Congrats~! You don't have too much longer now. My date is much further out -- August 5th.

They use different sweeteners.

Awesome! I have to get cracking on that -- just got my date, which is August 5th. I have heard it takes about 6 weeks to get it back.

How about your gyno? My PCP is not a fan of bariatric surgery and if she won't do my follow-up care, I am pretty sure my gyno will.

Awesome!

Maybe you can explain that to him, for many of us, the wrong foods are an addiction. And one of the hardest things about problems with food is that we can't just not eat. With cigarettes, alcohol, cocaine, what you do is completely eliminate the substance. We cannot do that.

You did good -- you were tempted, but didn't start eating things just to eat. I hope that I will be as strong as you are after I have my surgery. But it must be frustrating because you have to take into account those darned normal eaters, who can have the forbidden fruit.< /p>

I will be going to Dr. Aceves. After narrowing the field, it was down to him and Dr. Alvarez. I will be flying from one side of the US to the other and want an experienced surgeon. My insurance not only excludes WLS, but will not pay for complications from it. Since I am coming from so far away, I really like the fact that there will be a three day hospital stay and THREE leak tests!

I have not yet had my surgery. My very best friends, DH and kids know. Have not told anyone else. I don't want DH's family to know until after as my MIL and SIL will worry. I have a circle of friends that think Mexico is a dangerous, dirty place. Sure am not going to tell them I am going there to be operated on beforehand. Don't know about after. Not sure if I will tell my coworkers, but I am super close with one of them and if one knows, even if they are sworn to secrecy, it comes out. I may just tell them afterwards.

I will be staying three nights with my doc.

I am like you -- hot all the time and can't wait to be cold! I can start wearing some of the things I knit, hopefully!

Explain to them that it is putting pressure on you when they tell folks you will lose 100 lbs. And ditto on what other folks have said.
-
Lizv, how far out were you when you had your leak?
-
It all depends. How old are you? How much weight do you have to lose? If you have a large amount of weight to lose, even being young may not "save you" from needing to have plastics when it is all said and done. Also, the length of time you have been obese will come into play.

Huh, I am pre-op, not even on the post op diet yet, and I want to go and hurt her!
-
Gibson_girl, I will probably need one, then. I am a 24 but carry much of my weight in my backside. <sigh>

It is really important that you drink more. You don't want to get dehydrated.

I would say lose what you want to lose. Go ahead and shoot for those last seven pounds. Sometimes there is a bit of regain, so that is something to take into consideration.

I have not yet had my surgery, but being an obsessive type of person, have haunted various wls forums every day for quite a while now. From what I have read, what you are feeling is normal. Your hormones are all over the place, your body is in shock, and you haven't yet begun to reap the benefits. Hang in there!

How do you know if you will need a seat belt extender on the plane? I would prefer to buy one ahead of time if I need it.

I am hoping for August. We are going to apply for a HLOC this week. Wish me luck! Do you have a date?

And to leave Mexico, you at least have to have PROOF that you have applied for the passport, so please go ahead and do that.
