  1. You need to call your surgeon's office and see what they say (and let them know that you took it and how much). As a general rule, ibuprofen is not allowed after bariatric surgery.
  2. As incidental means "not serious" or an issue that when present does not need to be treated, I don't think that's a good choice of words. Unlikely or rare would be more accurate.
  3. Good luck! And please keep us posted
  4. You are not supposed to cross post (post the same thing on multiple threads) according the the bariatric pal terms of use agreement and I see that you've posted this in at least 10 places. You are also hi-jacking these threads. Just letting you know.
  5. I agree. Nothing to fret about. I have suffered with clinical depression and anxiety for 30 years (I've addressed both) - took the MMPI2 with no problems. They don't expect us to be perfect. I don't think many people get to the point of needing bariatric surgery without having some issues.
  6. Good luck tomorrow, Denise!
  7. That's very good to know! I will remember this for when I'm finally to the point of needing plastics. Please keep us posted on your search for a surgeon. I live in the Dallas area, too.
  8. Not trying to be inflammatory, but my surgeon refuses to do bariatric surgery on vegetarians or vegans because he does not believe it is possible to get enough protein in without excessive carb calories. I have no idea if that's true or not.
  9. HW: 262 May 2014 CW: 245 Height 5'4" Age: 46 22 - 24W pants, 2X to 3X shirts (I like them loose) Waiting for my surgery date
  10. Each facility has the option of deciding the interest rate you will get. The lower the rate you have to pay, the smaller portion of the amount put on care credit the facility actually gets. Some facilities do not offer the 12 month no interest because they lose so much profit. Definitely something you want to check on before you put a lot on a care credit card. In addition, there is a $200.00 per transaction minimum to be eligible for a promotional rate. Sorry I don't have any DFW surgeon info - just wanted to make sure the care credit thing was cleared up.
  11. Great recommendations! Thank you very much .
  12. No - it's just required by my surgeon
  13. Loved this. You are a great writer and an inspirational human being.
  14. @@BellaLuce4 thank you! I think I'll try starting the liquid diet a little early .
  15. Thanks @@Summer Rain
  16. Just found out today that I passed my psych eval, which was the last step in a long process. The information was submitted to my insurance this afternoon (to get approval for sleeve) and they said I should hear back within a week! I'm really excited - it's starting to seem like this is really going to happen. I first logged onto bariatric pal January 2013 - it's been a long road with many ups and downs. Now I just have to lost those last 12/13 pounds off to get 10% of my weight off. In some ways, it seems like my appetite has gone up a lot. I'm not sure if it's stress about the upcoming challenges, other things that are going on in my life - or some weird self-defeating behavior. I really hope I can get this back under control in time to get the rest of the required weight off. Any advice on this last part very appreciated .
  17. I go to a group that meets the first Tuesday of the month at Methodist mansfield. I really like it. It is free and anyone can attend.
  18. Congratulations!!! I'm so happy for you .
  19. Is there another psychologist that your surgeon uses? Could you make another appointment to see the first one to try to clear everything up?
  20. I really don't think you blew anything. The purpose of the psych eval is not to determine if you need the surgery or if you have co-morbidities. She is there to see if you know what you're getting into and are psychologically able to handle all of the changes and challenges that come with it.
  21. From what I've read on other threads, saying you didn't have surgery when you did is not lying.
