  1. Good thinking. I like hearing everyone's progress as I'm preparing for my sleeve next Friday.

    I hate my scale

I understand your frustration. My scale (I only have one...but after today I might just get rid of the darn thing) always gives me different readings. I usually step on it until I get the same reading 3x's. I hate my scale too!

    Surgery in 9 days

Thanx everybody. I'm seriously trying and willing to do anything at this point. I've scheduled a body wrap for next Wednesday. Maybe that will help with some of the water weight. Even though I'm completely worn out I plan to walk to work tomorrow too. We'll see about Friday...supposed to snow.
  4. The scale went up today. Not really understanding this. Between the anger from feeling half starved and the scale I decided to walk the 2.25 miles to work this morning. It was cold, but I warmed up quickly. I stopped at HyV for some Isopure. I'm so close to having my BMI under 50 that I know I would be really irate if I have to pay the extra $1,000 just for a few measly points. Its supposed to be really cold the next few days, but if I go ahead and walk to work until I leave for surgery I would bet that would make the difference.
  5. I feel the same way. I feel like a zombie when I meet with a client. Between being 9 days away from surgery, getting ready to go to Mexico and being crazy hungry, I can't focus and would prefer just to sleep until the time comes to get on the plane.

    nervous

I feel the same way. My surgery is in 9 days and I can't wait. I've been on the liquid diet for almost 2 weeks and have been walking 30 minutes a day, but can't get the scale to move. That just solidifies why I need this surgery. I have zero metabolism and just need that help.
  7. I've been drinking shakes.
  8. I've been on the liquid diet for more than 10 days now. I have 9 more to go, with the last 3 being clear liquids. I've been working out (walking on the treadmill, taking my dogs for walks) and the scale has barely moved. I'm cranky like no other! Yes, I know I should not be concerned with the scale at this point, but jeeeesh I would think that as hungry as I am ALL OF THE TIME that I would be losing something. Plus, if I can get my BMI below 50 I don't have to pay the extra $1000. I'm soooooo close...my BMI is 51.77 right now and I would really hate to be going thru this misery and end up shelling out another grand for a couple of lousy points! Sorry...venting. The hunger makes me angry.
  9. I've been on the liquid diet for about 10 days now and have another 10 to go. I have a high BMI, so my surgeon required me to be on it for 3 weeks. I'm really tired of waking up hungry and going to bed hungry and being soooooo hungry all day that I can't even think straight! Ugh! Please give me encouragement. Tell me this will end.
  10. Thanx. I'm gonna keep going. I'd be so mad at myself to quit now.

    New found motivition !

Wow! That's incredible! Good for you.
  12. Has anyone stayed at the PPA hotel in Tijuana? Originally, I was told I was going to stay at the Marriot, but for some reason this has been changed to the Plaza Pueblo Amigo. Not quite sure why the change.

    Plaza Pueblo Amigo

I'm using medical tourism and for some reason (not sure if she quit or what) but my coordinator was changed a couple of weeks ago. I don't know if I was just assuming I would be at the Marriot since that is where most people seem to stay, or if that's what I was told. I have to search my emails to see. Anyway, my new coordinator told me I would be at the Plaza Pueblo Amigo, which in looking at it seems nice enough. It's 4 star and the pictures look nice.
  14. Just tried Nectar (Cookies & Cream) that I ordered from bjsbariatrics.com. Not bad really. Filling. You can choose which flavors you want to try in the 11 pack sampler. Pretty sweet.

    BJ's Bariatrics

I will have to try the cottage cheese option.
  16. I've done ok on my liquid diet today. Got some new products, which has helped me to do better today. Its tough, that's for sure. I am soooooo tired! 14 more days and I will be on my way to Tijuana. The closer it gets the more nervous I become. My mother has been giving me a really hard time about my decision. She told me that she doesn't agree or support the surgery. She told me to eat 3oz's at a time. Well.....I could do that IF MY STOMACH WAS SMALLER! I'm so excited for my life to start after the surgery. My job has a big fundraising event every year in April and I want a dress that I feel good in. I have two weddings to attend this summer and want to look nice. I turn 40 in July and refuse to be fat at 40. I can't wait for this to start.

I have both of those flavors. Do you mix your Vanilla Bean Torte with milk?

    2 1/2 weeks post op

How are you feeling now? How much weight have you dropped?
  19. Oh Sexyback517! This is just so exciting! I'm sure all will go well. Let us know how you are.
  20. OMG! I think we might just be sisters! I am nearly 40 years old, married with 4 kids. My mother also disagrees (that's putting it verrrrry mildly) with my decision to have surgery. While I've told my mom I want VSG, I won't be telling her when (16 days) or where (Mexico). First, she'd get some lashes in with that sharp tongue she has about the surgery, but if she knew where I was going for it, she might disown me...hmmmm, not a bad thought! My mother constantly tells me about how my cousin and her mother had gastric bypass years ago and all of the issues my cousin has had since. My mother is a very negative person, she sees her glass as half full. She tells me that she's so worried about how things will be for me after the surgery and what if this or that happens. What if nothing happens? What if, after the surgery, I take proper care of myself and loose weight and find peace? What if I don't have surgery? Should I just stay miserable because I can't drop the weight? My husband recently lost 30 lbs after he was diagnosed as diabetic. It was like the weight just melted off of him. She asks me why I can't just do what he's doing. Uhhhhhmmmm, I probably eat healthier than he does but because I have ZERO metabolism I can work out like a maniac and lose maybe 4 lbs in 2 months. Ugh! I understand your frustration with this issue. Trust me, you're not alone. I wish I could give you advice, but as a daughter of a mother like yours, I know what you're going thru!
