  1. I started my pre op deit in October when I made my deposit. I started drinking two Protein shakes a day and a low carb dinner. I went from 390lbs to 348lbs (as of yesterday). Yesterday I started my doc Rx pre op which is the Protein Shakes and low carb dinner for 14 days then 4 days of a clear liquid diet. I have to be honest I am tired of the shakes. Today I only had one so far but I went to sonic and got a route 44 cup of ice and poured a hunger crystal light over it so i have been sipping on that and eating the ice. I know later I may have to have the shake but it seems to be working for me as of now....

Gosh, I'm fussing here about doing a month of Protein pre-op and look at you-- since Oct!!! Your doing awesome! I'm only 2 days in, headaches and snuck in a string cheese. I figure 800 cal and minimal carbs should be good.

  2. I am scheduled for February 27th ! No second guessing I am totally prepared. Although now I'm getting all the questions/comments from others like am I sure I wanna do this' date=' you don't need to do this, why are you doing this. My reply: I'm doing this for me, it's happening, end of discussion. Stops them in their tracks lol.[/quote']

We are scheduled for the same day!! Yay! ;)

  3. I would have to pay 20%.... But the way it's looking this surgrey is out f the question for me... I'm <3 broken

When I was getting the crazy run around and kept thinking it was the insurance--- come to find out it was the Medical Group since I have an *** that was really the problem. Have spoken with the insurance, because there is a appeal process? I was almost at the point of getting a lawyer too after my appeal was denied thinking it was all the insurance's fault but I called and spoke with a couple people at the medical group and threatened the lawyer and things suddenly changed. Btw- I have a high BMI, borderline HBP- nothing else.

  4. Just got news that my upper GI came back abnormal;(---- the PA said probably not a big deal, but I now need to see a specialist. They said issue was,"Mild esophageal dysmotility and distal tertiary contractions". I'm trying to find out more and if anyone has had this issue... But not much success on my search. I still have my surgery date, so at least that wasn't cancelled yet;). Yikes--- I just feel bummed that I've come so far!! Also, this doesn't help motivate me to start pre-op diet!!!

  5. I've past the excited and positive outlook stage as well. I"m in the 'trying not to talk myself out of it' phase. I know this is what I want but there's a lot of fear and doubt creeping in and with the understanding that the next 3 months may just suck...it's no wonder this is no trip to disney for me.

This is EXACTLY how I'm feeling! I'm trying not to let doubt and fear override my year long fight to get this surgery... But I'm struggling. I know I won't back out of it, but I'm just getting to the really scared and overwhelmed part. Glad I'm not alone;)

  6. I regularly go on rants about these products. In the past I've tried to find ways to be nice about it' date=' but I've failed miserably.

First off THANK YOU for posting the label. Notice in the ingredients the first thing listed in their "Protein blend" is collagen. This is where these shots derive most of their Protein. Your body cannot absorb the Proteins in collagen. These shots are PURE GARBAGE. Anybody that recommends them is caught up in the hype of Protein Shots & has not actually done the research. Collagen, aka Gelatin fail miserably at every protein measuring test out there.

If you would like to verify this yourself google the words COLLAGEN & PDCAAS together.[/quote']

THANK YOU very much for the info! Very helpful and I appreciate you responding!

  7. At the nutrition class I had to attend, they really emphasized that you could go back whenever you felt ready---the big HOWEVER was that you needed to still focus on your Water intake and Protein intake. Most jobs don't allow us to drink and eat constantly so that was the one concern my NUT had. Lots of people get dehydrated once they return to work because they get busy and can't drink like they are suppose to. Soooo, just drink up and stay hydrated everyone:)!
