  1. I agree with Fiddleman...Laura didn't mean anything bad. & I actually think you are confusing some of my comments for hers..I am the one who said several times "I don't mean to be mean...but" & I honestly wasn't being nasty...I was just curious & trying to get all the info in an attempt to help you! I think you have a negative mind set now & automatically take everything said in a negative light because you are expecting it! I'm sorry you are having trouble with your decision & pray that you get the help you need to correct whatever is going on with you...& your mind set! It can't be fun living with you when your in this negative mode.
  2. Oh WOW! You just scared the heck outta me!! I thought I was safe now! :-/

    Post op and sweets

Ok, guess I have the sleeve of steel....I can eat anything & be ok. Had some Bday cake & ice cream at my grandsons Bday & was fine! Have eaten a few pieces of chocolate during stressful times & that TOM.

    Any luck with appeals?

I also won my appeal! Write them a letter & tell them your side...I.e. your history proves you can't do it & keep it off alone!!

FYI....be careful....especially with boots....your feet will shrink too! Their beautiful! I LOVE shoes!!
  8. Yes, you should def call your dr!!
  9. I just did the same thing! People were making fun of me for my saggy butt! So..I just packed up all my BIG clothes (I wore a 24-26) to give to my friend who had bypass surgery. I can now wear a large & XL! The best thing is I can shop in the "reg" side of the store & not the "Big" side!! :-)

    Bonk?

OMG....I was thinking the same thing!! LOL
  11. Ok, so you blood work is ok....have they done an EGD to see if you have a stricture?? Seriously, you should be able to eat without being miserable! I would insist they do more testing! Of course your tired & have a low libido if you can't get in enough nutrients! Not everyone needs to be a cheerleader for WLS...but you DESERVE answers & a normal life! If you can't get them from your dr....go to another!! There's no reason to suffer like you are! PLEASE, don't give up looking for the answer!!

    Im an emotional disaster :(

Are you trying to eat "heavy" meals out? I eat out frequently with family & friends & have no problem if I order baked/grilled chicken for example. I do get nauseous if I try & eat something "heavy" like Mexican food, or chicken Alfredo. Haven't gotten physically ill...but it made me not feel good & I learned my lesson.
  15. Maybe increase your exercise??

    self sabotage

I too thought my depression would magically disappear after surgery & I could stop my antidepressant....but it didn't happen that way! You automatically have a loss of energy after surgery...that combined with depression can be unbearable! I'm glad your seeing someone...the best thing I did was get back on my med, the fatigue will get better! Good luck!

    Becoming discouraged...Need Help

You've lost 14 lbs in one month!! How can that discourage you! Chill out, & keep up the good work!
  18. Ok, I'm NOT trying to be mean...I'm just curious, what Exactly DID you expect?? You had 85% of your stomach removed...did you Really think you'd be able to eat they way you did before?? Have you had your blood levels checked? The fatigue should be better. I don't know about you...but my sex drive has def Increased...NOT declined. There's actually a thread here somewhere where we were just talking about that! & I Love to cook even more now...I'm learning new, healthier ways of making new yummy dishes. It's just my hubby & myself, & he is dieting too....so I usually cook on the weekends & we eat the leftovers thru the week & for lunches! Easy, yummy, fast & healthy. I can eat anything I want..just smaller portions. Are you sure your not throwing up because your trying to eat too much? I haven't thrown up since immediately after surgery...but I have gotten nauseous after eating too much. So...please clarify...what DID you expect??

    Just ate a Wendy's cheeseburger!

I'm not blasting you...just curious! I can only handle about 1/3 of a homemade hamburger patty...without any bread. Just wondering if you were able to eat the whole thing! I have been tempted to try though!! Lol

    No will power!

I hear you! It's very easy to slip! You just have to be aware of it & get back on track! You at least have the restriction to not eat as much as you did. Tomorrow is a new day..dust yourself off & start tomorrow anew!

  22. Takingcontrol

    Did you have second thoughts?

No! I was totally ready! & I LOVE my sleeve & would do it again in a heartbeat!
  23. Takingcontrol

    Not much but...

You make me feel better! Sleeved 12/17 & down 42 lbs! We WILL reach our goals!! You look great!
  24. Takingcontrol

Tired, tired and even more tired!

Yes, iron plays a huge role in your energy level! It's normal, & WILL get better! Hang in there
  25. Takingcontrol

Scared? Why am I doubting myself?

Thats normal! Of course we'd all opt to do it on our own if we could...but even if we did (& I have before) we gain it back! This is a tool for life! I just wish I'd done it sooner!!
