    post op sex different?

I think you are on the money with talking to the urologist and make sure you are getting more than enough fluids. Post op sex for most of us is much better. I can say that dropping #50 has increased my stamina and taking things to .. um ... new lengths. I've not noticed any difference in the actual pops.
  2. Welcome Jesse! Congratulations on a great decision. Similar thoughts as bigdirk: I didn't like the foreign object of lapband and bypass / malabsorption seemed too extreme and went with the sleeve. I was also selfpay and went to Mx. I had a few people that were concerned with my decision to go to Mx but their fears were unfounded. There are several surgeons there that are amazing and have more experience with the sleeve. Do your research and make the best decision for you. As far as Arts comment ... Go Hokies!
  3. In order to calculate the calories, you are going to have to give us pretty specific details.....

    6 month follow-up appointment

I've got a NSV for you Joe ... You probably look much better in that Cooper than you did six months ago ....
  5. Here's a link to that thread http://www.verticals...good-fast-food/ I don't think McD's got addressed but there are many other good ideas. The biggest issue with most of the fast food places is that the food is completely molested, just chock full of chemicals to make it irresistible and give it a 300 yr shelf life. You eat grilled chicken at home, it's got one ingredient chicken (ok two because I like to put pepper on them) Here's the ingredients for the grilled chicken wrap: GRILLED CHICKEN FILLET: Chicken Breast Fillet with Rib meat, Water, Seasoning (Rice Starch, Salt, Sugar, Yeast Extract, Canola Oil, Onion powder, Maltodextrin, Chicken Skin, Paprika, Flavor, Sunflower Oil, Chicken, Garlic Powder, Chicken Fat, Spices), Sodium Phosphates. Prepared with liquid Margarine: Liquid Soybean Oil and Hydrogenated Cottonseed and Soybean Oils, Water, Partially Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Salt, Soy Lecithin, Mono-and Diglycerides, Sodium Benzoate and Potassium Sorbate (Preservatives), Artificial Flavor, Citric Acid, Vitamin A Palmitate, Beta Carotene (Color) FLOUR TORTILLA: Enriched Flour (Bleached Wheat Flour, Malted Barley Flour, Niacin, Reduced Iron, Thiamin Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid), Water, Shortening (Interesterified Soybean Oil and/or Hydrogenated Soybean Oil and/or Soybean Oil and/or Hydrogenated Cottonseed Oil), Contains 2% or Less of: Sugar, Leavening (May Contain One or More of: Baking Soda, Sodium Aluminum Sulfate, Corn Starch, Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate, Calcium Sulfate, Monocalcium Phosphate), Salt, Wheat Gluten, Dough Conditioners (Sodium Metabisulfite [Contains Sulfites], Distilled Monoglycerides) SHREDDED CHEDDAR/JACK CHEESE: Cheddar cheese (Pasteurized Milk, Cheese Culture, Salt, Enzymes, Annatto ), Monterey Jack Cheese (Pasteurized Milk, Cheese Culture, Salt, Enzymes), Potato Starch and Corn Starch and Powdered Cellulose (Prevent Caking), Dextrose, Enzymes, Natamycin (Natural Mold Inhibitor) BUTTERMILK RANCH SAUCE: Soybean Oil, Cultured Buttermilk, Water, Sour Cream (Milk, Cream, Modified Food Starch, Guar Gum, Sodium Phosphates, Carob Bean Gum, Sodium Citrate, Calcium Sulfate, Carrageenan, Dextrose, Potassium Sorbate, Enzymes, Citric Acid, Gelatin, Mono- and Diglycerides), Egg Yolks, Contains 2% or Less: Distilled Vinegar, Maltodextrin, Salt, Dextrose, Modified Food Starch, Soy Sauce (Soybeans, Wheat, Salt), Dried Onion, Garlic Powder, Lactic Acid, Natural Flavor (Vegetable Source) and Artificial Flavor, Shallots, Preservatives (Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Calcium Disodium EDTA), Xanthan Gum, Spice, Phosphoric Acid, Sodium Acid Sulfate, Propylene Glycol Alginate, Autolyzed Yeast Extract

Bit of a rant: Pissed off - upset - depressed

Congratulations! You look healthy. Remember that some of the people around you have an image of what you are "supposed" to look like burned into their brain as well. Screw em, the only person whose option should matter is your wife... she's the one that's gotta look at you naked. Be proud, brother! I'm looking forward to having that problem :-)

    "Good" Fast Food?

Sushi is a staple for sit down restaurant food. You can get shashimi in most places which is just the fish with no rice.

Toss the box? A NSV with a problem

Dresses on men are kind of frowned upon in most areas of Georgia so unfortunately I will have to stick with pants .... but good advice for the ladies
  11. I had a NSV this past weekend. Unfortunately, along with it came a problem. I had to go get the box out of the attic. You know the one that I filled with the clothes that were too tight. The clothes that I had from the last time I lost some weight .. and the time before that, and the time before that.... How could that possibly be a problem, you ask? The routine in the past has always been to take out the smaller clothes (hurrah!!) and fill the box with the bigger clothes. At that point, the box sits in the closet for a few weeks while I decide if it goes to charity or back in the attic. Well, having gained and lost the same 40# several times in my adult life coupled with the fact that I'm frugal (ok ok a cheap rat bastard), the nagging thought that I may need those clothes again generally leads to them going back in the attic. Then later when I've lost my resolve and gone back to cramming my pie hole with whatever isn't nailed down.... the box comes out and the the process is repeated in reverse. I keep telling myself that this time is different. That not only will I never need those clothes again, in all likelihood, I will have to buy new clothes when the "small" clothes are too big in another month. I am quickly coming up to the point where I will be smaller than I have been in 20 years, and my goal is a place that I haven't seen since middle school. Never the less, the box of big clothes is currently sitting in my closet silently mocking me. Stupid box.

I believe it's actually tuned to detect high levels of estrogen coupled with heat and moisture sensitivity. :-)
  15. I really like the chocolate Premier Protein shake, but the vanilla was starting to get on my nerves so I've been playing around with flavors trying to make it more enjoyable. This morning's experiment was a keeper! I threw all this in the blender One ready to drink Vanilla Premier Protein Shake One scoop unjury unflavored powder 2 Tbs PB2 Peanut Butter Powder (bought on the advice of folks here, found it at Kroger in the organic section) Some Water and ice It tasted fantastic!!! The PB2 is awesome. It was close to 16 ounces so it took a while to drink but it was yummy. Here's the specs 16oz of liquid 56 Grams of Protein !!! 9 Carbs 295 Calories Strange the things I get excited about these days ... It used to be "I can eat an entire McD's Cheeseburger in one bite" now it's "I got in 56 grams of Protein before 9am"

    My Protein Bomb Breakfast

So I was the annoying kid that asked where babies come from and wouldn't except answers like "the stork" or "the baby store" I wanted a good scientific answer. That never really wore off, so I decided to dig into the 30g of Protein thing a bit. As it turns out, it's not that cut and dry. I found many explanations and opinions, but this was the only thing I found with research citation. http://examine.com/f...ne-sitting.html My understanding at this point (which may still be wrong and I welcome correction) is that your body will use most of the protein you give it. What it doesn't need or can't process for muscle repair it will turn to glucose for energy or fat. The average absorption rate is about 7g/hr. A liquid will spend about 4-5 hrs in the digestive process. So simple math, 28-35g of protein gets absorbed. Which is where the 30g per shake comes from. However, if you eat 50g of solid protein say in meat, your digestive system will slow to allow you to absorb the protein that is there.

@bucky. Nope the powder blended in great. As for the other comments. It's good info. That's why I hang out here. Learn something new every day. Thanks guys! It's simple to just drop the unflavored scoop out. Drops it down to 35

    Isopure drinks

I bought a case of grape and a case of assorted. I tried grape, alpine punch, and mango. The taste wasn't bad, but the the aftertaste made me gag ... I just can't get them down.... I'll stick to my premier Protein shakes from costco. If anyone wants a great deal on the Isopure PM me, I'd be glad to get rid of them.
  22. I was sleeved by Dr Kelly on 7/9. Everything went great and he is a very personable doctor. The care I received in Mexico was excellent. I did a ton of research and was very happy with my choice. You will be too.

    Uh-Oh, I Said Too Much

This would have worked as well considering the typical teenager. Actually it works on most adults too. (FA = Future of America, M = Ms Diamond): FA: Ms. Diamond, How was your surgery? M: (pointing randomly) Look something shiny! FA: Huh? Where?
