rglawler reacted to lilbearzmom in Dec. 17 Sleevers - How are you on week out?
Hi everyone- just an update on me. Seems like this thread is still pretty active. Current stats: HW: 302, SW: 272, CW: 172. I have managed to drop 100 since surgery and am 12 lbs from initial goal of 160. I am off all medication and feel pretty good. I have had my share of stalls, but I try to be patient, and usually the scale won't budge for 2-3 weeks then I drop a bunch- very stair-step like. I use myfitnesspal religiously- I really think it has helped me keep on track. Add me if you like on there- tons of VSG folks there who are very supportive and motivating. )))) -Kendra

I am about 10 months out and its weird I had more confidence before weight loss than I have now. my skin use to look so good even being fat I filled out my body well , now I feel flabby and see hanging skin in areas it use to not hang what the heck .... also I find that its a lot harder to date when you really cant eat much and everyone wants to take you to dinner and drinks, I found a way to get around the drink part by saying I am not a drinker but the dinner part is becoming hard, I don't want to tell people I have just met that I use to be fat and have lost over 100 lbs... that is just not first date material when and if it becomes necessary I will tell them , I try to order something small but wth only being able to eat a small portion it is hard... i try to say lets do something else but men love to eat.... lol

How much are we supposed to be eating in the first few weeks/months? Taking anti acid, but still feel hungry alot. Eating what I am supposed to and only eating 3 or 4 times a day, but when I am eating my Soup I am wanting more than 1/2 cup.

If anyone has netflix please watch "Hungry for change", it is truly amazing and hits so close to home. This is not a documentary on a bunch of healthy people telling you to change and be healthy, this is about people who were overweight or morbidly obese and changed.

I've been doing so good while going thru all my appointments. Now, knowing that the pre-op diet is just days away, I can't stop eating stuff. I HAVE NO FREAKING CONTROL!!!!!

It will be a year on 1/19/12 and I went from 256 to 135. I went from a 22 to a size 4-6 and feel great. I just changed my profile picture.

I would say that in the grand scheme of things, and in the long run, these moments of weakness won't matter AS LONG AS YOU NIP IT IN THE BUD now. Believe me, I am on day 10 of the post-op full liquid diet, and I also watched my family eat lots of good food, so I know how you feel. OK, I did eat two small teaspoons of speadable cheese and an equally small bite of mashed potatoes. Not all in one day, but still. I'm not perfect.
I have to ask how in the world you tolerated popcorn? That is crazy....

I was sleeved a week ago tomorrow. My physician said Clear liquids only for week 1, and then progress to full liquids week 2-3.
So Christmas day I had watched as everyone enjoyed whatever goodies they wanted. In a moment of feeling sorry for myself, I ate a sugar cookie. Not that it really matters but I did chew until almost liquified.
I knew it was a mistake, but I didn't feel any reprocussions and I said I wouldn't do that again.
Today, Im feeling great a decided to take my daughter to Chick-fil-a and a movie. I told myself that I could resist the temptations, but quickly found myself in a familiar situation. I had one chicken nugget and one fry (well chewed). I felt terrible emotionally, but physically I was fine.
Then the movies... I took several bites of popcorn.< /p>
    So my thoughts/questions:
    1. Have I completely messed this up?
    2. Why am I never satisfied?
    3. Should I be able to drink all day without ever feeling a problem?
    4. Has anyone else/ felt similar?
    5. Though I have outward incisions, why don't I feel anything internally? I used a very reputable physician.

I'm not looking for rudeness. I'm a food addict like most others here. Looking for real advice.

rglawler got a reaction from rocionelizalde in Jello please help is this normal
I probably COULD eat my pudding in that amount of time, but I try my best to eat slowly. I am so excited when I eat pudding or Soup (because it is like eating normal food) that I eat at least 1 cup. Worried that I am abnormal or something wrong because I feel hungry most of the time, and can consume so much. My post-op check up is tomorrow, and hoping for the best, Would hate to think that I have messed myself up in less than 2 weeks!

I was sleeved on the 19th as well and left on full liquids. If Jello is easy on your tummy, eat it up...it melts like a liquid and would count as it as well. Good luck!
