  1. I am so excited! I had my first post op appt Thursday and they took my drain out which was great as I was so sick of that thing. My excitement is from the fact that I have lost 17lbs. I was sleeved on the 27th and I sometimes wonder what I am doing wrong because I am not having any issues. I can drink almost normally with no pain. It isn't until I eat that I realize that my intake has cut down dramatically. I am just scared that if it is too easy I will slip back into old habits. I keep reminding myself that I lost about 30 lbs pre op by the changes I had already made I will not slip back because I know better. I guess I am scared of old patterns.

Awesome job!!! 30 pre-op + 17 post op--- you r rocking that sleeve!! You got this, trust yourself ;)

  2. I am 9 days post-op and my first few days were not very successful. However, each day did get better in terms of being able to consume fluids. Maybe try to focus on Water and TINY sips. If you can't get that to happen within the next day or so you prob need to call your dr because of the risk of hydration. Keep in mind everything tasted sooooo gross to me the first 3-4 days;(---but persistence pays off. Hang in there sweetie!

  3. Ended up in the ER last night for dehydration and low blood sugar. I'm thinking I don't eat enough at this mushy stage because I don't want to overeat. I would rather die than vomit. My doc says I have to stop being scared and eat! Just go slow to learn my limits. I don't measure my fluids and he suggested the shot glass like many of you also use. I'm almost three weeks out and only two more weeks until regular food!

Well now your fully hydrated!! So, try your best ;) Glad you went in!

  4. I wouldn't be too concerned' date=' stomachs can be different sizes, I see some people on here sleeved a week after me and able to eat 2-3 times the amount of soft food then I can. I was so worried I could only take in 1-2 tbsps of food I called my nut and she said there is no such thing as too little food. I guess that would go the same for you.[/quote']

Good point! Sometimes I feel like I'm pushing it trying to get in as much Fluid as possible;(

  5. I am eating as much Protein as possible! I eat and drink all day. I get about 40-50 right now. up to about 50oz of Fluid including Water. I have tried sooo many protein powders...drinks. spent so much money... I can't stand any of them. im getting @ most 500 calories. sigh.

I'm about with you and I'm only 6 days post op-- maybe try to up the protein. I know it's tough!!! I hate all the sweet artificial flavored crap!!! My God send has been the unflavored Sytrax Nextar. I now do 2 coups per 1 cup of liquids which gives me 20g a protein. If you haven't tried it, I will send you some;)--- really! At least so you can try before u buy. Call your surgeon or NUT -- they need to help you through this;)

  6. surgery was 2-11. I feel fine. no real issues other then not being able to eat any kind of Protein powder or mixed drink. incisions are fine. Water hurts but lemon Water doesn't. SUPER FRUSTRATED. lost 14 the 1st week and nothing for 2weeks now. no more lost inches either. seriously the 14 I could have done without surgery. I understand stalls in a way but 1st month is bull. you eat so little and get nothing. seriously aggravated.

I'm no expert--- but I read a few times on here if your not getting all your Protein in you will not lose. Are you getting all your protein in? Sorry your struggling...don't give up!

  7. I had my sleeve on 2/25 as well. The first couple days were not fun' date=' but I can also tolerate drinking fluids without a problem (about 1/2 cup, rest, finish the other 1/2 cup). Started creamy Soups today. I was able to finish one of those Campbell's Tomato "soup on the go". I've also had good luck with Isopure clear Protein from GNC - 40 grams of protein, so I'm sure to get my 60 grams in daily! Different flavors, I like the Mango/Peach the best! I understand I am doing much better than most and am VERY GREATFUL! You are not alone![/quote']

Does the Isopure change the flavors of your Soup?

  8. I'm still on full liquids and gagging at the smell of more cream of chicken Soup. Today we went to Kroger and got some fancy cream bisque Soups from Campbells like Golden Butternut Squash and Thai Tomato Coconut. My husband also ran into the Chinese restaurant and got me a container of egg drop soup. I only eat a little bit at a time' date=' but it tastes great. It's mostly broth and really thin egg, so I hope it's ok.

Walking around the grocery store sucked. I thought I had energy and wanted to get out of the house. Ugh.[/quote']

How far out are you? I tried the Golden BNSquash-- very tasty. However much more purée than I expected. i strained and only used the liquid. As good as it tasted -a mere 2 oz left me with a gassy pressure feeling for hours!!!! Let me know how you do so I can decide whether or not to try again another time.

  9. Same here!!! I went under at 246lbs and weigh 250 now! Smh! I'm having MAJOR headaches! Anyone have headaches post op?

Yes, I have had them. Today was my first day of relief. Praying no headache tmrw as well.

  10. I am 4 days post up and can get plenty of fluids in and Jello...etc. no problem. I am starting Protein tomorrow and have have only Clear liquids...tomorrow starts full liquids. The only thing is I feel very blah...weak and easily fatigued and lightheaded....just blah and not myself...please some one tell me this gets better b/c I don't have the energy I need to take care of 2 kids and a household. Is this normal at this stage...

I've read before that once you get your Protein intake higher your energy will increase. Your so lucky your not having issues getting fluids in! I wish!!!

  11. I am 11 days. And have had horrible Time. As I said before my one week checkup they did a CAT scan and found a small tiny Leak. Since then I've been in the hospital twice and have had a pick line put in which hit a nerve and had to be removed three days later. I don't know if this will get better but I certainly hope so. I am down 40lbs since my 2 week diet pre op. anyone else with a leak can share their experience?

Post in the general post op section, and I know there will be others who have had similar experiences. I'm so sorry your going through this--- I feel overwhelmed enough with my small bumps in the road, I can't imagine how your feeling. Keep your head up sweetie!
