  1. Beautiful girl!! Way to go!!! Woohoo!!! Can't wait to be there. 35 more lbs to go till onederland.
  2. That's doesn't sound like a prepping diet to me . I was on clear liquids and three protein shakes a day for two weeks prior to my surgery. But I stick it out and my doc said my liver shrunk 4-5 cm and he was very pleased with that. Only the first 4 days were hard and after that a walk on the park. I have heard of surgeries being cancelled and rescheduled because people were eating too much or the wrong things pre op. you can do this!!! Stay strong!!
  3. You will do great tomorrow!! I had no complications and I'm 8 days out and thrilled already. Stay positive and focus on the prize. You will do wonderfully! I'm praying for you! The very worst part of the whole process is the emotional side and worrying. The rest becomes just a blur after a few days. Focus and you will be fine. We are all here for you!!
  4. Wow wow wow...you could be a male model and give David Beckham a run for his money. You are very handsome indeed!!
  5. DivaNurse.....you rock!! I have lost 23 yes folks 23 lbs on 3 weeks time!!!! OMG!!!!! I went back to work today 1 week post op and lasted 4 hours!!! Maybe I'm trying to hard to get back to normal but let me say I have gone from size 22 dress pant to size 18 today and I'm loving it!!!! I have to honestly say that even though I have a physically easy job take two weeks off because the energy isn't back yet!! I love you guys!!!! I couldn't do this without you!!!!
  6. you wear shoes especially in the grass and stay away from fire ant hills and never ever walk in sandals through a field. Its gonna hurt!!! I'm allergic to them so I have a bad reaction. Our yard is sprayed regularly so I can run in my yard with out shoes but I wouldn't dream of going into the untreated yards or vacant lots near my house. No Way!!!!
  7. Good luck and best wishes for a speedy recovery!!!
  8. Oh yeah! They bite alright!!! I know! I live here in Florida. The are bad on South Carolina too. Grrrr. That's one thing I miss about Ohio is no fire ants. I miss Ohio alot actually but it's pretty great to be in Florida this time of the year!!!!
  9. But just remember everyone recovers at a different pace. Listen to your body and don't push yourself
  10. I had no problems with going since surgery but I do drink warm tea a couple times a day and it seems to keep me regular. On the safe side ask your doc or NUT. They are there to help you. Good luck. Being bound up is no fun. I'm 6 days post op and I just think our inerds are trying to figure out what the heck just happened. ????????
  11. Good luck and prayers for a speedy recovery to all you being sleeved this week. Relax and know you're going to do great!!! We are all here for you!!
  12. Thank God for Gas X strips too! If I feel bloated or just full of air behind my sternum it helps within minutes. Take them along with you wherever you go! I like the mint ones the best
  13. And don't forget ear plugs!!!! I had a semi private room and my roomy was always hot so I would have froze if it wasn't for my 5 blankets and warm footies.
  14. Absolutely normal. I cried like a baby a day after my surgery and I my head wants food but my stomach doesn't. I'm not hungry at all. Takes everything for me to drink these protein shakes but I must and don't forget those fluids to stay hydrated. When I want to eat I get out my sugar free Popsicles. They help ALOT!! I had four of them yeaterday
  15. Don't push it. I thought I would be off only a week but it takes time to heal and gain back strength and energy to face the day. If you lift anything more then 10 lbs at work then it's best to take a couple weeks off. Remember you just will have had a major surgery. Your health is more important. I feel 6 days post op that I still want to rest after a half hour of activity. Good luck and God bless!! You will do great!
  16. I thought the chocolate lite muscle milk I had in the hospital was pretty good. Just ordered jay Robb whey protein in vanilla online. That was highly recommended too. We will see!!
  17. I COMPLETELY agree with 4My2Boys. We had our surgery on the same day. I'm planning on going back to work on Monday (yep 1 week post op). I feel that good. Luckily my boss is awesome and said work as little or as much as you like and don't worry about the money.....nice company huh??? But I plan on doing a couple hour meeting on Monday and see how I feel from there. No heavy lifting required in my job and I can come home whenever I feel like it. The surgery wasn't that bad! My knee and back surgery was 10 times worse. So glad I had it done!!
  18. Oh no!!!!!! I don't miss those days now that I'm living in balmy Florida. Take care and drink lots of hot tea or broth. And keep talking to us!!!
  19. Hi Doreen, you sound just like me. I too am a nurse and of course your entire family expects you to take care of them too so you never have time to care for yourself. I'm 5 days post op and on day 2 post op as I was taking my 2 am stroll of the hospital halls I broke down in tears wondering what the heck did I just do? I couldn't believe I let someone take out most of my perfectly healthy stomach!!!! That lasted all of 10 minutes and then I was fine! Since then I have been excited, motivated, and POSITIVE I did the right thing. Even my husband told me last night how incredibly proud he is of me and how courageous I am and that meant everything in the world to me. We are going to be some super hot and healthy nurses rockin those hospitals now!!! Congrats and stay in touch. I'm addicted to this website. ❤❤❤❤
  20. Yep catheter is part if the process. Gotta have it!
  21. Whoop! Whoop! You Go Girl!!!!!!! You're gorgeous!!! I know you have to be loving life!! I'm 4 days post op! Can't wait till I'm in onederland too!!
  22. I agree they do whatever they can to make you comfy. I'm a nurse as well so I know the love we have for our patients. However, hospitals are notorious for not having very comfy pillows or enough of them. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I have gone searching for pillows for my patients. And in most cases they need two or three to make them comfortable. So to be on the safe side I brought my own pillow and SO glad I did. Was kinda like my "security blanket" or "teddy bear" from home. And as for earplugs and night mask...if it wasn't for those I would have never been able to sleep soundly. My Morphine pump made me nauseous so I didn't have the luxury of medicinal sleeping. Oh well! The nurses and CNA's couldn't have been nicer and my experience was overall a very positive one.
  23. Alleluia!! We sometimes forget who is really in charge of our lives. I'm so happy for you!!????
