  1. This worries me! I'm 2 weeks out and can eat more then that! Ugh this makes me so nervous that this surgery won't work
  2. Thanks guys. Luckily I'm not craving "bad foods". Everything I eat is on my plan. I just don't eat meals, more like random things throughout the day. I'll try planning my meals in the beginning of the day and stick to it.
  3. Amazing! I am 12 days post op and 267 (started at 295). When I read stories like yours it seems like such a far fetched goal and i feel like it could never happen to me! Any tips or tricks to share?
  4. I don't need to be lectured about not doing it. I know I'm not supposed to. But now that I've been OKed for soft foods, I find myself falling into my old grazing habits. I'll have a string cheese, then half hour later I'll have a deli slice of turkey, then hour later some cottage cheese, etc. I'm not eating anything that isn't on my plan, but I don't want to fall into old habits! I do get in all of my water and protein for the day, and I am losing, but I know this could be bad in the future. How do you stop grazing?? I'm a stay at home mom and I'm constantly wandering past the fridge.
  5. Deff see a difference!! And I love the money pin! Lol
  6. I didn't have a revision, but I got the sleeve through Medicaid. Medicaid will cover 1 bariatric surgery per lifetime, unless it is medically necessary that you need another (band slippage, etc.). Not sure if its different in each state, but I'm in NY
  7. Some surgeons don't allow anything by mouth till after the leak test. I'm lucky, and my surgeon allowed ice chips starting in the recovery room! It felt sooo good because my mouth was so super dry! Not sore, not weak, just really really dry. Good luck! You'll do great!
  8. Me too. I eat a lot of the full liquid stuff with some purée like eggs and cottage cheese and other soft cheeses. Can't do purée meats yet lol
  9. I was on purée since the hospital
  10. Did restriction come once you were on solids?
  11. 10 days out and food/liquid seems to be going down too easy. I never eat more then the serving I'm supposed to.. But what I can eat goes down with ease. I get well over 80oz of Water in daily. Im on a puree diet and I can eat a whole egg within 20 min, and 4 oz of yogurt or cottage cheese without an issue. Those are the servings I'm recommended, but I see people on here that can barely eat a few bites. I also just had 4 oz of puréed chili with a bit of sour cream and ate it in 15 min. I sometimes feel like I haven't been sleeved! I'm going for my post op checkup tomorrow, so I'll ask him, but was wondering if I was the only one. Edit** I don't eat a whole egg and yogurt at the same time.. I eat one or the other.
  12. I'm 9 days post op and I'm fine with spicy food. I eat Tabasco on my eggs or beans, and I can eat hot and sour soup (which is very spicy). No heartburn, no problems.
  13. I see posts like this and wonder if my doc really sleeved me!! Shakes make me really sick, so I actually just ordered a sample pack of syntrax nectar, but anyway, I can drink crystal light and other clear liquids pretty quickly. I can take decent size swallows and not have it hurt. I can also eat a whole hard boiled egg all mashed up (I'm in purée stage) in a half hour and be comfortable. I was just sleeved July 3 '13. I can also comfortably eat egg drop soup (or something similar) a cup or so over an hour. Should I be able to do this?! I've lost 18lbs in the 9 days since surgery, but I'm worried once I start eating solids that I'm not going to have restriction!
  14. I've made meatballs and meatloaf without breadcrumbs before and they came out perfect! I also cooked them in the crock pot so it was super tender!
  15. This makes me nervous because I'm 8 days out and can eat more then you. I could eat a whole scrambled egg over half hour. And my doc has me on purée too.
  16. I agree with the miralax. It mixes with anything and is tasteless.
  17. I wouldn't recommend the mag citrate. That will literally have you running to the bathroom for hours! Miralax helped me. But in emergencies where I haven't gone in days and feel uncomfortable, I use milk of magnesia
  18. I don't think this is true. My surgeon released me from the hospital on purée. Actually, I had to eat a purée lunch tray in the hospital before he would release me. I'm 8 days post op and down 16lbs with a complication free sleeve.
  19. My weight loss stopped too. I lost 15lbs the first 5 days! Then I've been the same weight for 3 days. But I'm on puréed. I have to buy a tape measure because we could all be losing inches!
