  1. 2 of my friends had their surgeries delayed because they gained weight. Not because they didn't lose enough
  2. Let me know how you do. I was scheduled for Wednesday too but chickened out. I'm a doctor. I think we nurses and docs know too much for our own good.
  3. Just wondering, how on earth did you surgery approved at 165????
  4. My friend loved them. I couldn't stand them. They are very filling, have no flavor but smell aweful. They are like tofu, they have to have some type of sauce to take on a flavor.
  5. My surgeon said six weeks post op. but he said walking every two hours would help
  6. You will be fine! I went through menopause at 41 and didn't have any of those issues, except hot flashes, until late 50s. Once you are done with the hot flashes, it is so nice to not have the hassles of periods and mood swings!
  7. If you get symptoms get Tamiflu from your Dr within 48 hrs and you should be OK for surgery
  8. Are you sure you want to be the first surgery this doctor has done!?
  9. My Dr said 3 weeks but to try to take off 6
  10. I too am in the medical field so have cancelled this surgery 3 times. We know too much so are more anxious . Ask your anesthesiologist for drugs!!! Lol. Let me know how you do and maybe I won't cancel for a 4th time.
  11. When was the last time you lost 5 pounds in a week? Sounds pretty good to me!
  12. University of Missouri has a week by week guide. You can google it. They are a leading research center
  13. No a CBC doesn't show thiamine deficiency. She has permanent damage since it took so long to find the cause. She had a sleeve and loves it
  14. I have the same question. I have a friend who wants to come stay with me but she thinks my yorkies should stay outside. To be honest she is more trouble than help. I would rather be alone but wonder if its possible
  15. This happened to a friend and they found her to be thiamine (b1) deficient
  16. Wow what a response. The way I see it you have doctors from "laughed" to those saying 1 yr out, means no one knows.
  17. Anti social deviant behavior. A medical term for crazy. Unable to see the world in a normal way. Thinks the life revolves around them
  18. Wow. An ASDB person has joined in this conversation! Please ignore him, it's a psychotic disorder and he can't help it. Kflan has a good response
  19. This got so any posts that I decided to talk to the expert. I work with my surgeon and asked him the question. He said alcohol too early runs the very high risk of causing ulcers on the staple line and causes a likelihood of a leak.

It's from the intubation for anesthesia. Ask your doctor for Flonase (or any brand)
  21. Thanks for the positive response. I have a "huge" hiatal hernia that the surgeon says will be my only pain. How long was your recovery
  22. You are in good company. My knees were knocking when I talked to the surgeon. He wanted to take me to the OR in 2 weeks. I negotiated 4 weeks to get a handle on my fears! He didn't help by telling me my pain from the hiatal hernia part of the surgery was going to be horrific for 2 days.
  23. It really sucks doesn't it. I met with the surgeon today and he wants me to go on 5 shakes a day ( gross) and no food for 4 weeks. Then there's the post op period with the same. All I can think of is 2 months will pass and I can survive....I think
