    Venting-breakdown today

Give yourself a couple more weeks before your go trying on your tighter clothes. Some people have a lot more swelling than others. Just give your body a chance to heal. You'll have plenty of happy moments with your clothes:)
  3. Good luck! Hope you get surgery soon:)
  4. I agree with Takingcontrol. I had very little surgical pain, but did have a little gas pain the first few days. Just try and get up and walk around, that will help get the gas out of your belly. If all goes well with surgery, you should only have pain or discomfort for a few days. But remember everyone is different and each surgery is different, so just stay positive and focused.

    Kaiser approved?!

With Kaiser, it will be when you finally see the Dr, or his nurse practitioner. Your pretty much guaranteed once you start all your pre stuff. Nine classes though, I didn't have that much?

    Kaiser approved?!

How far are you with Kaiser?. Have you taken the first class which is like an introduction to see if surgery is something you want to commit to. After that class your regular care physician had to submit a referral. At that point the bariatric center will call you and start the process. If your BMI is 40 or more, the you'll qualify. If its lower you need to have high blood pressure, sleep apnea, high cholesterol, etc.. Also before u see the bariatric Dr you'll see a psychiatrist who will give final okay to go ahead with surgery. You'll have a few months of classes and have to lose a little bit of weight. Hope this helps.

    HEARTBURN! HELP

My Dr put me on Protonix, after I was released from hosp. It for heartburn and the buildup if gases because we eat so little, our stomachs still produce extra gases. I have not had any heartburn or acid reflex since before surgery. I tale each morning half hour begore I eat anything. Call Dr and see what he recommends. Good luck

    2 month check-in

Damn! 70# in two months. That awesome. Wish it were me. I'll be two months next week and I think I'm down only 30#
  10. My Dr did say your could have way more nausea, than with the bypass. They don't know why, but some people have it a lot worse than others. Hang in there. Hope it starts to go away soon:)

    hmmmm...maybe not SO easy

It takes about a week, at least for me, before I felt like I could get a little more down. At this point just be sure you stay hydrated. That's the most important thing right after surgery. Try and drink a protein shake, I drink premier shakes from Costco. But you have to find one you like. Good luck and in a week or so you will be stronger and feeling much better:)

    Incision question!

Oh god. pull the scab off, no way! What happened with mine, is I caught the towel on my scab. It lifted and started bleeding and oozing, it was not closed under that scab, so I would not pull scab off. The incisions do get a little darker red around them as they heal. And they start to itch as they heal. That's normal, and if you just leave them alone they will heal up hopefully without any problems. My one incision closed back up and rescabed. It's full healed at 7 weeks.

    PROTEIN BARS

I have one protein shake five days a week. I eat eggs or yogurt for breakfast, tuna for lunch, and fish, chicken or ground turkey for dinner. And between I snack on baby bells or cheese sticks. It is hard to eat everything cause we fill up so quickly, and then you have to get all your water and liquids in. I hope it does get easier to eat somewhat of a regular meal, with veggies or a salad.
  14. Wow! 152# that is awesome. You don't have far to go, and you have what so many others don't have. Your special tool:) just remember how hard it was to lose weight before WLS. Now use your tool and get back on track! You've come this far, you can do it!

    Worse thing ever!

Hate the checkout lines. They all have severe junk food:/

    Incision question!

I used triple antibiotic ointment. Per Dr orders because my incision opened a e, and I had glue. But be careful cause it does moisten the scab and you want the scab to stay. I am 7 weeks out and my scabs on the two larger incisions just came off a few days ago.

    Costco/Trader Joe Shopping list

Yum, haven't seem Persian cucumbers. How are they diff from reg ones?
  18. I was sleeved the same day! I am doing great. I am down 31# since surgery. #51 since Oct my first Dr appt. Hope to get 140:)
  19. I was one of the lucky ones too. But that's not to say I didn't have to do something. After having my first appt. and class, I was put on a pre-op diet. That was Oct.2012. I did really good ate sort of what I wanted, just kept portions down. And by my last appt. which was Dec 10 I was down 20#. That was the goal my Dr had given me to lose before surgery. So he scheduled my Sleeve Jan. 14 , 2013! It's been going good ever since, and because I was eating healthy for 3 1/2 months before surgery. I just followed the pattern after wls. Of course way way smaller meals now:)

Lol, I totally remember her coming out with that blob! I have to wonder, with all the money in the world how come Oprah, and other overweight Stars have never had gastric surgery? Or have some have had it?

    masturbation or sex safe?

You all are pretty funny in your responses:) I had sex about 2 1/2 weeks out, but probably could have sooner:) Don't worry you'll be fine. You'll know when your ready.

    Down there?

You don't shave because if you do get nicked or something, you could get staff infection or some other kind. You don't want to deal with surgery then something on top of that! They don't care what you do down there, they have truly seen thousands and don't pay much attention. They have to much to worry about, than to worry if you shaved or waxed down there. As far as a catheter, I didn't have one. I don't think anybody really needs a catheter. I was able to get up and slowly get to the bathroom and pee with little or no help.
  24. Wow! Don't ya feel great. Keep on truckin, you'll be needing a new wardrobe soon:)
