  1. I dont judge other peoples food habits but that is probably not the best move.
  2. well, yes, and no. Helpful right? Being "big boned" is a total myth, there have been studies that compare anatomy of people who are reasonable the same height and what you find is that the SIZE of the bones very to a VERY small degree. However, size and density are not the same thing. Weight bearing exercise does increase density, which does increase weight so its not crazy to say that someone who has been carrying extra weight MAY have high bone density, but then its also important to note that a lot of fat people have terrible nutrient thin diets so that logic does not always play out like you think it might.
  3. I had my surgery to days ago, the only thing I brought to the hospital with me were a change of clothes, and my phone. I wasnt even on my phone that much because I was sleepy.
  4. ah! this is a great idea. Thank you for sharing.
  5. welp it seems to me that you really have three options. 1) start a monitored dieting program. Most insurances require it so go ahead and do that. 2) look into purchasing other insurances that DO cover it and see if that is financially a practical thing to do for your family. 3) start looking at self pay more seriously just in case that is the most realistic option for you. I don't think this is something people should really go DEEP into debt for, but thats just me.
  6. While I sort of agree that this whole thing is kind of abrupt and it seems like the PT may not have done her part I think its important to consider that she is still rather fresh post op and shes sick.
  7. More than likely you are just feeling the gas but thats not anything to play with. I would give the office a call and see what they have to say.
  8. If it were me I would just do the broth but I suppose if you are on the puree phase you could dump a little in the blender but I would just worry about really getting it blended though. THere are the carbs too but honestly, that this stage (at least for me) I have been getting almost NO carbs so I don't feel like that is the deal breaker.
  9. I think that people who over use absolutes like "literally" take the wind out of what they are saying. Very few things are literal
  10. I agree, we can still do alcohol we just have to be careful about when and how we go about it. Personally, I have sworn if off for 18 months. I made a pact to myself to follow ALL my guidelines to the best that I can for 18 months, and then after that I told myself that I can loosen up but for once in my life, I need to take something seriously. But I know that's just me... I don't judge people who still have a drink here and there, as long as your not telling me your one or two weeks out of surgery trying to do that.
  11. I have noticed a lot of people on here freshly post op seem to be in a state of emotional fragility. I think its normal. I'm only 2 days post op so everything is sort of new to me and I have been so focused on getting my liquids in and walking and doing all that so I havent really had time to think about how I am emotionally. I think a month post op the newness is wearing off and life as it is going to be is starring you in the face. I don't know how you feel about that but I recently suggested to someone else to take up a hobby, and I stand by that for this type of thing as well. We need something to put our energy into that we used to spend with food, eating, and obsessing. Right now I am learning how to do a real manicure on myself, totally shallow and meaningless but its something to do.
  12. Wooo what to do now eh? My first thought was that now you have to cope with it like a regular person, but I'm not sure what that means either. Maybe take up a constructive hobby?
  13. Yeah I have to say, I am two days post op and couldnt wait to get that thing off me for some reason, I took it off a few hours ago and man... I didn't realize how much it was doing for me.
  14. scraping my tongue, brushing my teeth and swishing helps me deal with that a lot.
  15. Hey yeah, I am on day two post op and feeling alright. Just got my tegaderm bandages off me and the pump out so all I have left is the drain.
  16. Glad to hear it, maybe avoid peanut butter for a while
  17. What brought this about? Honestly, I stay away from the TV all together. I don't want to watch food commercials. I do fine the more I remove myself from America's unhealthy obsession with terrible food.
  18. If you can't throw up I would lay down or recline and focus on breathing.
  19. Just don't forget that you DO have options. I don't know how you feel about that but it is something to consider.
  20. I had mine on the 22nd. I'm doing really well. shoulders are sore from the gas but I just got home from the drugstore with some reusable hot pads
  21. As much as I do not agree with what she as posted here and the way she has conducted herself we have no basis for calling her a lush. Lets keep it classy, please.
  22. I will jump on here when I am allowed to have my phone back and let you know!
  23. Know waaaaayyyy too much. I was in the shower counting the ways something could go wrong.
