  1. Hey everyone! I would love see some of the BEST transformations. From before gastric sleeve to after completely healed from tummy tuck and breast reconstruction. I'm wondering if it's a completely unrealistic picture in my head to see myself looking great in a bikini with no loose tummy skin or saggy boobies. I KNOW plastics are in my future because I would hate to lose all the weight and STILL be self conscious from loose skin. Please post pics if you've lost all your weight, gotten a tummy tuck, and are completely healed from the surgeries. Thanks!!

    Any March Sleevers?

D mixon I know just how you feel. I actually get tears from time to time thinking of things I wont be able to do (eat a hamburger AND hotdog on 4th of july, eat a whole watermelon, get a 5 course meal on cruises) but then I mentally slap myself. Who cares what I wont be eating?? I will be too busy living to miss it! I will be able to play tennis again, run around playing with my kids, fit into the theater seats comfortably...SHOP! I am giving up something good for something better!

I want to get some sexy budior photos done when its all said and done and pretend like im a victoria secret model for the day (and every time I see them) I guess I would say that's my ultimate goal

    Three weeks post op

Shouldn't you be able to eat any of the stage 2 baby foods? There are some really good organic ones now in pouches. Some really interesting combos that I feed my twin girls, like pear spinach and apple carrot mango. They love them, and I plan on eating those during my puree/soft phase.

    Any March Sleevers?

futuresleever: I've been told to start taking vitamins and biotin NOW so I plan on going in the next day or so go get some of that to start taking. If you've never had protein shakes before or if you can be picky, a lot of people go ahead and start trying out different protein powders to see which ones they like before hand. I can eat/drink pretty much anything and the shakes don't bother me at all even if they're not the greatest. so I'm not really worried about that too much. pacificpeach: how about fish? You can eat as much fish as you want (as long as it's baked or broiled). Ground turkey for meatloaf or burger patties (no bun). Egg white omelette (can do plain, or with a little cheese, or veggies!). Protein shakes of course work well for meals on the go or quick lunch. You can do protein smoothies (greek yogurt, fresh fruit, spinach, protein powder, splash of soy milk, ice cubes (i like to also add chia seeds and flaxseed): blend very well), chicken fajitas without the tortilla (the fajita chicken with peppers and onions). Just a few ideas. I did south beach diet for a LOOOONG time and its basically this type of pre op diet.
  6. Omg thank you so much! Your experience sounds WONDERFUL! And...GO WEIGH YOURSELF!! Haha! A week is a long time with this surgery and you've probably dropped more weight than you realize! Im curious to know how you're doing on weight loss )

@fiddleman ppl are genuinely concerned about the effects of smoking if you've have vgs surgery. As for me, I get caveman sized munchies so I came looking to see how the munchies effect your sleeve, or vice versa. Also, some ppl suggest using it to help with the pain and anxiety of surgery for the first few weeks or whatever. It seems bogus but it really is a relevant topic.
  9. Hey everyone. Im still pre op but im trying to plan. Having surgery march 12 in mexico. I know they say no lifting over 10 lbs for like 6 weeks. Well I have 10 month old twins and a 2 yr old. Surgery or not, they have to get out of bed, have baths, get fed, get changed, put back to bed...see where im going? I don't rly have to pick up the toddler, she can do most of the work herself. But the twins...they weigh about 23 lbs (give or take). I will have help when my husband is home, and I do have a babysitter that comes a few days a week to help me out. I will have family helping when they can, but let's be honest. There wont ALWAYS be someone here to help for those whole 6 weeks. Do y'all think its going to be ok if I have to pick up the babies shortly after surgery? It'll kind of HAVE to be ok, they have to be taken care of lol...I just kind of wanted to see if anyone else had the surgery and had babies to go home to and take care of, and if it was un-eventful?

    Any March Sleevers?

Kodiesmom - im from georgia...TOTALLY understand where you're coming from! Here, food is life...its at the center of everything we do. That's why nearly every person I know is overweight and obese! Thankfully my surgeron requires low carb/high protein diet and not liquid only. Godspeed to you with that!! daddyjoe-baby im going to tell you like I've told myself. If you COULD diet like that the rest of your life to be thin and healthy, you WOULD have by now. I've lost weight before on those diets too, massive amounts, kept it off about a year or so then it came right back on! I just can't live like that without something physically stopping me. Sure, with the surgery we essentially eat low carb diets. But with surgery, if we "cheat" and east pasta, one spoonfull will fill us up instead of the 3 bowlfulls we would have without the surgery. It gives us a fighting chance to re train our brain before we can physically sabotage ourselves. idk if that made sense to anyone. Feel like im rambling.

    Any March Sleevers?

I love very nearly ALL food. Seriously, from a prtzel and hot dog to a 5 star gourmet meal of escargot, caviar, etc. Hate is such a strong ugly word. Lol very FEW foods I actually hate. I can't eat a plain tomato or a slice of tomato on a sandwich. I don't like turnip roots (but love the greens), and rutabeggas are pretty gross.

    Any March Sleevers?

Last night I had a mini panic attack. I started thinking all kind of thoughts like "what if I die, who will take care of my babies (I have 4), will they ever forgive me, what's really on the other side if I do die, will I be able to watch them grow, im too young to die, I can't live like this anymore I HAVE to have the surgery, I better write notes to my family just in case but you can't put everything you want to say to your babies for their lives into a letter..." you see, that's just an example of my thoughts that come rapid-fire. I know im getting the surgery, no question. I just try not to think of what if...but then again I have to think of it just in case. Ugh I wish I could turn off those thoughts though. Im sorry, im just kind of venting bc I don't really have anyone to talk to in RL who can actually understand and sympathize with what im going thru. Also, I've been off aspartame for about 9 days (stopped diet coke, life long addict) and im starting to have the mental part of withdrawals which includes anxiety/nervousness. That isn't helping these feelings/thoughts.
  19. Im just waiting...march 12th is my date. Im counting down the days when you get a chance cld you give us a run-down from your arrival there through now? I would love a play by play

    Giving up Diet Soda

I actually got the great value brand from walmart. Its cheaper but basically the same. The berry one is the best tasting one to me. It also has b-vitamins!
