However, I would like to find out what everyone is eating one year post op? I currently have 3 meals per day at 1/2 cup (80 meat/20 veggie/fruit) 2 to 3 Snacks - high in protein/or a Protein shake 1 cup of coffee w/creamer What are the rules for eating at this point? Am I eating enough? Am I eating too much! Help!
  2. Ok, so I guess I didn't give enough information! I guess I got a little excited! I was sleeved on 12/10/12 - just about a year! My highest was 225 and I am now 118! I am not sure if I want/need to lose anymore...but I would not like to gain anything (except maybe muscle)! My day is usually this: 6AM - Half of a boiled egg/half of a piece of fruit Coffee/Water on the way to work and first hourish 8:30 or so - I have one packet of plain oatmeal with half a scoop of chocolate/vanilla Protein powder/with exactly 6 to 8 almonds. 10:30 or so - Celery with Low fat Greek Yogurt Ranch Dip (Homemade) 12:30 or so- lunch (Usually, 1/2 cup of baked chicken/green beans) 2:30 or so - Try to put down a Protein Drink 4:30 or so - cheese Stick If i work out - I like to have the other half of my egg from the morning/and half of the other piece of fruit about 30 min before (I get too winded if I don't) Between 7 and 8PM (depending on if i workout) - dinner 1/2 cup of 80% meat 20% Veggie I am pretty active! I workout at the gym at least 3 to 4 days a week! I absolutely love at home work out DVD's - Jillian Michaels is my hero! And I love Jari Love's Ripped DVD - it will get you into tip top shape! I try to drink a lot of Water...but could always do better!

  6. So, I just wanted to congratulate all of you on your new adventure! I had my sleeve done last December (2012) and have had great success! The liquid week (or two for me) was rough and the first week after surgery was no walk in the park ---- but after that you are gonna feel better than you ever could imagine! My highest weight was 225 and my lowest (now) is 118! I am not sure if I need/want to lose anymore. Please feel free to ask any questions that you might have! I am here to help! Brittany

    All of my December sleevers...

Hi there, I was sleeved on 12/10/2012 - so just about one year ago! Highest 225 and I am now at about 118! I have been pretty much maintaining at this point... I know this might sound a little crazy, but Monday through Friday - I measure my food. I am still at about 1/2 Cup for each meal - breakfast/lunch/dinner and i have between 2 to 3 snacks per day. I try not to indulge too much on the weekend - but I don't measure as much on those days... I am definitely not perfect - but that was the whole point of the surgery right! The idea that I could never have anything that I liked would kill me. If I have a piece of candy on Halloween or pecan pie at Thanksgiving dinner - it is not hurting me. By controlling my meals so well, I am able to indulge now and then. I try to exercise at least 3 days a week. I love at home workout videos a lot - and the gym is ok too.... If you are looking for a great video that will tone your whole body, I would suggest "Ripped" by Jari Love! It is an hour, but man is it good! The past year has been really wonderful! I am so happy that I can control my eating so much better now... I try to eat something small every two hours..I never get hungry that way! Last week, I went to the store with an old friend that was always skinnier than me and knew it...she got a six and I got the 4 pant! How do you like me now!!!!
  8. Losing is hard and we all have ups and downs!! My doctors has requested that I get at least 50 grams of Protein from supplements (protein shakes), take Vitamins, get at least 64 ounces of Water a day, and start working out! When I went through the program, I read that protein supplements are the best way to lose...drinking two is best and that even after you have hit goal you should try to get at least one a day to maintain!! Now I know that this seems crazy but I have found that when I get my Protein drinks in - I lose more! What does everyone think of this?? Fact or fiction?

    All of my December sleevers...

I love me some white wine!! Wine has the lowest calories (i think) and will be a good alcohol beverage for this lifestyle. I mean, as long as it is not all the time...
  11. Do you feel like even after you hit goal that you will continue your protein supplement? What do you use for protein?
  12. All I can say is fantastic!! You look amazing!!! Any tips for us newbies????

    All of my December sleevers...

Heck yes we do!! Ok so I thought that too about drinking - like there was a 90 day waiting period but I looked through the book that my doctor gave me and it said to just be careful of sugars and such. So I don't drink often or anything but some tequila and lime juice and some other stuff won't kill me or my diet too bad.... Well I hope!!! How far out are you? I am like 6ish weeks!
  14. I like Premier Protein from Costco! Only chocolate though... Can't do anything vanilla yet and I'm not sure why!!!??? So weird but I like to pour my protein in a smaller cup and take shot-like sips and get that sucker down! Weird, I know but it works for me!!! Just keep trying different ones and you will fund one that you can tolerate - not love - but tolerate!!

I agree that we all need carbs they are essential to our body... I guess I should have said that I stay away from breads entirely! I do however eat plain oatmeal in the morning with a half a cup of chocolate protein powder (let's face it, plain oatmeal ain't great). You can also get "good" carbs from healthy foods too! I am nooootttt perfect at all - I had a skinny girl margarita last night and loved every minute of it! But I do try and stick to a pretty strict but wonderful lifestyle everyday!

    All of my December sleevers...

About 32 of it... I have been losing like a pound or two every two days! I hope it continues! My mom was the same way; she lost over 100 and went from size 22/24 to a size 4!!! She is my inspiration!!!

    All of my December sleevers...

I really try to stay away from carbs...get protein and drink lots of water!! I am really short so that might be why my number is higher! More importantly I feel so much better!!

    Coffee lovers...

I would talk to your doctor about this...my doctor has given the ok to have decaf coffee. I would just be careful with sugar and milk going into it. Sometimes, just a quick taste of what you think you want will get rid of the craving.
