All natual ,low cal and you can make a large batch it keeps for about two weeks. This was my grandmothers recipies so it is time tested and true.

    DeLarla's Weekly Fun Thread

I also fif every diet in the world, must have lost 1000 bs in my life I did everything from the liquid protien, to going to South Carolina (Duke University)for three months to live on rice and grapefruit, fat camp, weight watchers, even had my jaw wired for one year (lost 100lbs) I could only drink. I did the injections, the amphetamins, I even figured that since I was an evening muncher I would try taking sleeping pills when I got home from work so I would go right to sleep and not binge ( this was pre kids) The 18th of FebI was one month since being banded and am down 27lbs. My first fill is March 14 and so far so good.

    Post Surgery Question

I was able to lift my little one the night of my surgery. I went in at 7:00 in the moring and I was home by 5:00 p.m. same day. I just made certain that the staples were covered with bandaids or gauze so they didn't catch on any thing. I asl did not have to take any pain medication so that helped me be alert for the kids. My mom did come to help drive them to school for two days because I was not allowed to drive for two days after the surgery othr than that everything else was easy. Good luck and let us know how you do.

Tell me what you are wearing.....

I wore sweats and loose t-shirt the first two days after surgery and no Bra but on day four I went back to work so I bought some large size silver healing band-aids and covers the incisions, was able to wear a bra and I swear that the silver healing helpd the inscions heal quickly with less scarring than I thought I would have. I also used vitamin E 30.000 mgs to moistuize after the saples were removed they say it helps reduce the scaring as well. Good luck on your surgery.

How soon did you eat Jello?

Hi Jonathan, I ate Jello the day after surgfery, if youind it hard to digest try keeping it in your mouth for a few seconds to liquify it, itis a good source of protien.

    going from liquids to soilds

HI Julie, My Dr. put me on liquid vitamins, calcium and B-12 for life. The best source of calcium and the cheapest is Tums Ultra you only need one per day. The B-12 comes in thin strips made by Jamison. As for going onto solids, I went fro Liquid to puree then to solids it seemed like and easy transition, You are right when you say moist foods, like stews are a good start, but check your lean cuisine they are very high in salt which I found to be irratating to my stomach.Perhaps thick soups would be easy for you to try first and they take a long time to eat so you really so feel full quickly.

    Liquid Vitamins

I found vitamin B-12 thin strips, they melt easy on your tongue and have a mint taste, they are made by Jamison, ( easier to take that the b 12 pills I found)
  18. Yesterday I finally got my staples out ( 13 days after being banded) the openigs are healing well and I have lost twelve pounds but still feel very swollen, Does anybody know how long this lasts? Also I still am having trouble eating more than a few tablespoons of food per meal and I don't even have a fill yet did anybody else have the same problem and how long does it last?
  19. That is how the Dr. here in Montreal does it he says it has less chance of infection and leaves less of a scar.
  20. Thanks for all the support it really helps to take advie from people who have really been there and can understand. I go for my first fill MArch 14 and am wondering how much less I will be eating than now since I am having less than a cup of food a day. Also when did you all start to eat non puree foods?

    LapBand Food Stages Lists Suggestions

HI, My dr. and nutrionist told me that lite jllo was a good source of protien and to start eating it from day three on but to make certain that I liquify it in my mouth before swollowing. When I learned that I had to take vitamins, calicum and B12 I found liquid vitamins and B12 thin strips which made taking these supplements much easier that the calcium. Hope this isi helpful.

  23. Hi everybody, This is day four after getting banded and things are going well except that I am finding it very hard to eat everything that the Dr. prescribed on a daily level, Just wondering if anybody else has experienced the same thing, and if you did what did you do about it?

    Just got banded

I have a specific diet set out by the doctor, the first three days was just clear liquids and sugar free jello because what I learned was that jello is a form of almost pure protien, on day four I was suppose to start on some milks and milk products like watered down yogurt, and some cream of what made with milk ( only about 2 tbs of each at a time). Day seven to 12 is more puree of veggies and white mets and so on. I just am not thirsty or hungry enough at all to even eat 1/4 of what I am supposed to. Tomorrow I go back to work so I hope that will make it better.
