  1. 2 week pre-op diet. Only 2 protein drinks and a small meal. I lost 10 lbs.
  2. So true I was just thinking about that too. I usually had to go pee alot. Especially when I started my pre-op diet and I increased my Water intake. Now I don't go as much.

    Itching...

I had a reaction to the adhesive and steri strips used. Once I was able to get them off it has improved. I'm using Bio-Oil to help with dryness which adds to the itchiness.
  4. Sneezing. I was sleeved on 2/19/13 and sneezing last week just about did me in. Stomach binder- your best friend until you put it on or take it off. Hurt like hell but worth that initial pain. Helped me walk and mover sound better. Bowel movements if you are lucky enough to have them are watery. I was lucky in hat I could handle and drink all my liquids but my stool wasn't diarrhea but it wasn't solid either. Couldn't sleep right for about a week after surgery. I slept on the recliner but throat get my neck. Sleep on the bed but just was uncomfortable. Averaged about 4 hours a night. It's gotten better. Emotional-cry for no reason. Comes and goes quickly. Comfy clothes are key. Don't expect to put on your jeans the first week. Gas and liquid compete for the same space. I would drink some Water and as the water went down the gas came up. They would pass each other in my throat and create a knot and an ugly sensation. I get a pain in my chest that lets me know I can't eat anymore. That's my full signal for now.
  5. Happened to me too. I was in the kitchen eating some broth. Next think I know in crying into my broth. It made it salty. Hubby comes in asks me what's wrong and I say I don't know. He even offered to bring me a puppy (our dog had a puppy) so that I could hold it to make me feel better. I have had that happen a couple of times for no reason. It's just all that extra estrogen that was trapped in your fat cells being released into your system.

    3 weeks po stall

I'm having that too. I lost 10 lbs on the pre-op diet and now lost an additional 16 for a total of 26th. I was sleeved on 2/19/13 and I feel I hit a stall these past few day.

    Newly sleeved 2.28.13

Day 5 and on is the key. It's amazing how you can go from feeling like death to pretty darn good in less than 24 hours. I remember crying in the shower from the pain. A stomach binder helped me with the pain. But when I took it off to shower and change boy did it hurt. I still feel a little tugging sensation in that right incision but its getting better every day. No more burning pain there. I was sleeved on 2/19/13.

    FRUSTRATED!

I'm in the same boat. Reading the replies makes me feel better but I still have that little kernel of worry on back of my head thinking what if I'm the one it won't work on. Just need to see the scale move down again and it will put me at ease.

    Pregnancy

My surgeon said wait a year. Although they don't encourage you to get pregnant before then so that you can achieve max weight loss, they told us if it happens then come talk to them immediately so that they can work with your OB/GYN to ensure your health and the baby's health. That being said I'm not gonna try for at least a year. I have no kids and I would like at least one. I'm going to be 39 in May.

    How did they close you?

Staples that were removed the next day after surgery followed by adhesive and steri strips which gave me a bad rash. Steri strips have fallen off now. I have internal stitches which should dissolve on their own. Surgeon did that only for the right incision where he took out my stomach. Said he did that to make sure that I didn't develop a hernia. I was sleeved on 2/19/13.

    Worse photo ever!

This is not my worst by far but when I sit you can see my tires and my chunko legs. Hopefully the pics will get better and better. I too avoid taking pictures as well.
  12. I was having that problem too. I was sleeved on 2/19/13. I talked to the surgeon and he said give it time and he was right. This weekend I finally started sleeping better. Give it time.
  13. I had my first sneeze almost 2 weeks after surgery and it hurt. Unfortunately my sneezes tend to come in 3's so I had 2 more coming. I just held on to my right side and let it happen. I survived but my tummy feels sore. Other than that I'm doing better everyday. I get all my fluids in and I'm starting to eat food. Taking one more week off of work just to rest and to actually enjoy my time off.

    Had my first sneeze

Nope plus I was in the car. Thank God my hubby was driving. I got a stomach binder but I stopped using it so I could letter air circulate since I got a rash from the adhesive and Steri strips used. Plus I don't need the binder anymore.

    What to tell work people

I told some people. Found it easier to tell people I wasn't close to than close friends. Mostly I told others hat I had a hietal hernia repaired and bc of that have to watch what I eat hence the weight loss. I had tell my HR person and the company owner and I think she told some people but not much I can do about that at this point. Told hubby under penalty of death that he couldn't let his family know bc they like to amuse themselves making fun of people.

    Sleeve stretch?

I have used the premier protein in chocolate and vanilla and EAS carb control. All are the ready to drink type. I found they were more convenient with my job.

    Sleeve stretch?

I got sleeved on 2/19/13. I was on clear liquid until yesterday. I'm able to drink 5+ bottles of Water. I don't have to sip bc I can take a normal drink out of them.
  19. Susie1226

    Sleeve stretch?

I feel the same way. I have no problems with liquids and today I had real food and felt no restrictions. It kinda freaks me out that I can eat without any problem.
  20. What kind of pre-op diet do you have? I lost about 10 lbs on mine. I could only have 2 protein drinks and a small meal for dinner. I was to avoid all carbs and limit my fat.

    Seeking Buddies 5'2" & Under

  22. Unfortunately, friendships change. This is your time and you should be proud and feel good about what you have done. Hang in there and let them know you are here for them but you have a right to be selfish because you are taking care of your health.

newbie here to vent and seek support

Those aren't friends. You have told them to stop and they won't. Don't let anyone disrespect you. I think you just need time to wrap your head around the new you. As silly as it may sound, pick one thing you like about yourself and compliment yourself on it. Do it everyday and little by little you will feel it. Write down your thoughts and try to do things you enjoy that your new body is now letting you do. I think we all have armor of some kind. It's hard but we have to let our walls down otherwise we don't let good come in. Unfortunately the bad will come in too. You have done so well be proud. I'm proud of you. I'm here for you if you need to vent. Most important thing you can do is to surround yourself with positive people who will support you.
