  1. I'm about three and a half months out, and I have stopped losing weight...I only lost about 25 pounds on the sleeve so far. I am about to go CRAZY! Here's what's up: I'm exercising like I should be....I feel good about that. I also have more energy! I do admit I'm having trouble getting the Protein in. Everytime I drink a shake, I feel pukey. I do drink a lot of Water though. I've been having a period nonstop since just after my surgery. That's three months. I'm so frustrated. I have zits on my face! I look like a freakin teenager. Is there anyone out there who can relate to this? I have a follow-up tomorrow with my nutritionist, and I can't wait to hear what she says. I'm almost at the point of regretting my surgery. I hear all these amazing success stories, but where's mine?
  2. Just above the incision (I only have one), above my belly button, I can feel a marble-sized knot, and it's driving me crazy. I have a post-op next Friday, but I'm worried until then. What do you think it is? Is it scar tissue? Did they leave something crazy in me after they glued my skin together? Is it a lump? I feel like I'm at a loss. Just let me know if you have experienced anything like this.
  3. I always feel hungry! I'm drinking my fluids, eating my Protein, and I still am just hungry like I was before surgery. What is up?? I started out eating about 2 ounces of food...now I can eat about 3 to 3 1/2 ounces no problem. I'm worried I'm gonna stretch my sleeve. Any tips or ideas? Here's some background info: I'm one month out from surgery, and I've had zero complications--no vomiting, pain, or any other problem. I've lost about 22 pounds so far.

    Sleeve stretch?

I asked my doctor if my stomach would burst, and he laughed at me...he said I would just throw up if I ate too much. It still freaks me out though...it seems like it could burst. Oh well, I'm gonna trust my doc. He did cut me open after all
  5. My nutritionist told me absolutely NO Peanut Butter. However, here's what I eat on my pureed diet: BREAKFAST 1 scrambled egg MORNING SNACK a few spoonfuls of yogurt lunch 1 1/2 ounce Tuna mixed with light mayo applesauce AFTERNOON SNACK a few nibbles of sliced pears I teach fourth grade, and as long as I bring an insulated bag with an icepack, everything works great for me!

    Weight loss stopped!

I stopped losing about a week and a half after surgery--I was sleeved Dec. 27th and I haven't lost a pound since January 6th. I think it's normal. Don't stress, and just know that you're doing the right thing. There are SO many people on this site who have gone through the same thing. Sounds like you're doing great, just keep up the good work, and it'll pay off!

    Does Splenda hinder weight loss?

I've been drinking decaf tea with splenda. Will that make my weight loss decrease? Is there anything wrong with splenda? I just want to be sure.

Serious stall post op/Brand new to the forum

I was sleeved on 12/27 and was told to eat 600-800 calories...my doc said this would be my diet for a while. I've been on a stall for over a week now...I can completely understand your frustration! However, just know that apparently, these are normal, and at least you aren't gaining! Also, my NUT told me that the majority of my weight loss would occur at 2 months. I hope this helps. As long as you're getting your protein in (which I have trouble with) and are drinking your water, I'm sure your stall will be over soon. I'm right there with you
  9. I was just wondering what amounts of foods everyone is able to eat at a time. I'm at about 2 1/2 ounces for one meal, but I'm sticking to about 1 1/2 ounces for snacks.

    4 Wks Post Op Miserable

Did your doctor prescribe promethazine? That's what keeps me from feeling nauseous. The vitamins and certain foods really make me want to vomit, and those pills help a LOT. I hope you get better soon!
  11. So, I have two questions that are on my mind tonight. Here we go... 1. When should the glue come off of my incision? I have one incision across my belly button, and I'm just itching to pick at it. I know that's gross! I just wonder, how long will it be there before it dissolves? 2. WHY do I feel like I can drink a ton of Water at once? I'm still on full liquids, and I honestly don't always know when to stop eating/drinking. Is my sleeve already expanding? Did my sleeve not work? Am I just a freak of nature? I'm worried! I've heard that once I start eating pureed and solid foods, I'll feel the restriction, but I'm afraid that I'm going to hurt myself on the liquids. I don't feel the need to vomit or anything--there's just no sensation. Ok, thanks for the help!

    In need of some help...

Takingcontrol--Thanks so much! That was a helpful response. At least I know I'm not alone in feeling like I can't feel the "full" signal! I appreciate it

    In need of some help...

I have received directions, and both my doctor/nutritionist have told me to continue sipping throughout the day. I'm just having a hard time knowing when I should stop. I definitely have friends with 'common sense'....I was just hoping for a more exact answer. No biggie.
  14. OH my goodness....it's like we share the same story. I was also sleeved on the 27th, and I had the same hernia repaired. Things definitely don't taste the same! I tried Isopure as well, but it was pretty nasty, and was way too expensive. Lately, I've been using Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey, which I found at GNC for a pretty good price. It's a powder, but it's not so bad. I've had the chocolate and the vanilla. The only problem I'm having is getting them down! How in the world can people drink them fast enough? I just keep putting it back in the fridge when I'm at home, because I can't stand to let milk stand out for a long time. I've also tried using only 6 ounces of milk in my shake. I just bought some PB2 powder to mix in my shakes, and I'll try that tomorrow...hopefully, it'll be good, and help counter the sweetness. It's so good to hear from someone who's having the same problems I am! Hopefully, we'll get through this

    Does Splenda hinder weight loss?

Wow, you guys really came through! Thanks for the help I think I'm going to try Stevia, just to see what it's like. I do feel better about using Splenda though. I appreciate the help
  16. I have three days left of the full liquids, and then I'll switch to pureed foods. However, today I had a lapse in judgment...I ate a small piece of roast beef (deli meat). I chewed it really well, but I felt so guilty afterwards! I don't feel sick or anything, but is there a chance I could have hurt my staple line? I'm freakin out a bit :-/
  17. I'm about a week and a half post-op from sleeve surgery. Skim milk is seriously starting to make me nauseous...is it safe to drink soy milk? Also, I feel SO weak. I'm having a hard time eating throughout the day. Everything I put in my mouth, aside from decaf tea and Water, is making me want to hurl. I'm taking my promethazine to help me out. Has anyone else had that problem? It's like my body would just rather have me drink water than eat anything.
  18. This may be a silly question, but I haven't taken anything other than what my doctor and nutritionist have prescribed me. However, I am getting NO sleep at night. Is Ambien safe? If not, is Tylenol PM ok?

What Did You Eat At 4 Weeks?

I have a hard time seeing how raw shrimp would be good for you--won't you get sick? The grilled sounds yummy though And what is this delicious ricotta dish everyone's talking about? I'd love to have the recipe!
  20. Would it be safe for me to put about a tablespoon (or less) of peanut butter in a protein shake? It seems like it would make it taste better, and the protein would be super helpful. I'm currently in the first two weeks *full liquids* stage of post-op surgery.
  21. I am post-op for 9 days now, and I haven't gotten one fully restful night's sleep since. I've tried it all--sleeping in a bed, couch, recliner, fan on, fan off, etc. I've taken Ambien, but I'll be right out of bed 2 hours later. I'm starting to get very irritated, overly emotional, grumpy, etc. I always slept fine before surgery, but this is the worst I've ever slept. Will my sleep patterns forever be altered because of my surgery? Is this just a phase? I need help! Any suggestions are welcome.

Is peanut butter ok during full liquids stage?

Thank you all for the suggestions! I just placed an order for PB2 on Amazon. I'd never even heard of it!

    I can't stand PROTEIN!

I'm so tired to protein. I'm at the end of my first week of full liquids--I have one more week to go. I am having the hardest time drinking all my protein! Sure, I sip all day, but the taste (and I've tried a bunch--Nectar, IsoPure, Premier Protein, etc.) of all of them are driving me crazy. It's to the point that I'd just rather drink water all day...which is exactly what I did today. I know that's not healthy. I know my hair is gonna fall out probably. I need encouragement! Do any of you feel the same way about protein? I feel like once I start my mushies I'll be ok, but for now, with just liquids, I'm about to pull my hair out....of course, it'll probably come out on its on.

    Constipation!

I'm having the same problem! I finally had a BM today, and all day afterwards, I had mild diahrrea (I'm sure I spelled that wrong). I feel fine now, though. I'm still in my full liquids stage, so I figure that there really isn't anything to poop out. Anyway, good luck! We're in the same boat
