May I ask why gummies are a no no?I'm pre-op but I am compiling my list of post-op needs.
I was told it was because of the sugar content somewhere along the line. Can anyone else confirm? Hmmm I think I'm wrong though but I already posted sorry!

I totally relate to these posts. I am on day 10 of the pre op liquid diet and having a really hard time today. I only have today which is all most over' date=' tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday goes to all clears and then Wed is the day. I am on day two of my period and so extra emotional today. I went from so strong to extra weak!!! So frustrated. [/quote']You're almost there! Hang on.

That is great! I am glad we do. I might still end up going to Goodwill. A friend of mine just lost 100 lbs on her own doing herbal stuff and she is shopping there, she says "I have all the name brands now" LOL

Just throwing it out there.........wouldn't it be nice NOT to have to buy clothes for a temporary stage? If we could just post what size we needed and someone that has "shrunk" out of that size would mail them to you and then you just pay it forward to the next person? No cash.....just people helping others.

I had it for a while too and they gave me a medication for ulcers. It was chalky like some of those over the counter medicines. I ended up having an allergic reaction to it, but I was able to take it for two weeks before that happened, but it was long enough for it to fix whatever was wrong. My doctor said it could be an ulcer or just irritation along the suture line.

I have liquid multivitamins and my Biotin and niacin pills I chop up with my
smoothies, but you can get your Vitamins from anywhere. I dont taste them when i put them in my smoothies, maybe try them at different time of the day as well. Some
doctors try and make you buy theirs so they can make money, but you can get the
Vitamins anywhere, they are Vitamins its no special kind, get something that works for you. Good luck:)
Take your bottle to the store and compare the ingredients. This lady is correct.

I just know it was not a pleasant two weeks of dieting, but I did follow what my physician told me to do, and yes I did survive it. For those of you who don't have to do it or get easier diets, YAY for you!!!!! But honestly, follow your doctor's wishes because there is logic behind their rules. Oh....BEST OF LUCK!! This is a short two weeks to the NEW YOU!

How are you going to take them post op? I bought liquid vitamins for post op so I wouldn't have to worry about crushing them up. It was Centrum brand. If you are pre op now, I would just get some regular Vitamin pills that you take.

I bought some 4 oz and 8 oz containers for just that reason. It makes it easier for me. Being overfull is VERY uncomfortable. I made that mistake a few times and after reading on here, I saw that suggestion. It helps me.

I had a few minutes of thinking about "not" being able to eat "normal" anymore. But then I realized, I obviously don't eat normal or I wouldn't be this big. And if I still want to taste a certain food, I CAN! I do agree with the other person who stated that this is a TOOL though. We have to make better choices for our health. It has been a great tool!! Makes it so much easier!! And like GingerRN, my knees and feet THANK ME EVERY DAY!! Even my work outs are so much easier now.....putting my shoes on is easier. LIFE is easier..........very happy customer with my new tool.

I was just reading a similar post and someone mentioned HOT stuff. The hot stuff is what got me through it as well. It seemed to satisfy me better.

I agree with NurseGrace, HOT stuff helped me. I was allowed Tomato Soup and low fat strained cream of chicken Soup (or cream of mushroom. That is what tided me over between shakes

I went for my 4 week post op visit and I didnt know about the three week stall and I talked to the PA about my weight loss stall and she told me that I wasnt losing because I was eating too few calories. She told me I had to eat at least 1000 calories a day. I managed it for a few days, but I am back down to about 850. I am getting all the Protein in, but its just so hard to get those calories right now. I am trying, but some days I don't get there, but I do get my protein in.

I had a friend that was doing the HCG diet and her insurance would only pay until she got to a certain weight so she would wear sweat pants that were tight at the ankle and she wore ankle weights above the cinched in area........LOL.

So far not nervous. Report time 7 am....packed my bags. Cleaned everything in the house including the dogs lol. Now I wait....
I was a nervous wreck too. I didn't have any problems. It was smooth sailing. I wish you the best of luck in your surgery and recovery.

I am only 5 weeks out today, so I've been where you are, but I am not an expert. I was on liquids for two weeks after surgery, then mushy/pureed for two weeks and this week I started solids.
It does get easier. I had to make myself drink my shakes for the first few weeks. I have a hard time figuring out when I get full, the sensation comes very fast. I go from nothing to overfull very quickly.

I think fish is pretty easy to get in also. Its very soft if you bake it in the oven.
All of my December sleevers...
