!! Anything high in fat or sugar will result in a dump. And believe me that's not something you'd want to experience more than once. But aside from getting through all of that...I'm only dealing with morning diarrhea and severe cramps every morning. -

I have an idea and I'm not sure whether its been suggested but it would be great if when you click to reply to threads the option of entering your weight pre, post and total loss could be entered instead of having to type it or could it be tabs or predefined fields to enter in. I find this is what people type the most in threads. Then of course you could leverage off this to add exercise and foods???

Yes it seems to not sync. Also profile details between both are different.

I do the same with a pop top drink bottle. I just partially have the lid open for the same effect.

It was orange juice. It must of had too much sugar in it. I suppose the lesson is don't order juice when going out for tea! Good luck on the plane! I don't envy you if it happens!! Have a great time and be careful with the Indian food.

I had my first dumping episode last night. OMG I certainly know what everyone is taking about. I was out for dinner and everything was fine then BANG it hit me like a ton of bricks. I started sweating feeling like I was going to pass out and vomited like I had food poisoning. I NEVER, EVER WANT TO EXPERIENCE THAT AGAIN!!!! Lesson learnt!

Hi Sarah. 20kg is an awesome achievement. I know it can get a little frustrating when there's no movement. Definitely take the other girls advice though as a dietician will know how to improve your WL. All the best and try to stay positive

So I get my results back from my bloods for diabetes and vitamins. IM NOT HAPPY... Seriously I'm two months out and my HBA1C levels are EXACTLY the same as pre op. I now have a severe vitamin D deficiency which requires a 50,000 unit tablet to boost it up and my fasting sugar levels are 10.6! What the hell is going on??? I've lost 12kg so far so I'm happy with that and now i've hit another stall. I'm so annoyed. When will things get better?

I would have thought that things would improve sooner but obviously not. Thanks everyone for your support.

Misty you keep me laughing! I really should stay away from the scales through. I even feel heavier than before. I'm really having a 'FAT day'
