  1. This happened to me... yes it's normal. To REALLY fully go away.... a couple of months. It gets better with time and eventually becomes this nagging ache that eventually disappears completely and it's like... you don't know when it stopped being there, LOL. For me, it was worse at night, sleeping on that side was out of the question. And I was a roller, so I'd constantly wake up and roll back to the side that didn't hurt. Hope this helps!
  2. Your CPAP may need adjusting, afterall, you've lost 53 lbs and your apnea may have improved. The pressure output of your CPAP may need adjusting or perhaps switched out to a BiPAP, C-flex, or Auto-flex machine (changes as your breathing changes). Most machines come with an SD memory card that you can take in to your sleep doctor and have read to see how your apnea has changed. I would try that first. The second thing it could be is a shift in your metabolism and you need to get adapted. Some people find that working out later in the evening tires them out and gives them that sound sleep you may be longing for, while others find that working out in the evenings gets them too energized and unable to sleep soundly. So, it could be as simple as switching out your exercise routine. Hope those two suggestions help. :-)
  3. Loved pureed chili. Also, I would get those soups from trader joe's or the local supermarket, like roasted red pepper bisque, creamy basil tomato, or curried butternut squash and add a container of baby food chicken or turkey to it for more protein. Those are a few ideas for you. You can do a lot with those. My all-time favorite was pureed french onion soup (no bread or cheese) and I'd sprinkle kraft grated parmesan cheese on top -- it would just melt into it. You can add a baby food jar of beef to that and it's amazing.
  4. Are you referring to those six-eight weeks post op? Or more than 2 months post op and living with a healed sleeved stomach?

    He does not understand.....

I started protein shakes and liked them... there are lots of low carb options out there that taste good! Like SlimFast's low carb version, or even Muscle Milk Vanilla flavor ( I like it with water instead of milk cause then it becomes too sweet and rich ). And you can add a spoon of peanut butter to it or half a banana a week out of surgery. Post op, I did a lot of Muscle Milk strawberry flavor, premixed individual cartons - those were great! Give some of those a try!
  6. The three surgeons I spoke to all recommended no vigorous exercise for 8 weeks post op. Light walking only. If you're having pain, give your surgeon a call and ease your mind.

    can i take advil?

I was informed no ibuprofen for one year. Tylenol is okay with half a glass of water.

    Totally inappropriate question

You've just had your stomach sleeved and scar tissue is still trying to heal and cover up that stapled edge. I have never had an episode of gagging or vomiting yet, but my husband had two early on. The next day, he couldn't eat as much, probably due to additional inflammation in the stomach at the staple line thanks to the gagging/vomiting. I would wait longer or improvise in the bedroom

    Greek yogurt challenged

I eat Fred Meyer's Greek Non-Fat Plain Yogurt 6oz serving (110 cal, 7 carbs, 16 protein, 20% calcium). I have dozens of recipes to incorporate it into stuff. If interested, let me know.
