    Birthday!

If you look up the Bariatric Foodie on google, she has tons of recipes for everything including desserts! See if something on there looks good to you. Happy birthday!

    Pictures of last 2 dinners

Tonight I had a meatball with sauce and melted mozzarella! Yummmm How is a tortilla sitting for you? I'm not allowed any kind of break product till like 8months to a year according to my dietician.

    spaghetti

My plan doesn't allow any carbs (pasta, bread, rice, etc) Until your pretty much at goal weight. I have had meatballs with sauce though, and that sat fine!
  4. How far out are you? My doc said for the first 2 months he doesn't count calories. Just make sure I'm getting in enough protein/water.
  5. I don't need to be lectured about not doing it. I know I'm not supposed to. But now that I've been OKed for soft foods, I find myself falling into my old grazing habits. I'll have a string cheese, then half hour later I'll have a deli slice of turkey, then hour later some cottage cheese, etc. I'm not eating anything that isn't on my plan, but I don't want to fall into old habits! I do get in all of my water and protein for the day, and I am losing, but I know this could be bad in the future. How do you stop grazing?? I'm a stay at home mom and I'm constantly wandering past the fridge.

    Eating too much

This worries me! I'm 2 weeks out and can eat more then that! Ugh this makes me so nervous that this surgery won't work

    Grazing..

Thanks guys. Luckily I'm not craving "bad foods". Everything I eat is on my plan. I just don't eat meals, more like random things throughout the day. I'll try planning my meals in the beginning of the day and stick to it.

Happy 1 Yr Surgiversary to ME!

Amazing! I am 12 days post op and 267 (started at 295). When I read stories like yours it seems like such a far fetched goal and i feel like it could never happen to me! Any tips or tricks to share?
  9. Deff see a difference!! And I love the money pin! Lol
  10. I didn't have a revision, but I got the sleeve through Medicaid. Medicaid will cover 1 bariatric surgery per lifetime, unless it is medically necessary that you need another (band slippage, etc.). Not sure if its different in each state, but I'm in NY
  11. 10 days out and food/liquid seems to be going down too easy. I never eat more then the serving I'm supposed to.. But what I can eat goes down with ease. I get well over 80oz of Water in daily. Im on a puree diet and I can eat a whole egg within 20 min, and 4 oz of yogurt or cottage cheese without an issue. Those are the servings I'm recommended, but I see people on here that can barely eat a few bites. I also just had 4 oz of puréed chili with a bit of sour cream and ate it in 15 min. I sometimes feel like I haven't been sleeved! I'm going for my post op checkup tomorrow, so I'll ask him, but was wondering if I was the only one. Edit** I don't eat a whole egg and yogurt at the same time.. I eat one or the other.

    Please explain

Some surgeons don't allow anything by mouth till after the leak test. I'm lucky, and my surgeon allowed ice chips starting in the recovery room! It felt sooo good because my mouth was so super dry! Not sore, not weak, just really really dry. Good luck! You'll do great!

    Full Liquids

Me too. I eat a lot of the full liquid stuff with some purée like eggs and cottage cheese and other soft cheeses. Can't do purée meats yet lol

    Full Liquids

I was on purée since the hospital
  15. Did restriction come once you were on solids?

    Husband problems..

At first he was all supportive and into it. Now that surgery is only 10 days away he's gotten really snippy. He told me that I'm so obsessed with this surgery that he's tired of hearing about it and he even went as far to say that I'm being selfish and not putting my family first. He also said I'm neglecting my "duties" as a housewife/mom because I'm so obsessed with surgery. Part of me thinks he's scared and insecure, but when I ask him he denies it and says "if your going to leave then just leave". Maybe that's his ego. We've been together for 5 years, married for 2, and have 2 kids together. We usually have a pretty good relationship too. Anyone else dealing with a significant other like this?

    Water?

Surgery in 6 days! Yay! Anyway... I'm doing all my shopping for post op and I had a question. It's hard for me to take in a lot of water now.. I can only imagine post op. But I can take in things like crystal light and diet iced tea just fine. I'm wondering if my weight loss will be effected by taking in diet drinks, rather then plain water? I know, probably a stupid question, but I'm a perfectionist and I want to do everything possible to optimize my weight loss.

    Spicy Food

I'm 9 days post op and I'm fine with spicy food. I eat Tabasco on my eggs or beans, and I can eat hot and sour soup (which is very spicy). No heartburn, no problems.
  19. I see posts like this and wonder if my doc really sleeved me!! Shakes make me really sick, so I actually just ordered a sample pack of syntrax nectar, but anyway, I can drink crystal light and other clear liquids pretty quickly. I can take decent size swallows and not have it hurt. I can also eat a whole hard boiled egg all mashed up (I'm in purée stage) in a half hour and be comfortable. I was just sleeved July 3 '13. I can also comfortably eat egg drop soup (or something similar) a cup or so over an hour. Should I be able to do this?! I've lost 18lbs in the 9 days since surgery, but I'm worried once I start eating solids that I'm not going to have restriction!
  20. I've made meatballs and meatloaf without breadcrumbs before and they came out perfect! I also cooked them in the crock pot so it was super tender!
