  1. I totally needed this too!!! Thanks for sharing. I have to keep reminding myself it's an average of so many pounds/week, not that I will lose them every single week. One month, I didn't lose until the last two days, but got all depressed about it. Then when I looked at my total and spread it out, it's following about 8-9/month when divided among the months...and, I can live with that.

    Working with a Trainer post-op

I waited til 8 or 9 weeks post op. I did walk and eons out on my own at 6 weeks, but didn't want to go gung ho the first time at the gym. I did aqua aerobics and cardio to start, then trainer. Just remember that if you are working out to take measurements. I didn't lose for two weeks but lost inches all over. getting stronger!! Still with the trainer 2x a week. Love it.
  4. Seems like 600-800 with working out is way too little...especially if you are burning up to 300. I'm sure things will speed up...but definitely check measurements. I was experiencing the same thing but it's always around my "time of the month"....things slow down dramatically and I won't lose weight that week, but will the following.

    When am I full?

I remember in weight watchers (a long time ago) talking about this.. if you eat and then you have that "sigh" like.. ah... then you are full. Do you get that? I do sometimes. I used to ignore it, but trying to find it again!

I don't know what else to do!

I am going to be totally honest here because i hope others would be with me. Do you see a dietician??? Can you call yours? Were you given a pamphlet on the diet to follow throughout the process? I still look at mine as a reminder. It doesn't say count your carbs or sugars. It says 1200 calories, 60-80 gm Protein, eat protein first. Follow a balanced diet. Make healthy choices. I say call your dr or nutritionist, look back at any pamphlets or meal plans you were told to follow, just kind of do a refresher. Track what you eat. You will be surprised! Also, FYI, little Debbie stars are 300 calories EACH...definitely find something else to satisfy your sweet tooth... Otherwise, sounds like you are eating way more calories than you should be.

I don't know what else to do!

Your muscle milk sounds good! Don't skimp on protein AT ALL or you could lose your hair and stop losing weight. I think what you are thinking is carbs... carbs and protein are different. Protein: GOOD!!!!

I don't know what else to do!

I'm about 4 or 5 months post op and track everything and losing consistently. I am also working out 2-3 times/week. I'd say that what I'm doing is realistic (not too gung ho, but also not just sitting around). My dietician told me that I need to get 1200 calories in per day AND 60-80grams of Protein. Things just fall into place if I meet those two things. An idea of what I eat per day: Breakfast: Skinny vanilla Latte (gotta have this! haha) and 1 smartones Breakfast burrito. (these come 2 to a serving, but I can only eat one) Lunch: 1/2c chicken salad and 5-6 Wheat thins Snack: GNC Go Lean Vanilla shake (this has 25grams of protein on it's own! and low carb/calories) or a "KIND" nut bar (these are delicious! Dinner: Chicken (or other meat) cooked however (about 1/2 c) and a bite of veggies or potatoes Late night snack: either popcorn, a yogurt with granola, string cheese or a ham stick (like a beef stick) If i'm still hungry at night, I have a cup of milk or a decaf, skim latte (like a cup of milk, but with coffee in it) I get enough protein and also don't feel deprived of anything. I keep Snacks around me so I don't buy anything bad. I have had the occasional cookie though, but have lost weight anyways. Mix things up but be sure to track. i've noticed on days where I wait til the end of the day to track, I'm able to eat a lot in the day calorie-wise. Also learned that some things I thought were healthy were actually really high in calories.
  12. Walking is key!! I didn't want to stay in the hospital a 2nd night so got up and started walking..slowly. It seriously helped the healing go faster. When I got home that day, (they let me go thankfully!! i did have to drink a ton of liquids, but i felt like i was dying of thirst) I slept, but got up for the bathroom, etc. my mom came over on the next day and had me walk down the street with her.. She used to be in healthcare and made a point of getting me out of the house and moving. Nothing big, but the pain truly subsided quicker.
