  1. I am a year and a half post op. The first six months were easy. No hunger and the weight melted off. After six months it got much harder. I feel hunger and weight loss slowed drastically. I still love my sleeve and wouldn't change a thing. It has never been a big issue at holidays or when I am out with friends. It's all about making good choices and not over eating. When i go to restaurants I always have a to go container brought and have several meals left to enjoy later. My surgery isn't even a topic because all my friends and family know and is not even a big deal anymore, it is a way of life. I am one that still weighs their food when I can. I can generally do 4oz of food. I am down 119 pounds with 40 more to go. It is going to be a challenge, but it will be gone! Good luck to you all!

Question for people over 12 mths

I am 15 months out and can still eat 3-4 ounces and be satisfied. To be honest, I haven't really tried to go over that.

For the love of sweet Jesus.....

I was totally going to post the same thing! Some people feed on drama. Posts like that are yet another reason why I haven't checked this site in months.

when is it too much protein?

What does your meal plan look like? I can't wrap my head around 100 G protein at 600 calories.

    Constipation

I had major issues with constipation. I take a probiotic and I have not had a problem since. If I miss my dose, I can definitely tell. I become bloaty and constipated.
  7. I had the same pain a few weeks out. My doctor told me it was normal. Muscles and nerves growing back together. It went away in under a week. But... Only you know your body and if the pain is something horrible, call the doctor

All these complications...is it worth it?

I am a few weeks shy of a year. 30 pounds away from goal (down 110 pounds). I have not have major complications. Hair loss, sure but it has stopped and hair is growing back. I don't get sick and throw up all the time because I know when to stop eating. Overall I would say so far my benefits outweigh any negatives ten fold. The way I was, I probably wouldn't have lived ten more years!

    Popcorn? When?

Curious to what problems it would cause to a healed stomach. Did the clarify? My nut and doctor allow it after 4 months. I have air popped popcorn several times a week. No issues.
  10. I am almost a year out and only started eating salad a few months ago. Only reason was because before surgery, I always had issues (cramping, runs etc) much to my surprise I no long have issue! I am so excited because I love salads but would always skip them to avoid issues. I now have a romaine lettuce salad with some chicken and yogurt Caesar dressing every day for lunch.

    Cookies & Cream Quest Bars

    They are sooo yummy!
  12. Shrimp is a great food. Very high protein and goes down very easily for me. Cheese is good too.
  13. Though it can happen, the chances are slim. Relax and focus on your recovery. Welcome to the club and good luck!

    Pouch problems any one?

Are you sure it's pouch and not gall bladder? My friend had similar symptoms (she is non bariatric) and it was her gall bladder. Sometimes gall bladder pain is mistaken for other things.
