  1. When I started this journey I was wearing a 3X top and it was tight. I wondered the same thing as you. Now I am wearing a women's XL and sometimes L depending on the cut. I still have about 39 lbs to lose. Hope that helps... Best Wishes!

    It's the little things......

My joints no longer hurt, I don't worry about food anymore. If I want to eat healthy fat (avocado) or ( peanut butter) I have it. I don't worry about it. I enjoy food instead of dreading the guilt after eating. I enjoy the shocked look I get from people I haven't seen in awhile..Now that's a fun feeling!

    Returning to work?

I did the surgery through So Cal Kaiser. Most people that have a job with no lifting can return to work in a few weeks. My job requires heavy lifting so I was off longer. At the 2 week point I believe you will be at the stage where you can have strained cream soups, yogurt. So Yes I think in your line of work you should be fine. Many office workers go back after one week. Best wishes to you!

Do u ever feel normal about food?

I can honestly say I feel normal. I do have to do extra planning when I am out for the entire day. I always make sure I have protien shakes or snacks with me. I actually have some protein items in my car at all times. Even that is not necessary because you can pick up a protein item almost anywhere now. I carry them with me because it is more cost effective buying in bulk. I did that before my surgery. That being said my life feels.very normal...

whats the deal with sugar free post op?

If I remember correctly the reason lots of surgeons say go sugar free is to avoid dumping syndrome. Mostly people that have had the stomach by-pass suffer from this. However it has happened to folks with the sleeve surgery. Every surgeon is different. Just follow what feels right for you and your Dr.s advice. It's can get crazy trying figure out sometimes. Best Wishes

    middle of ny chest!

In the beginning it is usually gas.... I used gas x strips that helped a lot. Honestly at ten months out if I drink too much too fast or eat too much too fast I feel the same pressure... I have to remind myself sip ... don't gulp.... eat slow.... and yes walking does help to relive the discomfort. Hope you find relief soon!

    Nausea after surg?

Before surgery ask for a patch for nausea. The patch works for several days. My Dr gave me a prescription .... the pills desolve on the tongue... sorry act remember the name.
  15. I personally thought they were to costly. And the protien grams seemed low. I started buying primer protein shakes....they have 30 grams of protein.. 5 carbs , with 160 calories. I love them.... I even freeze them and eat them like ice cream..... has been a nice refreshing treat! I buy them at Costco a case is $24 with 18 shakes per case
  16. Won't miss Feeling like my head is going to burst bending down The embarrassment of not fitting in the turnstiles at venues Having to sit out physical activities Having to shop at big people clothing stores
  17. Hi let's where do I start lol! Yes relationships change. Most of the changes have been positive. A few not so much.... the negative changes were from my friends that are still heavy and still in denial about their size. I have tried every approach...saying nothing about it & when they bring it up offer to do whatever it takes to help them reach their goals. And none of that was enough.... the misery is inside them and that I can't change. As for me all that has changed is my size and energy level.... I am still the happy go lucky person I was before! I feel fantastic and really healthy... best decision ever!

Greetings... Inland empire area... congrats on your progress so far!

    not so sure now?

I can honestly say that any wls is only a tool.....it's how you use the tool. Recently I was at a support group and out of 30 people only 4 of us had the sleeve. The remaining folks had the bypass. Out of the 26 with the bypass only one was happy with it and had no problems. That shocked me. Several were people who had it done more than 2 years ago when the sleeve was not known really. Most admitted if they could do it again the sleeve would have been their choice. That being said the wieght loss for most of those folks were the same as the sleeve patient's. Hope in some way this helps. Best Wishes Tina
  20. Doing well....been stalled for a bit.... but happy with the differences so far..a whole new life! Loving my sleeve

Multi vit makes me feel sick

I am not sure why... I had the same thing going on for the first six months. My Dr suggested taking it before bed. That seemed to help. Now at ten months they don't have that effect on me. Hope you get through this bump fast. Best Wishes Tina

    Day 10 and not hungry

This is very normal.... I am at about 10 and still have days I am not hungry. I have to remind myself to get in all the protien and liquids. As long as you do that you are sAfe. I drink the premier shakes from Costco. They have 30 grams of protien each. Continue to sip, sip, sip liquids. I had many days in the beginning I felt weak that is normal.also. Best Wishes
