  1. Ok, so I guess I didn't give enough information! I guess I got a little excited!

I was sleeved on 12/10/12 - just about a year! My highest was 225 and I am now 118! I am not sure if I want/need to lose anymore...but I would not like to gain anything (except maybe muscle)!

    My day is usually this:

    6AM - Half of a boiled egg/half of a piece of fruit

Coffee/Water on the way to work and first hourish

8:30 or so - I have one packet of plain oatmeal with half a scoop of chocolate/vanilla Protein powder/with exactly 6 to 8 almonds.

10:30 or so - Celery with Low fat Greek Yogurt Ranch Dip (Homemade)

12:30 or so- lunch (Usually, 1/2 cup of baked chicken/green beans)

2:30 or so - Try to put down a Protein Drink

4:30 or so - cheese Stick

If i work out - I like to have the other half of my egg from the morning/and half of the other piece of fruit about 30 min before

    (I get too winded if I don't)

Between 7 and 8PM (depending on if i workout) - dinner 1/2 cup of 80% meat 20% Veggie

I am pretty active! I workout at the gym at least 3 to 4 days a week! I absolutely love at home work out DVD's - Jillian Michaels is my hero! And I love Jari Love's Ripped DVD - it will get you into tip top shape!

I try to drink a lot of Water...but could always do better!

  2. I feared the Holidays.. But now that one has come and gone and I lost weight its no longer a fear my sleeve works I just knew I was gonna gain weight from the things I ate but that didn't happen.. Shockingly I am still loosing without a thought and I love it. I make 1 year on December 6 and I been reached my goal.. At times I get jealous at people who can actually eat a very heavy loaded plate of food but as long as I can at least taste each item and feel full I get over it quickly... Anyone else fearing the Holidays?

I feared the holidays as well! I ate and enjoyed my family and didn't gain! I am so happy/jealous to hear that you are still losing! I am completely stuck? Any suggestions?

  3. Hi Everyone,

My one year comes up on 10 December and I cannot say how happy I am to have made this change in my life! It has been a great year!

However, I would like to find out what everyone is eating one year post op?

    I currently have 3 meals per day at 1/2 cup (80 meat/20 veggie/fruit)

    2 to 3 Snacks - high in protein/or a Protein Shake

    1 cup of coffee w/creamer

What are the rules for eating at this point?

Am I eating enough? Am I eating too much! Help!

  4. I can tell you what I did...

Get up 6AM - Have coffee (Maybe have half a boiled Egg)

8AM - Breakfast is one packet of original oatmeal/and 3/4 scoop of chocolate or vanilla Protein powder

    9AM - take Vitamins

10:30 - eat celery with plain lowfat greek yogart

    12:30 - lunch

(So I measure my food at 1/2 cup with 80% Protein (chicken, fish, or beef/turkey) and 20% fruit or veggie)

    2:30 - String cheese

    5ish - Protein Drink

    7ish - dinner (again this a 1/2 cup - with 80/20 rule)

I try to always eat every two hours! This keeps my energy up!

What you see above was my meals M-F for a year! I am so obsessed with it --- that if i don't eat this way I get really anxious!

    Thanks,

    Brittany

  6. So, I just wanted to congratulate all of you on your new adventure!

I had my sleeve done last December (2012) and have had great success!

The liquid week (or two for me) was rough and the first week after surgery was no walk in the park ---- but after that you are gonna feel better than you ever could imagine!

My highest weight was 225 and my lowest (now) is 118! I am not sure if I need/want to lose anymore.

Please feel free to ask any questions that you might have! I am here to help! :)

    Brittany

  7. Hi there,

I was sleeved on 12/10/2012 - so just about one year ago! Highest 225 and I am now at about 118! I have been pretty much maintaining at this point...

I know this might sound a little crazy, but Monday through Friday - I measure my food. I am still at about 1/2 Cup for each meal - breakfast/lunch/dinner and i have between 2 to 3 Snacks per day. I try not to indulge too much on the weekend - but I don't measure as much on those days...
I am definitely not perfect - but that was the whole point of the surgery right! The idea that I could never have anything that I liked would kill me. If I have a piece of candy on Halloween or pecan pie at Thanksgiving dinner - it is not hurting me. By controlling my meals so well, I am able to indulge now and then.
I try to exercise at least 3 days a week. I love at home workout videos a lot - and the gym is ok too.... If you are looking for a great video that will tone your whole body, I would suggest "Ripped" by Jari Love! It is an hour, but man is it good!
The past year has been really wonderful! I am so happy that I can control my eating so much better now... I try to eat something small every two hours..I never get hungry that way!
Last week, I went to the store with an old friend that was always skinnier than me and knew it...she got a six and I got the 4 pant! How do you like me now!!!!

  8. So I'm enjoying a skinny girl cosmopolitan and I'm already down 20 pounds ' date=' so what is the big fuss about alcohol if your body can totally tolerate it ?!?!?!?[/quote']

Girl,2 weeks I had a hard time getting my Water in! But if you are fine then more power to you!! I am 6 weeks out and I have a had a few cocktails...so I'm not hating!!! And you know what, on top of that - people that say you are doing something wrong and going against the "diet" have probably done something too! Do what you think is best for you!

  9. I 100% believe in this philosophy.

First off Protein satiates hunger' date=' therefore you will likely eat less

Secondly, Protein both held to build & maintain muscle mass. A person with more muscle will naturally have a higher BMR than one with less muscle. (a major reason why men seem to lose easier than women)

Finally, a quality protein supplement, not a Meal Replacement, will pump you full of protein with relatively few calories. For example, both unjury & nectar deliver about 20g of protein in only 100 calories.[/quote']

I think you're right too! And I guess I should clarify that a protein supplement is not a meal replacement. Doctors want you to get protein in addition to food - so eating meals is a requirement in most cases. Thanks for your feedback! Do you think that you will continue to get Proteins supplement even after you hit goal?

  10. Friday was my 6 weeks ck up! I'm down 33 from my 10 day liq diet b4 surg! I have a friend she's a year out and she looks awesome and she said she was allowed wine! That's my drank! <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> lol well everything and anything is my drank lol!

I love me some white wine!! Wine has the lowest calories (i think) and will be a good alcohol beverage for this lifestyle. I mean, as long as it is not all the time... ;)

  11. I routinely get in 70+ grams a day and have found no correlation between how many grams I get and how much weight I lose. What I eat doesn't vary much - shake for breakfast' date=' dairy snack, meat for lunch, veggie snack, meat for dinner is my standard day. I consume, on average, between 600-700 calories most days, with rare "high" calorie (800-900) days. Regardless of the variation in my diet I lose about 4-5 pounds a week, which is in line with the caloric deficit I maintain.

I feel like I spend a lot of time eating, and so rarely feel the need to take in more after I get my "required eating" in, which usually takes up most of my day.[/quote']

I agree! Eating/drinking the required amount of "stuff" takes up a lot of the day! 4 to 5 pounds a week is what I am losing too. Are you saying that regardless of calorie intake you still lose... So do you think is bc of the amount of Protein you get?! What do you use for Protein?

  12. Dr said to stay away from alcohol 3 mos! I have him a month! Lol yes strict is good but I allow myself one day where I eat something I've been craving even thou I can only have a few bites but is so worth it! Skinny girl margarita mmmmm sounds good! <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> keep it up <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> us short girls gotta stick together!

Heck yes we do!! Ok so I thought that too about drinking - like there was a 90 day waiting period but I looked through the book that my doctor gave me and it said to just be careful of sugars and such. So I don't drink often or anything but some tequila and lime juice and some other stuff won't kill me or my diet too bad.... Well I hope!!! How far out are you? I am like 6ish weeks!

  13. I have tried every which way different flavors and kist can't seem to do it. I have tried milking with Water and milk have also tried Peanut Butter but once I swallow it I start gagging to the point of vomiting. PLEASE ANYONE HELP!!!!

I like Premier Protein from Costco! Only chocolate though... Can't do anything vanilla yet and I'm not sure why!!!??? So weird but I like to pour my Protein in a smaller cup and take shot-like sips and get that sucker down! Weird, I know but it works for me!!! Just keep trying different ones and you will fund one that you can tolerate - not love - but tolerate!!

  14. My dr said to get a few carbs in! That's why I stalled last time I had no carbs! But just a few I would allow one every other day minimal portion! It's helped!

I agree that we all need carbs they are essential to our body... I guess I should have said that I stay away from breads entirely! I do however eat plain oatmeal in the morning with a half a cup of chocolate Protein Powder (let's face it, plain oatmeal ain't great). You can also get "good" carbs from healthy foods too! I am nooootttt perfect at all - I had a skinny girl margarita last night and loved every minute of it! But I do try and stick to a pretty strict but wonderful lifestyle everyday!

  15. Losing is hard and we all have ups and downs!! My doctors has requested that I get at least 50 grams of Protein from supplements (protein shakes), take Vitamins, get at least 64 ounces of Water a day, and start working out!

When I went through the program, I read that Protein supplements are the best way to lose...drinking two is best and that even after you have hit goal you should try to get at least one a day to maintain!!

Now I know that this seems crazy but I have found that when I get my Protein drinks in - I lose more! What does everyone think of this?? Fact or fiction?

  16. So they are coming out of the woodwork...... I have been to two events over the last 2 weekends and everyone is now calling me and texting me to either see what I have done or am I sick. My best friend for whom I didn't tell' date=' told me not to lose anymore weight because I was looking sick. Have you seen my last pic. I have been sick must of my life.. I was sick and dying earlier this year bedridden d/t my heart and now everyone wants to come out and be oh so concerned about me. I chose not to tell anyone because everyone I told was against it... now that I have lost over 80 lbs they want to show their heads. I am so happy now, I love the compliments but for the ones, my so called friends and family that didn't care about me then...why do you care now... Only a hand full of people did I tell about my surgery and I am happy about that decision. It is no ones business and it will stay that way. Thanks for letting me vent.

p.s I purchased a dress 2 weeks ago for my son's wedding and had to to take it back Sat morning because it was falling off of me... I am now in a size 12 and loving every minute of it. [/quote']

I love that you posted this... All you gotta do is listen to Katt Williams...

“Live your life. Understand people are gonna hate you regardless. Get that outta your head—that fantasy world where aren't hating on you. You gotta be grateful. You need haters. What is are you complaining about? What do you think a haters job is: to hate. Let them do their job. Ladies, if you got 14 women hating you on you, then you need to figure out how to get to 16 before the summer gets here. Fellas, if you got 20 haters, you need 40 of them. What are you complaining about? If there are any haters in here right now and don’t have nobody to hate on, the feel free to hate on me. Sit back there and say my hair ain’t luxurious, when you know it is, b***h.”
