  1. I'm in ONE...DERLAND..............I thought I would never make it here......to some my journey here is short, but for me it's taken me 21yrs....since my baby boy........I saw the ONES briefly with my lapband but as many revision patience know it just comes right back.......I'm so happy right now!!!!!, thank you God! What do you want to shout out loud? Sent from my iPad using VST
  2. OMG....even if I could I wouldn't out if shear fear if stretching or popping something...... I'm definitely not judging just concerned. I made the choice to have this surgery because I wanted it ring help me make better decisions in what, and when to put something in my mouth. Even if I just chewed the cheese and threw out the trash I would be too scared. I never want to go back to where I was and that motivates me. We have ring teach our bodies. The only thing i have to say is with my sleeve, I don't ever hear my stomach growl even if I haven't eaten. That is truly a change from before......good luck with your journey remember its just a tool u need to choose to use
  3. ****sorry for the typos***** Also wanted to say that when u see the 1lb a day drop, it motivates me for the rest of the day
  4. I weigh every morning after using the bathroom and before taking a shower. I track everything I eat and drink and want to know when I'm stalled. I review my food choices make changes, increase cardio and have even reverted back to a full clear liquid diet for two days ring shock my body. I feel I need to know. I feel knowing is power and I will be able ring make better decisions. I do have to say that I only record my eight once a week. This helps if there is any fluctuation (1x) and stalls (2x). Also, this is what's good for ME, MYSELF, and I....maybe not everyone
  5. I first had the lapband removed then waited about five months to heal.....I had the sleeve done and trust me the pain ur feeling is the band removal....it most have eroded into ur stomach.....when I was sleeved it really was no where near the band pain......walk, walk, walk
  6. Thanks we should really post updates more often, everyone is different but it's a good gauge.....BTW....I'm 5'8"
  7. I can't stomach anything milky or replacement for milk...I use protein to go....it's only 2.5 oz and 28g of protein. I drink half bottle of water then pour it in....it's like having a drink....II started adding them to my morning smoothies which I use Dr Smoothies mix (mango) ice, fruits if u desire....together the one drink total 53g of protein....I buy the dr smoothie at my local ballys that has a smoothie bar....oh I forgot I also add 2tbsp of flaxseed (grounded) bought that at te vitamin store....the dr smoothie mix gives me about ten smoothies and cost about $22....the protein to go is $36 for 24 and the flaxseed grounded is $21 for a lb bag....I have a second protein to go in my water and total over 70g of protein a day.....BTW I tried the protein shakes from Walmart and others....lets just say I must be near a bathroom if I ever try that again
  8. VaVaVaVooooooooom.....wow....you look great!!!!????but yikes 7 days a week....I've been pushing myself to do three.....very limited schedule....but if I can have similar results (for a woman that is) ill sleep there..
  9. Can not and will not speak on other surgeons but i used Dr. Alejandro Lopez and i site his first name Bc there is another Dr. Lopez.....he did mt surgery at Mi Doctor and I an happy with my results, my driver Abraham and Eduardo. They were all very attentive to me and my needs. I would recommend them. I am a lawyer and know te ramifications of the hearsay on these threads. People need to be very careful wht they say in print. Be mindful also that for many of these doctors it is also about feeding and providing for their families. I am sure you would not want ppl to spread gossip and untruths about you in your profession even if you are a stay at home mom....that is your profession. Likewise, the statements about "having proof" unless it is your own experience and or you were there it is still hearsay. If anyone would like to inbox me about my own personal experience with Dr. Lopez, and Dr. Ortiz I will be happy to answer questions.
  10. 3/22/13.......SD HW........259 SW........224 CW........205 Weight loss only 19 lbs 5' 7"..…50-60g Protein.…6 cups Water a day.…exercise twice a wk..(schedule with a 3yr old)… Where is everyone else?
  11. Hi all, I'd like to take an informal survey. I'm now four weeks post opt and I'm logging my food, shakes, water and exercise like a mad woman using MFP. (Couldn't find the time for it before.....hahaha) I'm accessing my overall progress however, and noticing as much as I'm trying to be careful my carb intake is pretty high.....I'm loosing, for which I'm eternally grateful but it's slow. I'm in the gym 2-3x a week....work schedule with a three yr old...ill also try to increase my exercise but I gal ready have to wake up at 5:30 to get to work so it's kinda hard. If ur reading please let me know about how much carbs you are takin in....I'm also at about 68-78 G protein and 56-60 oz of water...any info helps.....u never really read labels before now I realize I can hardly eat anything Bc most are high in carbs....
  12. Manalapan, NJ by way of Riverdale, NY Sent from my iPad using VST
  13. I'm three wks out and a teacher.....I had my surgery on the day bf spring break then back to work after one week.....if you don't have complications....and drink, drink, drink, Protein shots are the best with a little Water you'll be fine.....my boss doesn't like it when we sit and teach during our lessons so I've found it helps with digestion, and I got a monitor...the UP bracelet that monitors activity and converts it into calories burned and its so motivational to me o keep moving......UP to 20k steps in a day now... Sent from my iPad using VST
  14. Oh BTW....3wks out and I'm down 17 lbs Sent from my iPad using VST
  15. 3 wks out.....use to be a Venti caramel macchiato everyday.....sometimes 2x a day....that's 40oz.....I truly craved it......now I'll make an 8oz cup with skim milk...I use to do soy....I usually don't finish it.....no craving for it.....and it's regular coffee....hasn't done nothing so far........BTW....the caffeine issue is bc of dehydration, but I get 60-70oz in a day Sent from my iPad using VST
  16. I cook sometimes with recipes but cook mostly with recipes I grew up with......would I have to find every single seasoning and add it....right now (being only 3 wks out) that might be too much for me. Sent from my iPad using VST
  17. Same with me...MyFitnessPal keeps me in check when I see the calories dwindling I conserve...I'm working on my carb intake now be my protein shots are around 70g a day....I've been in a stall for a week so ill change my foods around tomorrow (3 wks out) so I can trick my body....you should try the app it's great....also I'm staying away from "home cooked foods " Bc I find the caloric in take inaccurate
  18. @ Michele1024....At first I thought it was head hunger but two nights I waited and wanted to see if my stomach would growl....It didnt but I was keen on knowing it was real hunger and not just head hunger.... @MichiganChic....thanks working out is great now that Im officially back in the gym ironically today, but I workout in the morning....I have my daughter in the afternoons/evenings and really don't have time for the gym again @Geri 123.....I plan my meals up to 2:30pm bc my school is not in a convenient location to get a good meal...or anything healthy for that matter.....Its when I come home.....I'll try planning dinner also.....BTW...try using the app MyFitnessPal...you insert your food intake as well as exercise and it converts it for you into calories, and nutrition......its how I know Im keeping myself under 700 calories.... Thanks for the responses.....regardiless of what it is real hunger or head, I really have to figure it out bc later on when I can eat more, I don't want to continue poor habits like before the surgery
  19. So I'm 3 wks out and diligent about my diet in the morning...(MyFitnessPal makes it easy).....but I get off work t 2:30pm and between then and sleep I really slip up with this food stuff....Before the surgery I had the same problem but now in the afternoon I get really hungry...WTH.......can I get some suggestions on how to curb this and what to eat...still on mushy....eating 56 g of Proteins by 2pm
  20. Well I had my surgery with Dr. Alejandro Lopez....Dr. Ortiz assisted but I think it's a different Ortiz. My coordinators are through Alighterme. I'm happy with my results. Now it's up to me to use this tool in the right way. It's definitely not a quick fix but this is a proces....a continuous process. I think I worry mor about food now than before. But no complains. Btw, when I had my revision surgery in NJ I was treated like crap.at MI Doctor in MX I was treated well and it was very clean
  21. You look great, how strict we're you with your postopt diet, I'm struggling and only two weeks out...I feel ok about my 15lbs loss but it seems like nothing compared to others....I'm still on thick soups but starting to get hungry.....to manage I would have a popsticle or Gatorade.....a friend of mine that had his done in 2010 and pretty much loss 100lbs in 4 mths told me to stay on broths longer....not sure if I can do that
  22. Hi thank you for this. I'm only two weeks out but have already reactivated my membership at the gym. I will start with light weights when I start next week...thanks again....
