  1. omg! I wonder do we have the same surgeon... lol

mine does me the same... ugh!

i'm a life coach with a MS in psychology... and I taught him the "sandwich theory'

    compliment

    criticism

    compliment

your advice and admonitions are better accepted when you work it this way... grown folks do not take well to being 'fussed at'

    lol

  2. oh this huge overhang on my belly? this apron? lol I work out about 4 times a week... started lifting weights 2 weeks ago... I am also checking options for plastic surgery... cuz while it is deflating... it is NOT toning... and I didn't expect it to... not at 47.

and yeah... not looking forward to dating any time soon...

  3. Hi guys, I had my surgery 12-14 I am almost 8 months out and am down from 260 to 173. I'm happy with having a 87 pound loss! My goal weight is 140 just 33 to go hope I can make it!! I just started working out I have been doing Jillian micheals 30 day shred and I already see a. Huge difference In my stamina 5 push-ups now 15 :D

My arm skin is tightening and I bought my firs pair of pants and tank top from forever 21 I feel like a women! Lol

My BMI went from 43 to 28 no longer morbidly obese or obese ..overweight will turn into healthy soon! The only thing I don't like is my show size went from 10 to 9 1/2 and I hope it goes down even more because no one sells 9 1/2 size shoes :( anyone else losing their shoe size?

Keep it up my Dec sleeve sisters as brothers!

Yeah... my shoes are all too big... I mourn the loss of my shoe collection AND the fact that I have to replace them all with a smaller size...

  4. I applaud all of you who have lost so much in such a short time... it probably why I've stopped popping in here as much... I am not making the progress you guys are... almost 8 months out and only 60 lbs gone...I have lost 111 lbs from my highest weight... so I guess that's something ... my fibromyalgia pain is back... I broke up with my boyfriend of 5 years... I hate to sound so down but its where I am right now... DOWN...while I'm not gaining any weight, I have to fight for every ounce I lose... I started lifting weights in addition to walking 2 miles 4 days a week... nothing is helping accelerate the weight loss... other than living on shakes, what's a girl to do?

nevertheless, I am happy for you guys... you're the success stories! me... not so much...,

  5. Hi.. I'm just starting my process on trying 2 get approved for the sleeve.., but, seems 2 me that others have experienced different reactions to the surgery.? I would talk 2 ur Dr. If I were you. But, try 2 stay healthy by excercising and eating right. So, the pounds won't come back. Good luck

The sleeve is just a tool... and as BB stated... its all about utilizing the tool to its fullest... eating RIGHT and MOVING DAILY... you will lose it... and hopefully keep it off...I'm 7 mths out... and am losing slowly... but I am NOT gaining... the weight IS coming off... and I plan for it to stay off for good...

  6. I walk... started out doing 15 minutes twice a day before surgery... which added up to a half a mile (I started this journey well over 300 lbs...) Now I am doing 2.5 miles daily... getting it done in 45 minutes! if you start now, it will be easier to stay in the habit after surgery...good luck to you!

  7. Hey Fellow December sleevers... I've fallen off the site... back in school... post graduate stuff... (am I psycho or what?? lol) anyway... I have a NSV to share...

I remember a day when I could barely walk down a flight of stairs without being totally winded... when I got off work yesterday, the elevator to the parking deck was out... me... parked on level 10... I walked up like a champ... got to work this morning... elevator still out ... walked down 9 flights and back up after work...I am soooo elated to be able to be this physical and energetic! My niece saw me in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt that fit (size 22 down from a 32W) and almost walked past me... she said she did not readily recognize me! Loving my sleeve!!

  8. hello all... I started this journey 13 months ago (pre op supervised diet for 8 mths and I am 5 mths post op) and I was 340 lbs. during the mandatory pre-op period I lost down to 304.5... I am now at 262 and I am sooo happy to be losing this weight and getting healthy...

  9. you guys rock! I got encouraged just reading the thread about sabotaging one's self... I've been on that boat (complacency) ... and now its time to get back in the Water and SWIM my tail off! I gotta lose this weight... and I won't let CARBS take me down!

I am challenging myself to lose 10 lbs between now and my next appt. in July... If I gotta go back to liquids for a few days... I'm gonna do it! I'm gonna double up on my exercise as well... walk at lunch... pool 3 days a week in the evenings... once again, its ON!!

  10. Okay guys I am a bit worried right now I am still very tight in the stomach area however i have heard that by the 6 month that stage will be over for us I am now in my 5th month and worried that in a month or so my stomach will allow me to eat a whole lot more I am still only around 4-5 ounces at this time and thats stuff like yogurts but meats still only able to eat 2-3 ounces and be more then full. How much can you guys get in at this stage of the game? Am I normal? Should I be worried? Who can get more in?

May makes 6 mths for me... and I can eat alot... I thought I would not feel hunger... but this gnawing in my belly is only satisfied with food... I feel like I am eating every 4 hours like a baby...Yes, soft foods, I can eat quite a bit... but meats and eggs fill me quickly...

normal? who's to say what's normal any more...

  11. I don't know if I am a fast loser but the pace is going well

    Started my pre diet 296

    Today (5-6-13) weigh 198.4 :) .....down 98 pounds

You can my fitness pal me at pattycake71963 would love to add you ...I get helpful hints from what others eat too :)

You've lost more than double what I've lost since surgery... no... you're not a slow loser... LOL

  12. Ok ladies and gents... ... almost 5 mths out and only 37 lbs lost... ( seem to keep gaining and losing the same few lbs,,,,*sigh*) BUT I am in a size 18 top (down from a 28) and in size 24/26 jeans (down from a 32W pants) and in a size 22 dress (down from a 30W)... inches seem to keep leaving... but the scale is very discouraging...

    has anyone experienced this?
