    Any March Sleevers?

I think when you've been overweight basically your whole life, you get used to not feeling "worth it" or feeling like you don't deserve the best. We get used to failing. We have to STOP this way of thinking. We ARE worth it. We CAN do it. When we start our pre op diets, we just have to keep thinking that we CAN, and we WILL, and we are WORTH THE TROUBLE, damn it.

    Self-Pay Sleevers

6800 in Juarez w/ Dr. Rodriguez. More expensive than the other Mexican locations, but Dr. Rod is dual certified in WLS and endoscopy. So after surgery he scopes you to check everything out. Also he is certified in America, and does surgeries in Las Vegas. I feel very safe and comfortable about this. Airfare from GA for 2 ppl is about 1200 in March. So $8000 total for me.

    Any March Sleevers?

Are ya'll telling everyone you're getting it done, telling just a handful of friends/family, or keeping it completely secret? I've told about 10 ppl total. I just don't feel like advertising it all over FB etc. I don't really want to open myself up to potential negativity, you know? I'm sure once I drop all this weight within the first few months (6 months, 8 months, whatever) people will be asking how. I will probably tell the ones who specifically ask but I'm not going to be running around screaming the news.

    Any March Sleevers?

I don't think I have to do an upper GI. Since I'm going to Mexico, they'll do my pre-op tests the day before, but I think it's just bloodwork. I could be wrong. I have to do a diet for 10 days before surgery to shrink the liver. I'm very nervous about the pre surgery diet more so than the surgery! I HAVE to stick with it and do it or else my liver won't be suitable for surgery and they'll send me home. It's not a risk I'm willing to take so I'm pretty sure I will get through it, I just know it's going to be hard. With mine it's not a liquid diet though. It's protein shakes/bars, lean chicken and fish, and green veggies and a couple pieces citrus fruit per day. So that''s really not too bad and I should get through it Basically low carb b/c I have to limit carbs and sugars.

    Pre-Op Protein Suggestions

I won't be starting until March 2 (surgery is March 12 and I only have to do it for 10 days). I am SO NERVOUS about sticking to this for 10 days. I know its absolutely necessary for surgery though so the liver won't be harmed. I think I will picture myself getting sent back home with no surgery whenever I get so ravenous I can't stand it...that image should take away the hunger

    Any March Sleevers?

Well I consider myself very blessed bc my parents are paying for mine. I just had to pay for the flight for me and my husband. My ultimate goal is 140. Anything less would be icing on the cake (haha). At 140 I would be wearing a size 5/6. I've been 160 and wore an 8 (and was literally starving myself to death...miserable), so I think thats a pretty accurate guess. That's about 110 lbs to lose. To be honest, I will be THRILLED when I get to 160...but I've heard plenty of sleevers say "don't sell yourself short" and "shoot for the moon" so to me 140 is a dream weight.

    Any March Sleevers?

Hey! I'm scheduled for March 12. Beyond excited, and just a little nervous. Wish it was getting done tomorrow (or today!). Going to Juarez, Mexico, Dr. Rodriguez.
