Good day "losers"! I am 4 months post op and 75 lbs down and went from size 3x-4x (26/28 ) clothing to 1x (18/20). Wooohoooo!!!! Feeling great and loads of energy. Working out at least 4-5 times per week. I'm still struggling to get all my Water in' date=' and am averaging 800-900 calories per day.Every once in a while I get that hungry feeling. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />. Anybody else experiencing hunger at this stage in the game?

Just an update from me. Sleeved 27 November 2012. Have lost 64lb in total since two week prior to surgery. As I'm in Aus, I use metric measurements etc, so am ecstatic that I will soon be in double figures!!!!
Start weight 137.5kg (303lb)
Today weight 108.5kg (239lb)
My new clothes are starting to get loose on me now, can't believe it, I'm so happy with my progress.

I think you look beautiful!

Dam iPhone auto correct. First post should has said nexium not medium LOL
-
I ctually think its Prilosec not somac sorry
-
I take Nexium and still have the problem. I started drinking a glass of milk before bed and that seemed to help. It is awful. One time I verped and it burned my throat so bad I thought it would bleed. Good luckI found that the medium doesn't work for me at all and I take a pill called pariet here in Aus. I think it's the same as somac?
Anyway it does work pretty well for me, I still wake every morning feeling yuk but take it straight away then have my shake and it seems to settle, at least no more reflux acid coming up

Hi again' date=' thanks for all of your lovely comments.Mini.mee = Jen??????
Novo: I did see your post, I have a good feeling about you getting your forms completed.
My Sleeve is being done by Mr Stephen Blamey at Cabrini Hospital in Melbourne.
Have a great Day everyone.
Michele. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> [/quote']
Yes that's me Michele. Am really happy for you, now you concentrate on being in the best health you can for your surgery!
I think it's around the same time as my gallbladder surgery so we can both moan and groan at the same time LOL
-
Great news Michele! Just like Dean said, it happens for a reason, and I truly believe in this line of thought :-)

All I can say is friends are hard, it makes me glad in a lot of ways that I only have one. I really hope I wasn't one of those mean fat girls when I was younger ;-/

Ditto to all that Puppyphat!

It is really hard as everyone has said to get those shakes down, but you just have to be patient and go it slow, by the time you finish one, you will have to start on your Water and so on, the initial stages aren't much fun, you really can't do anything else other than concentrate on getting those fluids in, but like we all have said, it does get easier and then easier again, you will be there in no time and feeling much better for it. Just stay patient :-)

Are you going the self funded path or do you have insurance?
Does your surgeon offer public? I went privately with my surgeon but know he operates on a specific number every year in the public system and I don't think it's more than a year wait.
I didn't think it was that easy to obtain the super for the ops, hence why I didn't even try. My hubby and I got a loan, (we had bad credit) it was very very difficult and came down to the sole reason being that one of the board members who sat approving our loan had the surgery six months previously and gave us a chance. We are making do now and I am so grateful, it is the best "gift" (our loan approval) I have ever received.
If you have debt and loans now, look into a top up loan, what is it going to hurt?
Good luck, something will pop up for you I'm sure

That's terrible Novo. What about seeing your surgeon and telling him about the problem, he may be able to persuade your GP some way?
-
Yep it's started already, dam flu. We were told here in Aus that's it's going to be particularly nasty this year.
I was just about to make Drs appointments to get us all our shots, thanks Pete (my son) for giving mum the flu LOL
I'm excited about another surgery, hoping this will be the last tho at least unless its cosmetic and I totally need it!
-
Symptoms have been ok actually, I've been pretty good. *touch wood*
Surgery is set for April 30, so nice and soon in my opinion, I haven't even heard from the public hospital that my GP had referred me to.
It's taken heaps of stress off my mind already.
Today tho, am sick as a dog in bed with flu, could not even hold my head up earlier, watch out guys if this is the new flu this year, it's nasty!
-
I started to get sick a few days ago, feeling so tired etc. am flat out in bed today and feel like hell, could not even hold my head up earlier. Dear hubby has been feeding me rose tea and I feel like poop!
This is the first time I've been sick since my op but I've wondered about you're question too
-
Are you guys serious about going shopping so soon after you have surgery?
Have I misunderstood?
That seems totally WHACKY to me and I couldn't think if anything worse, much love to stay in bed and rest me thinks LZoL

Right! No comments for two days now, everyone must want to argue hahaha

Today's update
Seen my surgeon and he will remove that horrible gallbladder for me
He is not charging over what he claims back from Medicare and my health fund so all I have to pay for is the anaesthetist and my health cover excess. It will still cost me around 1000 out of pocket but I think it's less stress knowing my surgeon will be doing it and not some no name nelly.
