  1. bumping along my journey
  2. Irio is perfect for a mushy! It has 5g Protein (more if you add cheese). I made a pot of it and got a bunch of those inexpensive small plastic containers. Now I can have Irio any time. It is slightly sweet because of the corn, and slightly savory because of the onion and garlic. I cannot wait to have some of the other mushies suggested! This weekend I'm going to make a pot of my chili. mmmm, chili

I saw the show lastnight, and I agree with you Jonathan. But don't forget, guttony is one of THE big seven. Since we are all fat, we are all gulttons, and are undeserving of any compassion. If we just had a little more will power... if we were just a little more righteous.. It took forever to convince my DH that he was NOT taking the easy way out if he got the band. Of course, when you weigh 600 pounds, nothing is easy... But I dont think this show is going to have much inpact because of all the negative feelings toward fat folk in general.
  4. I believe my first boyfriend was like that, without the peeing part.
  5. Good luck Isa! Isa's getting a ba-and! Isa's getting a no-ose! Isa's getting a chi-in!
  6. well, I've lost 20 pouns so far, and haven't dropped a size. Probably in another 10 pounds I'll have lost a size.
  7. The pee-pee man rides again! Yup, it is possible Jenna! I lost 9 pound last week!
  8. actually, I know that relationships can fail because of weight issues. I almost left my DH because of his weight and the problems it was causing. But his weight was totally out of control, and it was having a serious negative impact on everybody in his life.
  9. walked for 40 minutes, and worked with horses for 1.5 hours! (957 calories burned! According to http://www.caloriesperhour.com/index_burn.html)
  10. Hey Katerzz, I'm so sorry you are having such stress. Yes, it was really sucky that they sprung this on you at the last minute, and then said "oops, our bad."
  11. Hi Flower, your best bet for this one is under the Doctors and Hospital uber thread. Cheers!

CORRECTION! I didn't loose 43 inches, I lost 23 inches. I fat-finged, type-oh, wishful thinking, PEBKAC, I/O error... and the list goes on.
  13. what a great kid! that's something I would expect from my Spudboy!

This is a gi-normous NSV. I haven't used my inhaler in five whole days! As many of you know, I have terrible acute and chronic asthma. Five days before my band installation, I had to be taken to the ER via ambulance. My asthma was one of the main reasons I got the band, that whole prospect of death by resperatory failure just didn't apeal to me. (..."I want a death by misadventure, wanna be in a bus that crashes into a train, just like Ozzy Ozborn! I wanna death by misadventure. Got no deathwish, suicde is bogus, this practical dude has some years to go!" (http://www.bobrivers.com/audiovault/tunes/tunes.asp?Var=D It is 7th one down "Boys! turn that "Guns and Butter" down! ) My book bag doesn't seem as heavy as it was before I was banded. (and I do almost all my walking with that bookbag) It doesn't hurt to stand at the sink when I do the dishes anymore. I believe it is because I can get closer to the sink because my tummy is smaller. I've lost an inch from my waist! Speaking of inches lost, I've lost a total of 23 from my entire body. CORRECTION! I didn't loose 43 inches, I lost 23 inches. I fat-finged, type-oh, wishful thinking, PEBKAC, I/O error... and the list goes on.

  16. walked 40 minutes today, 20 crunches. Man, crunches sure don't feal right! It feels like there's soemthing in my tummy. Oh wait! There IS something in my tummy! ah ha ha ha ha. Anyway, it looks like I'm going to have to go slow and build up my crunches back to pre-op slower than I had expected.
  17. Yippie is right! that rocks that you are getting your band. And good for you for sticking to your guns about not getting the bypass!
  18. 21 pounds! I didn't want to go to the gym to weigh myself, because I was afraid I hadn't lost any weight last week, but I did, 9 entire pounds. I don't know where it came from though. I haven't lost a size.
  19. I just tracked my calories for the last several days, and I haven't broken 900 calories. I probably won't break 600 today. I'm not hungry and I'm not tired. I'm still on mostly liquids, only now venturing into the wide world of mush.
