I heard you gain 10 inches for every 10 lbs lost.
  2. You don't need to beat yourself up any longer over this, what's done is done. You must always remember, we are food addicts and food will always be plentiful. We must learn to navigate through this jungle if we are going to be successful. Try preparing your meals at home and bring them with you, so you will be less likely to stop at a FF joint. Ultimately you will have to buckle down and make the correct choices, all the encouragement in the world cant make you. This is one thing you will have to make the choice to do for yourself, you have been given a wonderful tool that can truly change your life. So MzGray29 go out and be amazing.

Normally I get all of my frustration and gossiping out at work.(PS we nurses do talk about patients at the nurses station) Since I have been off for 3 weeks, with 3 more to go......I say why not take it out on this thread. Soon I will be back at work gossiping about the patient in room 11.

    Any March Sleevers?

Hello valvelazquez. How have you been post op?

    (considering) Nose job anyone?

Minkwinks you definently want to get a surgeon, that has worked on people of all ethnicities. My surgeon was the Chief of Plastic Surgery. I am also multi ethnic Afro Caribbean/Caucasian, my father was PISSED (but it wasn't his nose or his choice) I wanted to keep my ethnic features just tone it down and narrow it out. I didn't want the Janet/Michael Jackson look. I am very pleased with the results. Dad, not so much

    (considering) Nose job anyone?

Yes the first week was awful, I had a lot of packing so that was the worst part. For me the swelling was gone in about totally in about 10 months. I had cartilage taken from my ear to refine the tip rather than using a non autologous graft. The more intensive the work usually the swelling is longer, the average person will not notice the swelling.

    (considering) Nose job anyone?

I had my nose done before I became overweight, it's the only thing that didn't expand when I gained the weight.

    what happens at pre op?

I can honestly tell you the first night was pure HELL!! But especially for me. I told the anesthesiologist NOT to give me dilaudid, it make me terrible nauseous and anxious, low and behold after surgery I wake up in PACU with a PCA(patient controlled anesthesia) the nurse was telling me to push my button of course I did. A few hours later I was puking my guts up and feeling like I was losing it. Later I asked what was in the PCA and the nurse said dilaudid!!! Well they changed the medication and I had to stay an extra day. That was the only thing that was bad, I am a PACU nurse myself and I was just lost for words. However the majority of the March sleevers on a thread I am following say the same thing the first day is the worst, I took pain meds for 2 days after returning home and that was it. I feel better than normal, the day after I came home I started walking 3 x's a day for 20 min. My mom flew in to help with the kids while the hubby was a work, honestly I have not really needed help. I keep joking with my mom that I am taking care of her more than she is of me. Shes been great company. Well good luck to you, and like and like I said you will love the hospital and the nurses they were exceptional.

    Eating too much..

That's normal for 10 weeks per my nutritionist, I am 3 weeks and I eat 3-4oz. For dense proteins like meat I can only tolerate 2-3 oz, but if it's soft or semi liquid I can tolerate 4 oz.

    Calcium citrate chews?

RareGold3000 I talked with the pharmacist and he said Citracal was calcium phosphate not calcium citrate.

19 Lbs down gain back 3 Lbs

Below is what you posted yesterday, when you go off plan and advance your diet to foods that aren't Protein dense and that are high in sodium weight gain should be expected. Evidently you felt bad enough, as you did say you wanted to confess what you did. Or maybe it's like you said it's just your period. Posted March 22, 2013 - 4:37 PM Im 10 days post op and I've been sneaking in soft foods..broccoli and fish oh and a pickle (no skin) I haven't eating a lot but I just had to confess. Im actually 19lbs down! But I haven't lost anything in the last 2days just wondering if I may have caused a stall ..remember I was losing 2 1/2 to 3 lbs a day!

    12 Days Post OP

I do not eat more than 4 oz at one sitting. You can go buy some measuring cups from the grocery store. Don't get in the habit of wanting to be full, we have done that and you see how that worked for us Don't drink fluids when eating, if you concentrate on getting in dense proteins you wont be as hungry, because they take longer to digest.

Didn't you just post yesterday that you have been going off your diet plan? You stated that you have been sneaking food and also eating pickles which are high in sodium.

    12 Days Post OP

It's a learning curb, now you know and you can prevent this in the future. I seriously doubt if you have done any damage. However you want to be careful as you too are newly sleeved and healing. There have been many threads about people who have gotten leaks, and they don't sound like fun. Slow down and enjoy your egg next time

    12 Days Post OP

You should start measuring you food. Try making it your goal to not eat until you feel full, try eating slower. Measuring your food will assist in you maintaining good restriction. Hope this helps.

I am a Support person- here is my story

I think it's great that you are soooo supportive!! I think it is so very important, that our loved ones take an active role in this weight loss journey. Things can turn out so very wrong, I have read several threads with spouses who sabotage and create insecurities for the person who has had this surgery. Again kudos to you for being a great support system, and for becoming a healthier person yourself. I am a mother as well, and I can say I have more energy and enthusiasm about my future, Good luck and well wishes to you both.
