  1. I have surprised myself at how much I am looking forward to this weekend in Vegas. I've long had a fear of crowds and a walking into a room where I don't know anybody is welll... not something I generally want to contemplate on a social setting. But I feel like I've gotten to know so many of you, I don't think I'll freak out too badly...
  2. wow, that site is... wow! I've got no time for cheap choclate! Gimme the good stuff!!!
  3. From what I understand you need to re-create a new one to reflect your new weight!
  4. I finally got around to making the Irio, and I was very happy with the results! I added 1/2 an onion and some garlic. Run the entire thing through a stick blender (or food mill or other type of blender) to make it truely mushy. It makes a fairly large pot, so you will need to adjust your mix accordingly. If you have a large freezer, or a family, there is probably not much an issue though. For added protien, add cheese, tofu or a meat before blending for mushy

Thanks Paula, it is my b-day today! Yay! I'm sitting here waiting for my flowers to be deliverd. (DH is sending me a bouquet today!) you funny old man always happy to see me my lumpy old dog My happy canine Endless source of laughter Watch out for dog bombs
  6. Okay, I'm still obsessing over this. Reading the various threads about gas, it just occured to me would taking something for the gas before surgery be a good idea???? Something like those baby drops?
  7. I think any pet that isn't psychotic is a good pet... We had gotten a pup from my sister --they found the mamma dog after she'd been hit by a car. Anyway, I believe the pup was part coyote, lots of 'em where she lives. We had to put him down because he was vicious, the dog trainer wouldn't even work with him. I love cats too, but I'm too alergic to them.
  8. ahmem. This thread is called "DeLarla's Weekly Fun Thread" and not "Oh Dear Gawd NOOOO!!!!!" My most insane weightloss was spending every waking moment I wasn't at work in bed with my first husband. I think I lost about 20 pounds that first month... <blushes furiously>

Fine. just fine. <mock exasperated sigh> This pix is 3 years old, before I decided to cut and color my hair. I am just not at all photogenic. <sigh> Great, gee thanks Paula. Now I'm gonna' hafta figure out why I'm so reluctant to have my pix taken, let alone posted. Something to do with self immage maybe? pictures can't capture the love I hold deep within images of me (I don't know how to make the pix smaller...)

Funny when you own the camera, there are never any pix of you... I could use my very old dog's pix as my avatir...
  11. Hi Allie Lee! Welcome! I believe Dr Montgomery will be doing my band as well. (don't quote me on that...) But definately NWWLS... (http://nwwls.com/ ) If you still need a ride, PM me and we will see what we can set up.
  12. Actually, if you got to a public library, you can generally get phone books for an entire regeon, (like the entire west coast) depending on the size of the library. If they don't have them, you can request them. As for telemarketers, put your name on the do not call list, and then if they still call, you can get money, ka-ching!

I dunno Penni--- good thing I"m not a skiny girl ... So I guess no forgiveness needed! Waves of gravity Pulling against my heart strings Unseen enemy (I wrote this one for Dylan’s Mom)
  15. oh Becky, it's fabulous! I was teasing one guys in my program because he was "so old!" "you have a 12-year-old?! Man, are you OLD!!!" I mean, I was seriously teasing him. After a month or so of my nonsence, he'd finally had enough of me! He said "okay, that's enough! I'll come and find you in 10 years and call you an old bag, and we'll see how you like it!" Man! Was he hot under the colar! So I calmly asked what year he grauated from high school. You should have seen his expression when I told him that I had graduated 5 years before him! Priceless!

  17. Oh this gave me quite the giggle! Being young is a new habit for me... As y'all know, I'm a full time university student, and it is SO fun to have the boys flirt with me, not knowing that I'm old enough to be somebody's mother!!! I can't wait to go from a size 22 to a size 12! Thanks everyone!
  18. I don't know that this is a violation, this is nothing more than a reverse phone book, which have been around as long as phone books have been around. These tools have been on the web as long as I've been using it, which goes back to when you needed to know such tools as gopher, Veronica and Archie, Pine and Elm. (yes, thank you, but I am that old.) And "to google" is a new verb.. Google is the name of a search engine, so "to google" is to simply use the google.com website to to a search.
  19. I view LBT as a public place, the same as if we were meeting at a coffee shop or the park. I know that I have no privacy on the net, other than how I choose to obscure myself. When I finally get around to posting pix of myself, the before and afters for instance, I will not have any problem with it being on the net. Okay, well, maybe the before pix... I found this place through a google search, and I am so greatful that I was able to do so. I am continually inpressed with the quality of people here, their willingness to share, educate and commiserate. I feel physically isolated being in ID where I have no access to any support groups. LBT is my support group. I have learned so much from everyone here, and I am most greatful that y'all have chosen to share the stories from your journey in a public forum, such as the internet.
  20. Happy birthday! (thud) Happy birthday! (thud) May the cities in your wake burn like candles on your cake! Happy birthday! (thud) Happy birthday! (thud)
  21. I initally found this board by doing a google search
  22. Bab, the compression garb is no big deal. I had a skin graft redone about 4 years ago, and have been putting warpping it for support ever since. If I can do this for years, you can do yours for a few months. ON your head no less, with one arm tied behind your back!
  23. I dunno Kelly, Estela's husband said his mom came straight from heaven... What BS. I am so sorry you are in this situation Estela. It sounds from your post that you are being emotially and verbally abused by this man. I highly recommend you contact your local domestic abuse hotline. They can help you come up with some sound stratagies for reclaiming your life. My first husband was very abusive. While he never hit me, he would make me "tough out" asthma attacks because he didn't want to be bothered to take me into the ER. (those of us who are astmatics I can hear you now: No Flippin' way!) After only a few years with him, I believed that I was worthless. I had gone into the relationship with very high self esteem. I was in therapy at a women's shelter for close to 3 years working on my abuse issues. Before I married that husband I'd been out with some really great guys and some real jerks, but I always felt more "at home" with the jerks. My weight wasn't the issue, it was because I grew up in an abusive household. I believed the lie "I only hurt you because I love you" because that is the same lie I was told my by parents. (don't forget, I was raised by wolves) You are not alone Estela. You don't have to feel lonely any more.
  24. congrats, and you will do just fine!
