Carb loading the day before a big hike
I have no answer. Just wanted to say I want to go with you! I had total knee replacement surgery, partially due to previously being obese. I'm stuck at home!

Unofficial denial :(
Put quarters in your pockets. (me trying to make you smile) My co-morbodities got mine pushed through. Somehow the doctors staff did miracles.

@@esskay77 I wish I could get back to hiking. I can barely walk a block now. (had total knee replacement surgery) BUT, my walking stick is by the door waiting on me.

One and a half years out - gastric sleeve surgery
@@esskay77 No words of advice. I just kept doing what I'd been told to do. But I will tell you this, I've basically been sick since January 19t . Flu, bronchitis, pneumonia, mrsa infection, migraines, strained neck muscles, helacobactor pylori, knee replacement surgery... I don't know if that kick started it again, or it was just time. I'm healthy again now and still losing weight.

Obesity! Will that word follow me to the grave :(
@@AngelaWilliamsMD He removed the obese diagnosis. It was in the visit section of the portal. He was still putting the diagnosis of obese after each visit. None of my conditions exist anymore. I'm very fortunate. I noticed. His notes for each appointment are the same, exactly. Copy and paste.

Obesity! Will that word follow me to the grave :(
I was looking at my medical records on line through the online portal. I think my doctor copies and pastes. It said I was obese (at 125 pounds), had gerd , high blood pressure and sleep apnia. None of which is true anymore. I tried to get him to fix the record. He did finally take obese off. I think it was very unprofessional of the both of them. I'm sorry this happened to you.

1 week post op gastric sleeve
Make sure to drink plenty of water. My husband had the surgery and didn't drink enough water. Kept fainting. Ended up hospitalized for two days.

How long was hospital stay?
Two days, surgeons decision. I could have went home that night.

One and a half years out - gastric sleeve surgery
I just realized I'm 2 1/2 years out, not 1 1/2 years out. I had ask my husband. He was wrong. :-) I stayed at 140 forever.

May I get some advice?
I don't have the answer. About once a week I take a laxative. I did just recently find out though. Cherries seem to have the same affect. Going to see how that works.

Considering revision to Gastric Sleeve -- should I?
@@Meley24 I've never had the band. I had gastric sleeve. I've not had many problems. None that I didn't cause. I eat to fast, to much, and don't chew enough. You'd think I'd learn. I'm getting better about my issues, so the problems I did have are disappearing. I'm almost two years out. I'm at my goal weight. I'm still losing though. Really, best decision I've ever made.

When your spouse/significant other is still obese...
I'm really worried about my husband. I want to talk to him, but I don't want it to sound like fat shaming. He had the surgery six months before me. He lost 75 pounds. His BMI is still in the obese range. He's eating to much, and eating the wrong things. His back hurts him all the time. Now his knees are hurting him. Can you stretch your stomach back out?

@ I think your right. I have one "friend" in particular, that I was the wing girl on nights out. She had most of the attention. Now roles are reversed. Let's just say all of the sudden we aren't "friends". She's also decided it's drugs or an eating disorder. I don't need that type of "friend".

One and a half years out - gastric sleeve surgery
I think most people hit a plataue. I just stopped losing. Thought I was done. Bought new clothes size 12. I was wrong. Started losing weight again. Now I got a closet full of clothes that don't fit me. The pylori was causing a lot of nausea.

Anyone who can go through this is very strong. This is not an easy decision. Everyone should be proud of themselves. Those first few months are rough. I still have problems occasionally - nausea and stomach aches. I still think, know, I made the right decision. My health and self esteem are so much better. I just had total knee replacement surgery. If it weren't for the weight loss, the recovery would be so much harder. Big pat on the back for everyone.

When your spouse/significant other is still obese...
@ghrguru God I love my husband. He went through the surgery 6 months before me. He lost 75 pounds. BUT, 2 years later his BMI is in the obese range still. I worry about him. He's eating more and becoming less active. I just had total knee replacement surgery from injuries sustained 6 years ago. When we were very active. Overweight, but hiking six miles at least once a week. I'm looking forward for my knee to heal to get back to hiking. I just want my hiking buddy back. AND I'm worried about his health.

@@jenn1 I'm not worried what people think. I look healthy. I feel healthy. My doctors are happy. I just had total knee replacement surgery. I am so happy I didn't have to go through that heavier. PT and doctors tell me I'm doing excellent for three weeks out.
